Sigh - I am now branded as a Hindu hater on the grounds I invoke infallibilities of the practitioners who are zealots.
Others question even my nationality - I am an American of South Indian origin. I am a proud Iyer with roots in Thanjavur. Yes - I am a heretic Brahmin but with a skeptical viewpoint on McHunduism that is prevalent in India currently.
Talking of security of India - consider the challenges.
Alleviation of poverty, opportunities for the emerging youth , balancing growth with rampant ecological destruction should be priorities.
Fundamental to all this is the need for a solid infrastructure - potable water system, safe and secure network of transportation and reliable power with minimal impact on the environment.
The power scenario is the basis for all other growth.
Nuclear power is the answer - look at what South Korea has achieved.
A rapid infusion of capital, know-how in the arena of nuclear power is required. Yes - India can engineer itself - but in this field it will take eons. Time is of the essence.
India needs to accelerate its infrastructure development. Or it risks being a coolie nation.
The logical strategy will be to allow the capitalistic market forces to implement the infrastructure.
India has survived and adapted far longer than predators that have evil designs on it. Like a sponge absorbs water, civilizations and cultures have been assimilated into India and yet its Hindu ethos has survived.
Pusillanimous naysayers who fear a foreign usurpation of India's Hindu psyche are mental eunuchs - castrated of vision.
