Shabbir Ahmed alias Raju, a Pakistan terrorist who was arrested on Friday from Chandni Chowk, was planning to carry a out fidayeen attack in the city. The police have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition and other incriminating documents from his possession.
According to the police, he was waiting for orders from Pakistan. The police also recovered an AD-56 assault rifle with two magazines and 60 live cartridges, 4-live hand grenades, and Rs one lakh from a guest house in Azadpur.
Ahmed told interrogators that his associate Anwar had given him arms on LeT directions. In 1997 when he was arrested by J&K police, he came in contact with Hizbul and started conveying the movement of security forces to them.
