Reason? The DMK chief allegedly trying to settle his personal scores with his rival politicians in the state. And he doesn’t care whether that comes at the cost of the career of thousands of students.

In Tamil Nadu there are 34 engineering colleges, which are owned by politicians who are known opponents of the DMK.

AIADMK loyalist and education baron Jeppiaar is DMK’s worst rival who owns Jeppiaar Engineering College, Panimalar Engineering College and St Joseph's Engineering College in the state. One more college on the list is Andal Azhagar College in Chennai owned by actor turned MLA Vijaykanth—a lone but strong opponent of the DMK government. The actor's marriage hall was earlier demolished the DMK chief.
