Modi dares Congress to name its Gujarat CM candidateQUOTEHe called Gujarat polls a battle between positive and negative forces, a battle between development and personal interests.
"I have no family, no son and no son-in-law. Perhaps I am the only full-time CM in the country. Other CMs have responsibilities of family and loved ones, have to attend parties, they are 80 per cent CMs," said Modi, adding, "The Congress has only one agenda -- Remove Modi. But the party is yet to come up with an alternative."
From a huge stage, where various leaders from Saurashtra-Kutch including BJP state president Purshottam Rupala, Finance Minister Vaju Vala, former Amreli MP Dilip Sanghani, presidents of various districts and MLAs from different constituencies were seated, Modi challenged the Congress to name its CM candidate. "The Congress has not even named its CM candidate. It has no leader," said Modi.
Modi played both development as well as Hindutva cards. While he took credit for various government schemes implemented during his tenure, he took a dig at the UPA government for questioning the existence of Lord Ram. "Do you believe that Ram was born? Do you believe he got married to Sita? Do you believe Lord Ram built a bridge to reach Lanka and killed Ravana?" he asked the audience. The crowd answered every question in affirmative. Maintaining the flow, he said, "This is what the Congress doesn't know." He then appealed to the crowd to uproot the Congress for doubting Lord Ram's existence.
