REUTERS - A suicide bomber on a motorcycle rammed into a Pakistan Air Force bus killing at least eight people near the central city of Sargodha on Thursday, the latest attack in a surge of militant violence since the storming of Islamabad's Red Mosque in July.
More than half of the 700 people killed since July have died in suicide attacks and bomb blasts.
Here is a chronology showing some of the worst bomb attacks.
* July 14: Suicide car-bomber kills 24 paramilitary soldiers and wounds 29 in North Waziristan.
* July 15: Sixteen people, most of them paramilitaries, are killed in suicide-bomb ambush on patrol in Swat valley in North West Frontier Province (NWFP). Separately, suicide bomber targets police recruiting centre in Dera Ismail Khan in NWFP, killing 29.
* July 17: Suicide bomber kills 16 people outside court in Islamabad where country's suspended chief justice, Iftikhar Chaudhry, was due to speak.
* July 19: Three suicide attacks in a single day kill at least 52 people. At least 30 are killed in southern town of Hub. In northwest city of Hangu a car bomber kills seven people. And at least 15 worshippers are killed at a mosque in northwest Kohat.
* July 27: Suicide bomb attack in restaurant near Islamabad's Red Mosque kills 13 people, most of them policemen.
* Aug. 24: Suicide bomber kills five soldiers and wounds 30 in attack on convoy in Waziristan. Hours later another suicide bomber kills another soldier in region.
* Sept 4: Two suicide bombers kill 25 in Rawalpindi.
* Sept. 11: Suicide bomber kills 16 people in northwest Dera Ismail Khan.
* Sept 13: At least 15 soldiers killed in suicide bombing in an army canteen near Islamabad.
* Oct. 19: At least 123 people killed by a suspected suicide bomb attack on former Benazir Bhutto as she is driven through Karachi after eight years in exile. The attack is one of the deadliest in Pakistan's history.
* Oct 20: Car bomb kills four people in gas-rich southwestern province of Baluchistan.
* Oct 25: Suspected suicide bomber kills 21 people, including 17 soldiers, in an attack on an army convoy in the northwestern Swat valley. Thousands flee clashes between militants and troops over the following days.
* Oct 30: Suicide bomber kills seven people in an attack less than a kilometre from President Pervez Musharraf's army residence in the garrison town of Rawalpindi.
* Nov 1: A motorcycle-riding suicide bomber rams a Pakistan Air Force bus killing eight people in central Punjab Province.
