Virenji, I very slightly differ.
This is not just a desi mafia nor any 'movement' inspired by astonishing poverty. If it were any of these, why is there no 'naxal' or 'mao' movement in Afghanistan, Pakistan, BD, Myanmar.... are these countries any richer or wealth very uniform? Why is maoism not doing same 'revolution' in china itself? Has Chinese society already acheived the utopia that was dreamt?
Why is 'mao' only incarnating in India and Nepal? Where do they get all the resources - financial, technical etc? As revealed recently, CPI-Mao had budgeted Rs 60 Crores (or similar amount) for ammunitions for next year (I had posted that news on Maoist thread). Reources domestically cultivated? By leadership of suppressed peasantry? Why does the maoism raise its head only on the Indian side of the Padma river and not the other? Is Bangladesh already an egalitarian state?
Sir, it is not hard to see who controls the CPI-AtoZ (as various makes of the same weapon) to have Bharatvarsh strategecally encircled in its own ongoing challenges of maintaining integrity, and remain fatigued and tired in such low-intensity warfare, to ever have enough bandwidth to look in any other direction for progressing.
Now please dont tell me that these murderers are after anything other than getting to power through a shortcut, plain and simple. Just look at the situation in Nepal. The Maoist Prachanda guy knows he can never win a democratic election in Nepal - which is why he is finding back-door entry to the power there, and using blackmail threats he is controlling the Govt. He wants to first control the military, place its own "cadres" in armed forces, and then have elections! What a joke! If maoists were any egalitarian 'movement', then will they be killing the Tharu tribes and Madheshi-s in Nepal-Bihar tarai area who are the most economically and politically marginalized people in all of Nepal.

I recently came across an appropriate term: 'anti-anti-communists'. These are people who are themselves not pro-communist per-se, but will go to any lengths to argue against those who are anti-communists. Majority of urban Bangali class today is in this category. one needs to wake up to reality - which is what these dreamers dont want to. Wake up buddies.
