Avani Avittam
"Avani Avittam" falls usually on the same day as Rakshabandhan. It is a day of major significanc for all Brahmins (Tamils atleast) when the "Yagnopaveetha" is changed and new year resolutions are taken up. It would not be out of place to also mention the special "IDLI JAPAM" that's almost a mandatory ritual among tamil brahmins <img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />
Yagnopaveetham paramam pavithram Prajapathe Yat sahajam purasthaaad Aayushyam Agriyam prathi muncha shubram yagnopaveetham balamasthu theja.
