Special Correspondent
PATNA: A BJP MLA has threatened to immolate himself if the party failed to save his âhonour.â
The MLA from Chakai, Phalguni Yadav, has, in a letter to State unit chief Radha Mohan Singh, warned that he would be left with no option but to take the extreme measure as he was roughed up by a Minister in public view and the party cared little about his dignity.
Twenty days after he suffered a fracture from a push at a public meeting by Food Minister Narendra Singh and his son Ajay Singh, a JD(U) MLA, Mr. Yadav wrote to the State unit chief to say that he was resigning as a member of the Assembly. He accused the party of not standing by its workers and leaders.
Dismissal sought
Mr. Yadav has been demanding the dismissal of the Food Minister from the Cabinet and expressing his displeasure over the functioning of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who he alleged was shielding Mr. Singh.
He wondered why the Chief Minister â who says that the law will take its own course whenever an issue is raised â has not acted in the instant case.
Mr. Kumar has, after a long silence, said that the JD(U) and the BJP would sort out the matter.
