It tells us why this housewife who had shown no interest in politics, suddenly took over the Congress, and embarked on an arduous election campaign to keep the BJP away form office. This was not to save the Congress but to save herself - especially her past from exposure. The next few weeks and months should be quite interesting. The real question: can India afford to place everything including nuclear weapons in the hands of a near illiterate adventuress trying to save herself from disgrace?

If the current trends are anything to go by, and considering anti incumbency factor and the gullibility of the Indian voter who will fall for a gora chamda any day of the week, the Congress has a fair chance of winning next years election or at least forming a government with the likes of Mulayam in tow. There will be a complete assortment of rascals at the center and the fondest hopes of the Global anti-Hindu coalition (Vatican, CIA, State department, UK , China, Pakistan) will be realized. I hope the election strategy of the NDA will be broadbased (stay away from Ayodhya and religious issues - they do not belong in the political arena) to fight this menace.
