Dear Editor

Congratulations on your thoughtful Editorial: Rightly Warned-Orissa Karnataka fail in their duties in your issue of 20th September 08.

You have applauded the Central Government for taking such a step and expressed the wish that if these Governments do not protect minorities, further constitutional steps be taken and even dismissed, if necessary. No righteous person would condone killings of Christians, harassing them and attacking their shrines/Churches.

However, you failed to show such a concern, when Hindu and Sikh Minorities were persecuted and uprooted in Jammu and Kashmir. Till today, you have not expressed any concern about the Hindu and Sikh refugees of the partition in this State, who till today are not regarded bonafide residents of this State and as such have no rights as other citizens there. Furthermore, your comments about the recent temporary allocation of Land for the Amarnath Shrine have not been in favour of the Minority Community of Jammu and Kashmir.

I trust that the Tribune will show the magnanimity of concern for all the Minorities and not just Muslim and or Christian Minority!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
