Varun guilty: EC
Asks BJP not to nominate him
New Delhi, March 22
In an unprecedented order, the Election Commission (EC) tonight recommended to the BJP that it should not nominate Varun Gandhi as a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections after holding him guilty of violating the Model Code of Conduct for his hate speeches against Muslims.
Coming down heavily on the 29-year-old son of late Sanjay Gandhi and Menaka Gandhi, the EC in a 10-page order said Gandhiâs controversial speeches in Pilibhit (UP) early this month contained âhighly derogatoryâ references and seriously provocative language of a âwholly unacceptableâ nature against a certain community. <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
