<b>The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), coming under public pressure, on Thursday decided to leave the matter of Bofors payoff case accused Ottavio Quattrocchi open-ended in the court. </b>âThe investigating agency failed to get Quattrocchi extradited from Malaysia and Argentina. On the opinion of the Attorney General of India, the Red Corner Notice (RCN) was revoked against him on November 25, 2008. Now, the CBI is considering various options available to it,â submitted Additional Solicitor General PP Malhotra.
He, however, sidestepped the question put to him by the court as to what options were left with the prosecution in the case and sought two months time to file the status report. The court has adjourned the matter till September 8.
