Yes, it is possible, even after car is parked and not running. It had happened in US, UK. etc. Poorly installed A/C unit or no proper ventilation.
Last Dec, one car standstill burnt itself during cold winter night. It was parked around 8.pm. Fire was noticed around 4.10 am. My car was parked 2 car next to that inferno car.
