All set for 3-day Shahidi Jor Mela

All arrangements have been completed for the three-day Shahidi Jor Mela, in memory of great martyrs Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh — the younger Sahibzadas of tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh, which is beginning from Thursday.



They were bricked alive 305 years ago with the orders of Governor of Sirhind. After their martyrdom, their grand mother Mata Gujriji had also breathed her last in the cold dome of the Sirhind fort where she was prisoned alongwith the Sahibzadas after being arrested from the village Saheri near Morinda.



Lakhs of the people come to pay their homage to the great martyrs every year from all corners of the country and abroad. Besides the religious importance, the second day of the mela has also great significance in the political scenario of the State as all the major political parties put their agenda before the public before the people in their conferences.
