India imports about 70 per cent of its oil from the Middle East, which makes it vulnerable to the regionââ¬â¢s instability, according to Arvind Mahajan, head of natural resources at KPMG, the auditing and advisory services firm, in Mumbai.
ââ¬ÅThe kind of bilateral deal India is trying to sign with Russia will give the country greater energy stability,ââ¬Â said Mr Mahajan.
ââ¬ÅThe other advantage for India is that, by having equity in many of the Russian projects, India will be able to offset part of the price shocks.ââ¬Â
