Quote:Save us from what? When we have inherent problem in the culture, how can capitalism save us.. It has certain benefits, in terms of feeding a few, and making others go even hunger with anger. For example the wide difference between say a software engineer paid by MNC and say a mechanical engineer paid by a desi company? I know I am not treating these position equal, but our basic setup, our culture, and our ways of thinking has to expand rather collapse from 'as a system' point of view.
Care to enlighten us what these "inherent problems in culture" are?
Uh yeah pay is determined by supply & demand that's basic economics. If you want a software engineer and a mechanical engineer to be paid the same then I suggest you try Cuba or North Korea.
I think cricket is a garbage "sport" & find it ridiculous that cricketers in IPL make 100 times more than most top scientists do but that's what the market forces decided.
lol at these idiotic stories, in terms of "feeding a few", do you even understand that the even the poorest in the US have a living standard that the middle class Indians can only dream about?
You won't find masses starving to death in US or Hong Kong like you do in Zimbabwe or even India.
I also want to know your take on the evils of capitalism in formerly third world countries like Taiwan, HK, Singapore, S. Korea, Japan etc. The biggest evil in your mind I guess is that it made them rich.
Quote:If we are talking about economy and growth on equal front, a controlled capitalism, with highly regulated socialism is important. We need to research more into what is the best for us.. since, independence we have been only using systems what others have used.. Never work for us, and will ever work consider our desi factors.
Uh yeah you do realize that they are incompatible right?
You had your highly regulated socialism until the 90s, not a lot of Indians want to go back that in case you didn't realise.
If others found a more successful system why shouldn't we use it?
Do you also suggest that Indian's avoid cars or air travels because Westerners came up with them?
"Never work for us" is that why India has one of the fastest growing economies behind China after it decided to abandon some of it's socialism?
