Jews disappeared in China because of intermarriage but survived in India because of separate caste identity. Saraswat Brahmins on the Konkan coast in western India are a caste group that migrated from Kashmir to evade Muslim persecution. Tibetan Buddhists who fled to India with Dalai Lama are a new caste-like religious group.
