Pension is not going to be an issue. An MP gets Rs3000 pm as pension. That is nothing. Zilch. Zip. Nada. The two other notable benefits are "Free Rail Travel Facility" and "Medical Facilities" {CGHS}. Even if one adds these two together, it is peanuts. Unless one is not ambitious and had the "government servant" attitude the benefits compares nothing with what one would get in the private sector or what the MP is likely to get in scams and corruption.
If an MP bases his or her decisions on these paltry benefits, I am willing to bet he or she is going to be more honest or less corrupt than others. And that he or she considers this post a national service.
