Career and/or Business Networking
#1
As viren suggested, I am starting a new thread

I am trying to start a small and primary analyst group that leverages US/India/Europe talents in applied research in Telecom/Datacom areas.

we have a group from India/US/Sweden/Germany (Universities) willing to work with us, but we still have to bake the idea and work on the idea. If anyone is interested, either post here or contact me personally.

We have, at this point, lot of technical resources, but looking for marketing, financial, and other aspects of such business. We are not consultants, we will specialize in analysis first. Things we could get into are areas of all networking protocols, services (VoIP, streaming video) etc, transition from IPv4 to IPv6, security, analytical modeling, redefining cost models and price models for service providers etc/

Thank you
-Best Regards

k.ram - changed the thread title so that it's not very specific to IT.

That is fine Viren. Thanks

Does anyone know "Data Heads" from ISRO? I am trying to find out if they use any proprietary data and signaling protocols. Thank you again.

Rhytha, we all hope it will be so <!--emo&Wink--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

At this point, I am looking at a pilot project as a concept validation, so, initially there might not be lot of money. However, once we prove ourselves, then it will be a different ball game.

If you can find out more about ISRO and their data delivery systems, that will be really helpful.

Contact me personally, to know more about the idea.

Thank you

Kautilya,

Yes. I checked it out couple of months ago. The local chapter says, the members ought to have at least $10 Mil in revenue or VC backing. :friusty

And I thought IEEE membership was expensive <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Hi K.Ram,
What are you thinking of doing?

How will you leverage the talents of such a geographically diverse group? Doesn't applied research mean on-site presence? Can you give us a brief description of your idea?

In what capacity do marketing and financial people fit into the picture?

Thanks

Jaspreet,

At this point, we have enough technical resources for the initial projects envisaged. It will definitely take lot of co-ordination, since it will not be on-site (since the projects initially will not require so). Think about it more like an analyst group working with techies and profs and studfents from various countries.

Yes, we do neet marketing and financial heads too, since it is a bit different approach to applied research and we will have to find a nice way to market it and come up with a financial model.
