Last Updated: August 19, 2004 14:45 IST
According to British cops, he is Dhiren Barot to his father and Abu Musa al-Hindi to the Al Qaeda.

On Wednesday, India-born Dhiren and seven men of Pakistani origin, arrested in anti-terror raids and charged with plotting radioactive, chemical or explosives attacks, were remanded to police custody.

The eight, all holding British passport, appeared at Belmarsh Magistrates' Court. They will now appear at Old Bailey on August 25.

B Raman, an expert on Al Qaeda, told rediff.com: "This is the first and only instance of a Muslim person of Indian origin who is found to be associated with Al Qaeda. Otherwise Al Qaeda had met with no success. In this case too he is a convert."

The eight were arrested two weeks ago in countrywide raids conducted by police and intelligence agencies.

The men, charged with conspiring between January 1, 2000 and August 2004 under the Criminal Law Act, 1977, were dressed in casuals and stood silently in the dock as the charges were read out.

Dhiren was charged with possessing reconnaissance plans for the New York Stock Exchange, the International Monetary Fund, Citigroup building and the Prudential building and possessing notebooks containing information on explosives, poisons and chemicals.

Another man, Matthew Monks, 32, of Sudbury, London, held with the eight on August 3, appeared at the court charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, but was released on bail.

The other seven were Mohammed Naveed Bhatti, 24; Abdul Aziz Jalil, 31; Omar Abdul Rehman, 20; Junade Feroze, 28; Zia ul Haq, 25; Qaisar Shaffi, 25; and Nadeem Tarmohammed, 26.

According to information available with rediff.com, Dhiren is the son of Manubhai Barot and Bhartiyaben, who live with daughter Nita in a middle-class locality of Kingsbury in northwest London.

The Barot family migrated to Britain from Kenya in 1973. Since then they have suffered a lot of hardships.

While in East Africa Manubhai, who is suffering from serious heart problems nowadays, was a banker. In Britain he could not do any business and had to settle for a job.

Dhiren studied in a school in Kingsbury. He wanted to do a course in hotel management but could not get admission anywhere. Later, He tried becoming a travel agent.

According to a source in London, Manubhai had a major tiff with his son some years back.

When Dhiren was 20 he converted to Islam and later his parents drove him out of their lives.

He took part in militant campaigns in Jammu and Kashmir and is said to have been the main casing agent for Al Qaeda.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attacks, reportedly sent Dhiren to the United States several times in 2000 and 2001.

Dhiren has used a number of other aliases, including Issa al-Britani, Abu Eisa al-Hindi and Abu Musa al-Hindi.

According to reports, he travelled to Pakistan as recently as this year to meet Pakistani computer expert Mohammed Naeem Noor Khan to plot further attacks.

He also authored a book called The Army of Madinah in Kashmir, narrating his experience of his activities in Kashmir.

Officials in the US said they were considering filing criminal charges of their own against Dhiren and the other seven.

A PLANNED conversion to Christianity from Islam is understood to have triggered a frenzied domestic dispute that led to the death of a Muslim mother on Monday night.

Bangladeshi-born Dr Muh-ammad Hussain, 49, remains under police guard in a critical condition in the Gold Coast Hospital as police piece together the circumstances leading to the death of his 41-year-old wife, Yasmine.

Mrs Hussain, who had arrived on the Gold Coast with her 17-year-old daughter at the weekend from Adelaide, died at her upmarket Southport apartment after receiving stab wounds to the chest.

A Muslim source told The Gold Coast Bulletin last night that Dr Hussain arrived a month ago to take up a position as a GP and prepare for his family to join him.

"From what we understand the daughter decided to tell her father of her radical plan to convert to Christianity which, in the eyes of most Muslims, is totally unacceptable and to be honest, sadly, many would react as he has done," said the source.

"It is the Islamic way that if a son or daughter does or plans to do something that is unacceptable or wrong for a Muslim then it is the mother who is automatically at fault and will bear the brunt of the blame."

Gold Coast police last night refused to deny or support the religious conversion motive, but are understood to be investigating it.

They said they had spent more than eight hours speaking to the traumatised 17-year-old daughter and because of her distressed state they still do not have a full picture of what happened.

"It has ended up in the death of a person so it has been a violent argument and a very tragic set of circumstances," said Surfers Paradise CIB Detective Inspector John Hartwell.

Residents of the Smith Street, Albatross Park, complex where the family lived told The Bulletin yesterday they heard screams for half an hour.

"It was very quiet then there was a blood-curdling scream. It was terrible," said Colin Currie.

Neighbour Caitlin Dalton was taking out the rubbish when she heard terrifying screams.

"She (the teenager) was yelling 'help me, help me, they're trying to kill me'," said Ms Dalton.

"Everybody heard the screams but we couldn't work out which unit they were coming from.

"Then this girl emerged in the stairwell hysterical and crying.

"Her clothes had been ripped off, she was just in her underwear, and she had quite severe scratches down her arm and across her back."

Ms Dalton said as residents tried to comfort the girl, she told how she had wanted to 'convert from the Islam religion ... and obviously her father didn't handle it very well'.

"She said her parents were really strict."

Photographs taken by The Bulletin yesterday showed blood splattered throughout the three-bedroom luxury apartment which had a turkish carpet on the floor and leather upholstered chairs.

Clothing could be seen through the doorway, scattered across the floor near what appeared to be bloodstains. A large amount of blood had dried on the wall and on the carpet inside the front door, and there was blood on and around the doorknob.

"We saw one stretcher come out, then another one and another one," said resident Rory Williams.

Det-Insp Hartwell said the Hussains had no family members living on the Gold Coast and police were looking after their daughter, who had turned 17 only a week ago.

"She is assisting police with our inquiries. She is not a suspect, merely a witness to what has transpired," he said.

"Arrangements are being made through Crisis Care for accommodation for her at this stage, pending the contact of the next of kin and relatives.

"At this stage we've been unable to locate the relatives, they're all overseas."

Det-Insp Hartwell said it was too early to say if any charges would be laid against Dr Hussain.

"This matter may end up in a criminal trial or may end up in a coroners court. Before we know the full facts I'm not willing to speculate," he said.

"The outcome of the investigation will determine whether any charges are laid or a report is forwarded to the coroner."

Dr Hussain completed his medical training at the Chittagong Medical College in Bangladesh in 1982.

In 2001, he completed a masters in family medicine in Australia and four years later was granted a fellowship by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

But in the country with a population of more than 130 million, there are less than one million Christians.

It is understood Dr Hussain is a Sunni Muslim.

AROUND one in 10 Indonesian Muslims support jihad and justify bomb attacks on Indonesia's tourist island of Bali as defending the faith, a survey released today showed.

Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country, with 220 million people, 85 percent of whom follow Islam, giving the Asian archipelago the largest Muslim population of any nation in the world.

"Jihad that has been understood partially and practised with violence is justified by around <b>one in 10 Indonesian Muslims</b>," the Indonesian Survey Institute said in a statement.

"They approved the bombings conducted ... in Bali with the excuse of defending Islam," it added, saying the percentage of such support "is very significant".

While the vast majority of Indonesia's Muslims are relatively moderate, there has been an increasingly vocal militant minority and political pressure for more laws that are in line with hardline Muslim teachings.

The poll surveyed a random sample of 1092 Muslim men and women.

Bombings in Bali in October 2002 blamed on the militant Southeast Asian Jemaah Islamiah network killed 202 people, mostly foreign tourists. Suicide blasts in Bali a year ago killed 20.

The survey found <b>one in five Indonesian Muslims more generally supported the aims of Jemaah Islamiah – an armed movement backing the creation of an Islamic superstate linking Muslim Indonesia and Malaysia, and Muslim areas in the Philippines and Thailand</b>.

In the past, it has co-operated closely with al Qaeda's global anti-Western campaign, but in recent years many in Jemaah Islamiah have focused more on the regional struggle.

Indonesia has had a major attack against high profile Western-linked targets each year from 2002 through 2005. Authorities tied all the attacks to elements of Jemaah Islamiah.

<b>NRI journalist to research on women's mosque in India </b>
Thursday, October 19, 2006
Source: IANS
New York: An Indian American journalist and author Asra Nomani has won the South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) reporting fellowship for 2006-07 to support her in-depth project on the building of a women's mosque in southern India.

The fellowship announced by SAJA and SAJA Group Inc. will help Nomani picked up from more than two dozen entries to work on her project on "Progressive Jihad: A Woman's Mosque Goes Up in an Indian Village Despite Protests."

"The number of high-caliber entries made the judging process extremely difficult," said Sandeep Junnarkar, the chair of the SAJA Reporting Fellowships. "The judges found that Asra Nomani's project stood out for its timeliness and compelling storyline, and we're eagerly looking forward to seeing the finished work."

The completed work is expected to be available to news organizations around the world at no cost in early March 2007.

Nomani was a staff reporter at the Wall Street Journal for 15 years. She has also published in The New York Times, Salon, Time Magazine and The Washington Post. She is the author of "Standing Alone in Mecca: An American Woman's Struggle for the Soul of Islam" which was published in 2005 by HarperSanFrancisco.

Nomani's project is expected to bring to life the dynamic lives and challenges of Muslims in India to create a unique identity outside the influence of extremism by looking at efforts to build a women's mosque in a village in India's southern state of Tamil Nadu. This will serve as a window through which to study the pitfalls and hopes of the reform movement, a SAJA announcement said.

Open to freelancers and staff journalists in any medium, the fellowships are meant to encourage in-depth reporting projects about South Asia and the South Asian diaspora through special grants. The resulting work is available for use by news organizations at no charge.

Last year, the inaugural fellowships' applicants were required to focus on the aftermath of the tsunami that struck Asia in December 2004.

<b>Muslim attack Indian Muslim</b>

Dubai: An Indian was attacked and robbed by five Bahrainis, in a suspected case of racial attack in the Gulf nation, a report said in Dubai on Thursday.

"I was on my way to my room from Manama and as I was walking along the deserted road three Bahraini men came up to me," Mustafa V Hamza, 30, who works as a barber, said.

"<b>They kept screaming 'Kill the Indian'</b>," said Hamza, who arrived in Bahrain almost three years ago.<b> "They kept hitting me so hard that I fell to the ground," </b>he said.

<b>"This particular area where I was attacked is terrorised by such people and even small boys throw stones at us Indians when we pass by,"</b> he was quoted as saying by the Gulf Daily News.

The Bahrain police and Indian embassy officials are probing whether the attack was racially motivated.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<b><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>The Islam Conundrum</span></b>

<i>A dictionary defines religion as :

<b>“The expression of man’s belief and reverence for a superhuman power recognized as the creator and governor of the universe.”</b></i>

By this definition Islam qualifies as religion, and so do numberless other faiths. A definition this broad is ambiguous and must be further defined with the specific tenets and practices of the belief.

Simply because someone or some people say that they believe in a superhuman deity and revere him, the belief is accorded the privileged status of religion?

It is generally assumed that religion addresses issues of importance to daily life as well as matters that transcend it. Religion is thought to exercise a civilizing influence by ordering the social life, promoting spirituality, as well as advancing an array of human virtues. Zoroaster, for instance, based his faith on the triad of goodly thoughts, goodly speech and goodly deeds: Moses framed the fundamentals of his faith in the Ten Commandments; and Jesus placed love at the core of his religion.

Many people adhere to religion for providing them with comfort and a compass in life. It is these assumed benevolent features of religion that confer it special status. Yet concern with religion overreaching has led societies to enact safeguards against that possibility. Some, for instance, feared that Christ was a rebellious Jew aiming to challenge the ruling Romans. Perhaps to assuage this fear, Christ emphatically proclaimed, “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” But to this day, there are those who still believe that the Christ was a mere social revolutionary.

<b>In the case of Islam there is no ambiguity at all. The mosque and the state were one and the same from the very start. During his lifetime, Muhammad embodied in his person all three branches of worldly secular governance—the legislative, the judiciary and the executive—as well as the religious domain. As a messenger of Allah, he transmitted Allah’s laws, adjudicated according to those laws and implemented Allah’s design. He also prescribed a set of religious instructions for the spiritual life of the faithful.</b>

After Muhammad, the Islamic rule was continued by Caliphs and Imams. To this day, wherever it is able, Islam governs as the state, either directly as is the case in Saudi Arabia, or indirectly as practiced in places such as the Islamic Republic of Iran.

<b>When religion crosses the line that separates it from the state, serious problems present themselves. In the case of Islam, the rule of the people, by the people, for the people <span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>is supplanted by the rule of Allah, by the faithful to Allah, for the pleasure of Allah.</span></b> <!--emo&:flush--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Flush.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='Flush.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Other problems arise. Liberty, deeply cherished by democracies, is replaced by submission—unquestioning obedience and adherence to the dictates and precepts of the all-knowing and all-wise Allah. It is this total form of submission that, among other things, prompted the Muslims to systematically burn libraries of the lands they invaded. They justified their action by contending that the Quran, the comprehensive unerring book of Allah, contained all perfect knowledge that humanity needs. To this day, in places where Islam rules many books are banned, newspapers and magazines are systematically either censored or shut down, and other non-print media are methodically blocked.

<b>The contempt for free inquiry is encapsulated in the statement of Muhammad,

<i>“Al-elmo noghtatan katharoho al-jaheloon”</i>—Knowledge is only one dot, expanded by the ignorant.</b>

Once liberty is surrendered for submission, a host of serious consequences present themselves. The individual becomes little more than a passive obedient vessel of Allah and his perspective of himself and life is drastically changes. Once he submits to the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-alls, then he is absolved of the responsibility of having to chart his own way in life.

There is considerable allure in submission to a powerful that is willing and able to take care of the person. It is not a bad arrangement. The problem is that all past claimants have invariably been proven as either fraud or failures in honoring their part of the bargain. Islam is no exception. A cursory glance is enough to show the condition of Muhammad’s flock. In spite of huge material wealth, Muslims in the oil-rich countries are imprisoned in the paralyzing mentality of submission and all the terrible ancillaries that go with it.

There is no reason to believe that Muslims have inferior intelligence. Their state of existence is strictly a function of the doctrine of Islam: a doctrine of nihilism, ignorance, and violence that denigrates this life and fixes the starry eye of the faithful on the next life. A case in point is the Islamic madressehs in places like Pakistan. Never mind the girls. Girls are not in the calculus—women are incidental in Islam. Consider boys. Millions of young boys are enrolled in madressehs—religious boarding schools—learning very little beside memorizing and reciting the Quran. This is a case of total submission: Islam at its best, as championed by the oil-money-flushed Saudi patrons of the Wahabi sect.

<b>Sadly enough, instead of Muslims marching out of the suffocating swamps of submission to the meadow of liberty, <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Allah’s faithful aim to drag the rest of humanity into the deadly Islamic quagmire. Islam may have been an improvement to the life of the savages that roamed the Arabian desserts some 1400 years ago. The 21st century world, in spite of all its problems and challenges, is not willing to surrender to the clearly failed and failing Islamic experiment.</span></b>

Straw's remarks were expected to enrage the Muslim community in general, but what came as a surprise was the stand taken by educated Muslim women in the West. Most of them regarded the veil as a "means of expression", rather than "oppression"

<b>When Ray Honeyford, former principal of Drummond middle school in Bradford, suggested in 1984 that "Asian pupils" should "learn English" and "a bit of British history", he was called "racist" and a thorough investigation was ordered against him by the then Margaret Thatcher Government.</b> Twenty-two years later, in October 2006, when Jack Straw, Leader of the House of Commons, urged Muslim women to remove their burqa, as wearing it made "better, positive relations" between communities more difficult, no less than 53 per cent of Britons supported him. More significantly, 57 per cent believed that Muslims have a responsibility to do more to fit into mainstream society.

Straw's remarks were expected to enrage the Muslim community in general, but what came as surprise was the stand taken by educated Muslim women in the West. Most of them regarded the veil as a "means of expression", rather than "oppression". It is difficult to comprehend the reasons that made them prefer such a shackled dress code that had been vigorously resisted by their Afghan counterparts during the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. How can one justify the demand of Sultaana Freeman who filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against the State of Florida for revoking her driving licence because it carried a niqab-wearing photograph? No less weird was the demand of a British teacher to take classes in a niqab.

Had such protests occurred in the pre-7/7 era, the Government might have bent backwards to appease Muslims. But times have changed and so has perceptions in the corridors of power. Prime Minister Tony Blair confirmed this change of mindset when he "fully supported" the decision of the Kirklees Council to suspend the Muslim teaching assistant who had refused to remove her veil at work. He further put his stamp on the death of unidimensional multi-culturalism in the UK when he reinforced Mr Straw's statement, saying that the veil was a "mark of separation". Mr Blair, at the same time, established the fact that the "contentious" views of Jack Straw, Ruth Kelly, Phil Woolas, among others, were not just individual opinions, but part of a well thought out decision. Today, it is expected of all those who settle in the UK to relate to mainstream British society.

What caused this change of heart, thus marking the beginning of end of "multi-culturalism" in the UK? Till 7/7, when the London Metro became the target of jihadi fury, Britain provided space to "revolutionaries" under the illusion that they would martyr themselves elsewhere. This understanding seemed to have worked well in the beginning. But as early as 1988, Salman Rushdie anticipated the crisis when he wrote in The Satanic Verses of a Khomeini-like "bearded and turbaned imam" in London, a "loathed exile (hoping to) return in triumph" to his homeland.

Britain, however, continued to ignore the fundamentalist crescent of Islam probably out of what one Western commentator called "White guilt" for all the "old sins of racism, imperialism and colonialism". Worse, it even assisted the process of ghettoisation of the Muslim mindset.

Sheikh Bakri, a self-confessed spokesperson of Osama bin Laden's "International Islamic Front for Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders", acknowledged in 1996 that he was living on social benefits from the British Government of "nearly £300 a week". He confessed: "Islam allows me to take the benefit the system offers. Most of the leadership of the Islamic movement is on (state) benefit."

<b>The British obsession for appeasing Muslims - touting "multi-culturalism" - was quite blatant during the Shabina Begum episode.</b> In 2002, Shabina, a student of a Muslim-dominated school with a co-religionist principal, discarded the modest salwar-kameez uniform for a head-to-toe gown. When the school authorities objected, her brother threatened to drag them to court. Though the law lords finally accepted the school's decision, the British fixation with "multi-culturalism" got unveiled, as none less than the wife of Prime Minister Tony Blair led the propaganda in favour of Islamic fundamentalists. So much for "multi-culturalism"!

<b>If Muslims are facing Islamophobia in the West, partly it's they themselves who are to blame. After all, according to a Pew global survey, 81 per cent of British Muslims considered themselves Muslim first and British second</b>. Interestingly, it is second only to Pakistan where 87 per cent of people showcased a similar mindset. Moreover, a recent poll found that over 10,000 British Muslims believe that suicide attacks on civilians in the UK are justified under certain circumstances. What is, however, more disconcerting is the fact that about 16,000 British Muslims "actively engage in or support terrorism", of these "some 3000 have been trained at Al Qaeda camps in Pakistan or Afghanistan". It is, therefore, hardly a surprise when 53 per cent of Britons regard Islam as a "threat to Western liberal democracy" (if a YouGov survey in Daily Telegraph is to be believed) and demand greater integration of Muslims with the rest of society. With the awakening of British society, a paradigm shift in the perception of the powers-that-be should not come as a surprise.

<b>Britain is a shinning example of how a liberal democracy turns to the advantage of Islamists, who use its freedom to advance their narrow interpretation of religion.</b> Aren't other democracies, including India, treading the same beaten track of indulging the minorities to live in ghettos? In India, the separatist trend has already taken deep roots, as was evident in the July Mumbai bombings that was executed by homegrown terrorists. The view is further reinforced when one witnesses several NGOs, political activists and separatists staging a pro-clemency movement in favour of Mohammed Afzal Guru, who masterminded the Parliament House attack. Missing the failure of Britain's "multi-culturalism" will be a monumental folly, especially for the future of democratic liberalism across the world.

To,
Pope Benedict
Vatican City

Respected Sir,
We the Indian Muslim Community as well as the secular masses of India are extremely perturbed by your recent fulminations which are basically an affront to Islam and our Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.). Even though your statements have hurt our sentiments, we assure you that in no way will they hinder the cordial relations that we enjoy with our Indian Christian brethren. We do accept your apologies and also request you to refrain from making such ill informed, prejudiced and ahistorical statements in the future. You have every right to voice your opinion though we humbly suggest that you study the works of atleast the German scholars of Islam who have over the centuries contributed to a constructive and analytical critique of Islam. Indeed your verbal barrage has been untimely to say the least.

They have come at a very critical stage for inter-faith relations globally. On the one hand is being propagated the "Clash of Civilizations" that is committed to promoting a religio-civilizational war. On the other hand, US Imperialism led by the Neo-Conservative Bush junta in alliance with NATO and Zionist Israel is waging a war on Muslim countries as well as the Third World.

We also fear that your statement will harm the cause of the Lebanese nation. It was the unity of the Arab Muslims and Christians that was central to the triumph over Israel. Your statement may have sown the seeds of discord and division amongst the Lebanese which in turn will pave the way for the next Israeli war.

A systematic attempt is afoot globally to demonise Islam and Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) and the recent manifestation of this was the cartoon controversy which had a strong racist and communal bias. A concerted attempt is being made to abet and promote Islamophobia by sections of the Western World. And you will also vividly recall that the last time that the West indulged in Judeophobia, it led to the Jewish Holocaust. The West over the centuries has progressed from its hatred of Judaism and persecution of the Jews to its similar demonization of Muslims and Islam. The west has evolved in its religio-cultural prejudices, yes, from Judeophobia to Islamophobia !!.

Your venerable successor Pope John Paul II was a man of faith and was committed to promoting inter-faith dialogue. He even verbally oppossed the US aggression on Iraq. We were surprised at your silence even when your Eastern flock of Maronite Christians was brutally slaughtered during the Israeli war on Lebanon.

At this critical hour we need the men of faith to indulge in a "Dialogue of Civilizations". This is not a war between the religions of the world. This is also not a civil war within the Abrahamic faiths. The battle is truly between the religions of the world on one hand and Zionism on the other. Both Jewish and Christian Zionism's are theologically corrupting and thus have a subversive influence on Judaism and Christianity. At stake are the very moral and ethical foundations of Judaism and the principles of love, mercy and compassion, which was the central message of Prophet Jesus (p.b.u.h.). Infact Christian Zionism degrades the centrality of Christ in the process of salvation and redemption and places Israel at the centre whilst replacing Jesus !!.

It is again Christian and Jewish Zionism that are the greatest impediments to a peaceful and just resolution of the Palestine-Isareli conflict. Our vision is for a just peace for the Jews, Christians and Muslims of Israel and Palestine. Here again we witness an utter lack of engagement on the part of the Catholic Church even though the Holy Land and the town of Bethlehem are under siege. Is the fate of Arab Christians of lesser consequence to the Western Catholic Church?. Is this the old schism between the Western Latin Church and the Churches of the East ?.

Humanity is at an abyss. We stand at the crossroads. One path is that of wars, destruction and armageddon, the other is the path of love, justice and peace and the spiritual evolution of humanity and all of God's Creation. The choice is clear and for you to make.

We look forward to the day when people of all the faiths of the world can dwell in peace, in the spirit of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.), Gautam Buddha (p.b.u.h.) and Jesus Christ (p.b.u.h.) - the common legacy and teachers of humanity.

So we should bow our heads and shed tears of joy that this brigade of Islamists has decided to spare Indian Christians. The great Milli Gazette wallas are saying "The traditional muslim way of spreading peace by going into the nearest Christian household and killing the crusaders (because some Christian spoke the truth and caused us takleef, as usual) will not be resorted to, and you have to give us bonus laddoos for that onlee". Bloody ****s. They and their secular langoti yaars should feel free to go to Saudi. Our government, instead of buying tix for such one-way candidates, subsidizes Hajj. The truth about conversions...

At the Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) conference at the Wembley Arena in
August 1994, a Sikh girl was converted on stage in front of 8000
cheering and clapping Muslims. The Sikh girl then proceeded to
attack Sikhism making particularly offensive statements against
Sikh Gurus. The audience laughed and continued to cheer. Some of
this speech was televised on satellite T.V. and on the HuT's pirate
radio station. Muslim leaders at the conference called for an
intensification of the campaign to bring Sikh and Hindu women to
Islam. The same thing happened at the HuT's 'Rally for Islam'
conference in Trafalger Square, in August 1995. This time 2 Hindu
women were converted on stage in front of 2000 cheering Muslims.
Again Muslim leaders, demanded that Muslim boys try harder to
convert Sikh and Hindu girls.

HuT leader issued a directive in January 1995, to specially
selected male members telling them to place Ads in Personal Columns
of National Asian newspapers inviting relationship from Asian
women. They were told to write that the religion and nationality of
the girl were unimportant and be ambiguous about their own
backgrounds by for example only describing themselves as Asian.
They were further told to form intimate relationships with only
Sikh and Hindu girls who replied with the aim of conversion. The
expense of the Ads and any dates was to be paid by the HuT.

Certain Muslims have taken to wearing Karas (Sikh steel bracelets)
at Bhangra gigs, with the aim of specifically seeking to meet Sikh
and Hindu girls. When meeting the girls, these people identify
themselves in such a way that the girl does not realise they are
Muslim, for example by shortening the name Mohammed to Mohan. They
then form a relationship with the girl and begin the slow path to
conversion.

HuT leadership has instructed it's members to specifically target
'problem' groups for conversion. These include young teenage girls,
people with social problems, the recently bereaved and victims of
abuse as children. These people are considered to be weak willed
and so easily manipulated. Once identified, the Muslim will try to
convince their target that Islam will magically solve all their
problems. Incidentally in 1992, the HuT produced an article telling
Muslim men to particularly target "non-Muslim girls with plain or
unattractive physical facial or body feature". These girls the
article said would not be "accustomed to this attention" and would
do anything to maintain any relationship. It went on to say that
the "discomfort you may feel in such a relationship, especially if
intimate, is only temporary however the rewards you will receive in
Heaven will last for eternity".

The HuT had instructed Muslims to work in groups when converting,
with one person forming a very close friendship with their target.
The group then works to find out the strengths and weakness of the
person involved and then will work accordingly, if for example, the
person loves sport and is very athletic, they will go on about how
Islam actively encourages sport and all the world's best sportsmen
such as Mohammed Ali, Tyson and Imran Khan are Muslims. If the
person has a strongly anti-while attitude, they will stir up racial
hatred against whites even more by talking about past white
injustice against them. This policy has been used effectively with
Afro-Caribbeans, with whom they talk about the slave trade and give
Malcom X as a role model (Muslim groups leafleted black cinema
audiences watching Malcom X when it was released). Similarly,
hard-up students have been offered well-paid jobs with Muslim
business, providing they convert.

Forced conversions do occur. There have been many documented cases
(at least one in Southall) when Sikh and Hindu girls have been
taken to Pakistan by their Muslim boyfriends and forcibly
converted. Those resisting are passed on to other Muslim men who
keep the girl under lock and key, in some remote village without
telephones. All the girl's money and her passport are taken away.
Other cases have occurred when Sikh and Hindu girls are
photographed naked by their Muslim boyfriends, who tell the girl to
convert or the photos will be published in magazine and sent to the
girl's family and friends. These are tragically not scare stories
but actual facts.

Conversions to Islam almost always occur out of a person's
ignorance or misunderstanding of their own religion. Take the time
to understand you religion and educate others. The process of
conversion is usually very subtle and gradual. It always occurs by
progressively undermining your culture and religion through
misquoting religion texts and falsifying historical events. Be on
your guard, and stop them from spreading lies about your religion
be you Sikh or Hindu. The HuT and other Muslim groups have said
that they aim to make France, an Islamic Republic by the year 2015,
and Britain by 2025 through conversions, immigration and high
Muslim birth rates. They must be stopped.

If you go looking for trouble any weekend in Slough's busy
shopping centre, you will find it, sooner rather than later.
Saturday afternoons regularly feature rival Asian gangs exuding
collective bravura and menace. The wrong word, an inadvertent
glance and tempers flare. Vigilant security guards disperse the
gangs of 10 or more, as bewildered and Tightened shoppers retreat
for cover.

A spiral of violence between Muslim and Sikh gangs has been
building in recent years. Last month it culminated in a 70-strong
armed Sikh gang, reportedly from Southall, rampaging through
Slough's predominantly Muslim area of Chalvey leaving damaged homes
and cars and a frightened community in their wake. A hundred extra
police officers were speedily dispatched to forestall reprisals in
Southall but the immediate response came in Slough, where enraged
Muslim teenagers turned on Sikhs.

Seventeen-year-old Sikh business student Sanjeev Singh was almost
killed. He recalls: "I was riding through the park with my cousin
when a gang of them pushed me off my bike. About 10 of them had me
on the floor, and while my cousin escaped to get help, some of them
started hitting me with bricks. had an empty Lucozade bottle which
he smashed on my head, and another of them stabbed me in the back.

"I think it lasted for five solid minutes and they must have left
me for dead." Sanjeev spent a week in intensive care.

As fears increased among the minority Sikhs in Slough and the
minority Muslims in Southall, an emergency meeting was convened of
youth and community workers from across west London.

Sukhjit Dhaliwal, general secretary of the Slough Sikh Defence
Union, says attacks on Sikhs - easily distinguished by their
turbans - are increasing. "A couple of years ago a Sikh boy was
killed, and last year another committed suicide because of Muslim
bullying," he says.

On the Muslim side, Saber Hussein Choudhury, who chairs Slough's
Pakistan Welfare Association and lives and works in the heart of
Chalvey, says: "The situation is very volatile. The madness of
idle youth on both sides has meant both communities are afraid."

Two rival gangs are said to be responsible for the violence - the
Sikh dominated Shere Punjabs (Lions of Punjab) and the Muslim
Chalvey Boys.

Before the recent attacks in Slough, they had clashed outside
colleges and during religious festivals in Southall, which has
London's largest youth population and Europe's highest
concentration of Asians.

Unfortunately, this year the Muslim festival of Eid fell on the
same day as the Sikh festival of Visakhi and, despite heavy
policing in Southall, there were almost 90 arrests for carrying
offensive weapons and public disorder.

The troubles have been bad for business. In a Pakistani-owned
Southall restaurant, Akmal says: "People come from everywhere,
flying their Muslim and Sikh flags and making trouble. Business is
dead because police are stopping everyone, and sometimes they are
too rough-handed and start pushing people around. Definitely
something big is going to happen, there is too much tension."

Such tensions deeply disturb the Southall-born playwright Harwant
Bains. His critically acclaimed 1993 film Wild West was an
affectionate and anarchic comedy about gung-ho Asian teenagers in
Southall who dreamed of becoming country and western singers.

He says today's climate is beyond caricature. "My film gave a
heightened sense of what went on then," says Harwant, who left
Southall six years ago. "Yes, there were gangs like the Holy
Smokes and the Tooti-Nungs, but nothing like what's going on today.

There was no real threat from your own people.

"I really thought these differences had become secondary. As I
grew up we all fought against racism. Now these post-pubescent
kids, wearing bandanas like something out of the LA riots, are
making us the object of derision in a society in which we're still
not that welcome."

Some first-generation Asians, known for their hard work and
peaceful image, think the solution lies in "zero tolerance,' of the
disruptive youths.

Others point to the problems caused by unemployment. In Chalvey
the rate is 10.5 per cent - more than twice the rate for Slough as
a whole. In the borough of Ealing, where Southall is located,
almost 40 per cent of the youth are unemployed.

Many observers say that some teenagers are also experiencing an
identity crisis and community leaders are failing them.

Sukhjit Dhaliwal says: "These kids claim to fight for religions
they don't know anything about, and don't even go to mosques or
temples. They are struggling to form an identity, and leaders
should ten them about their rich cultures, not religious
fundamentals."

The age-old gang concern of territory is often as significant as
religion. One 15-year-old youth, Ahmed from Chalvey, explains:
"Muslims run Slough, it's our territory. Why are Sikhs coming from
outside to Muslim areas like Slough and Hounslow? They are making
trouble, so we are defending ourselves."

Sex also plays a part. The gangs are hostile to the growing number
of mixed marriages among Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims. Sikhs in
particular complain of leaflets and fliers that urge Muslim males
to convert Sikh and Hindu girls to Islam.

At the same time Muslim males are accused of treating non-Muslim
girls as fair game. Geeta, a 17-year-old Hindu, says: 'Muslim boys
won't go out with Muslim girls because they say they're sisters.
But they think we are just slags so they can go out with us."

The Asian in-fighting has punctured the myth of social homogeneity
and it is clear now that the much-publicised success of Asian
entrepreneurs hag obscured the problems of a confused underclass of
Asian youngsters.

Harwant Bains warns: "The Asian community needs to examine and
define itself and find out how it fits into Britain into the
country where younger generations are born. Otherwise we will just
continue sleep-walking into trouble."

1. Islam is a totally MISSIONARY religion committed to making EVERYONE Muslim, according to the Koran the world is divided up into 2 parts, Dar-as-Islam (House of Faith) a title which applies to all Islamic countries and Dar-al-Harb (Household of War), land not yet surrendered to Allah, which is the rest of the world. It is the duty of every Muslim to wage
Jihad (Holy War) against Kafirs, infidels and unbelievers what the Koran calls non-Muslims and make them submit to Islam. Violence against Kafirs is encouraged in the Koran, if gentle persuasion doesn?t work.

2. Conversions of Sikh and Hindu men and women is becoming an increasing problem, hundreds of reported and verified conversions in the last few years. Dozens of cases were reported in October 1995 alone, when the new academic year tarted also converted. Universities in London, Bradford and Luton are particular problem areas.

3. At the Hizb-ut-Tahrir ( HUT ) conference at the Wembley arena in August 1994, a Sikh was converted on stage in front of 8000 cheering and clapping Muslims. The Sikh girl then proceeded to attack Sikhism making particularly offensive statements against the Sikh Gurus. The audience laughed and continued to cheer. Some of this speech was televised on satellite T.V and

The same thing happened at HUTs Rally for Islam conference in Trafalgar Square, August 1995. This time 2 Hindu women were converted on stage in front of 2000 cheering Muslims. Again Muslim leaders demanded that Muslims boys try harder to convert Sikh and Hindu girls.

4. The self appointed Muslim parliament of Britain passed a resolution demanding that the British government make it illegal for Muslim women to marry non-Muslim. It also called for the banning of conversions of Muslims to other faiths. Any Muslim
who did convert was to be stoned to death according Islamic tradition. Thankfully, the British government did not take their demand seriously, but the event showed the Muslims double standards and hypocrisy.

5. HUT leaders issued a directive in January 1995 to specially selected male members telling them to place Ads in personal columns of national newspapers inviting relationships from Asian women, they were told to write the religion and nationality of
the girl were unimportant and be ambiguous about their own backgrounds by for example only describing themselves as Asian. When meeting the Girls, these people identify themselves in such a way that the girl does not realise that they are Muslim, for example by shortening the name Mohammed to Mohan. They form relationships with the girl and begin the slow path to conversion.

7. A Muslim converting somebody, will never tell the person the whole story. For example
when converting men they always leave out the part about having to be circumcised to become Muslim. After all what man would want half of his genitals cut off. Likewise girl converts are tricked into believing that men and women are equal to Islam.
They are not told that rape victims according to the Koran have produce 4 Male witnesses of good character to say that they were raped or they will be charged with adultery and stoned according to Islamic tradition ( hundreds of cases where this has
occurred are on file with Amnesty International, contact them for further information). Also according to the Koran, all man has to do to divorce his wife is say Talaq 3 times. For women of course getting a divorce is much harder. Besides which what
woman wants to share her husband with three other women.

The new method that they are employing is to change their names by deed poll to Mohan singh and Balraj singh , they add surnames on to Gill and Hayer are two of there favorites. Please check the person you are going to marry and there credentials through your parents or close relatives NAMES MEAN NOTHING THERE ARE BEING CHANGED BY DEED POLL IT ONLY COSTS THEM A COUPLE OF HUNDRED POUNDS , SUPPLIED BY THEY'RE
FANATICAL ELDERS!!!!

8. HUT leadership has instructed its members to specifically target problem groups of conversion. These include young teenage girls, people with social problems, the recently bereaved and victims of abuse as children. CONVERSIONS INTO ISLAM almost always occur out of a persons IGNORANCE or MISUNDERSTANDING of
their own religion. Take time to understand your religion and educate others. The process of conversion is usually very SUBTLE and GRADUAL. It always occurs progressively UNDERMINING YOUR CULTURE and RELIGION through misquoting religious texts and falsifying historical events. Be on guard and stop them from speaking lies about your religion be
you Sikh or Hindu. The HUT and other Muslim groups have said that they aim to make FRANCE, an ISLAMIC
REPUBLIC by the year 2015 and Britain by 2025 through CONVERSIONS, IMMIGRATION and high MUSLIM BIRTH
RATES. THE DIFFERENT WAYS THE HUT ARE ATTACKING US

Fanatics are now vandalising books on Sikhism and religious texts such as the Guru Granth Sahib in Council, School, and college libraries. About 30% of the time this vandalism involves the writing of false propaganda and messages to the readers of the book. These messages usually attempts to UNDERMINE your faith by MISQUOTING religious texts and distorting
reality. Check your local library especially if you live in an area with a history of trouble.

Recent events have shown that groups have become increasingly envious of our prosperity in this country. They are now systematically trying their best to damage us financially. In some Mosques speakers have told worshippers to boycott Sikh
and Hindu shops. However, the most obvious example of this economic sabotage would be that of the Bradford riots. These were not as the media have us believe merely a case of Asian youths uprising and fighting white fascist police brutality, but more a situation where gangs went on rampage, burning and looting non-Muslim property. The Economist Magazine ( June
17th 1995 edition ) reported that No Hindu nor Sikh youths took part, only Muslim males. Indian owned business were attacked. In fact other reports state that older, masked Muslims ( thought to be HUT ) went down the streets ahead of everyone else, and specifically marked out Sikh and Hindu shops with spray paint, for destruction by rioters following them. Don't be fooled by the Muslim media, Sikhs and Hindus were the victims of the Muslim riots in Bradford.

The HUT produced and circulated articles in universities, stating that Jewish, Sikh and Hindu students were dogs and must be removed from higher education. (As reported in the Guardian, 31st October 1995 edition). The Muslims have realised that
the power, respect, money and knowledge and influence brings makes us more powerful enemies. The exact strategy for preventing us from obtaining higher education has not yet been leaked, but the harassment and bullying Hindu and Sikh students at schools and colleges ( by such acts as the storming of West Thames college in Jan 1995 ) is bound to be a part of
it. After all how can anyone work in places of such stress. Our youths must strive to get highly educated as they possibly can. University students should act as role models and encourage younger members of the community to get an education. This will greatly benefit not only you and your family, but help your community.

Youths have been instructed to infiltrate any and every organisation and position of authority they can. They have also been told to keep their Islamic fundamentalist secret and subtly remove our community from a position within these organisations. For example, they have been directed to join Student Union bodies, the Media, anti-racist groups community groups, councils and political parties.

This link has a scan of one such letter issued to Muslim guys:

http://www.hinduunity.org/bewaregirls.htm

This is still going on but now more subtle methods are used.
This is long term: In addition to all other efforts, we have to ask Muslims, Christians, and Hindus to look into the roots of all religions (how X and I have tried to copy Dharma). This will slowly produce:

1. Dilution of islam and xtianity-lots of "in name only" types, and lots of people who see what exactly X/I has done for the world. Many X/I will stick to their religion, but follow only those rules in the religion that can be accepted as "liberal"-like celebrating Xmas..
2. Strengthening of Dharma
3. Sorting out: the clear drawing of lines between (a)islamists/missionary types and (b) the non-islamist/non-missionary types.

As the line becomes bolder and bolder, (b) will return to their roots..slowly.
(a) will slowly get killed off.

**This is in addition to all ongoing efforts, not a replacement at all**

In addition, Hindu parties have to figure out a way of bypassing the knee-jerk "I as a X/I cannot vote for (Hindu Party) even though I know that Hindus are not really harming me or demanding special rights..." mentality.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>Mecca pact heralds Shia-Sunni amity </b>
Mecca, Oct. 22: Prominent Shia and Sunni religious scholars from Iraq took the first major step in decades toward mutual recognition of one another as acceptable versions of the same faith at a historic meeting in Mecca early on Saturday. Analysts say the reconciliation pact will herald a new era in Shia-Sunni ties worldwide.

<b>In a joint declaration, signed at the Royal Al-Safa Palace overlooking the Holy Ka’aba, the religious scholars called for a complete end to the sectarian killings in Iraq that have recently assumed horrific proportions. Meeting under the auspices of the Jeddah-based Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, the Shia and Sunni scholars called on Iraqis in unambiguous terms to stand united in protecting the independence, unity and territorial integrity of their country</b>.

“This is necessary,” they said, “in order to put an end to the (foreign) occupation of Iraq.” The declaration produced by the scholars contains a ruling which clearly forbids Shias and Sunnis from killing each other. Essentially a fatwa, the ruling is based on eight key points. <b>The most important is: “The Muslim is he who professes his faith by proclaiming ŒLailaha Illallah Muhammad Rasulullah (There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is His Prophet). </b>

By this statement, the Muslim embrac-es and accepts the five pillars of Islam and the central tenets of its faith, thus rendering his blood and property inviolable.” “These fundamental principles,” the declaration said, “apply equally to the Sunni and the Shia without exception. The differences between the two schools of thought are merely differences of opinion and interpretation and not essential
differences of faith.”

The declaration states that no follower of either school may expel or declare another an unbeliever or in any other way cast aspersions on the faith of a follower of a different school. The grounds for the ruling are based on a statement by Prophet Mohammed: “If ever one of you calls his brother: You infidel, one of them shall come out the infidel and bear the onus thereof.”

The declaration reiterates that all houses of worship are sacrosanct, including mosques and non-Muslim houses of worship of all faiths and religions. “Therefore,” the declaration states, “these places of worship may not be attacked, appropriated, or in any other way used as a haven to perpetrate acts in contravention of Shariah.” The declaration rules that certain things and principles should never be forfeited, including, in particular, unity, cohesion, cooperation and solidarity in piety and righteousness.

“It is incumbent upon all Muslims to adopt caution and vigilance against all attempts to sow division among them, break their ranks, or incite sedition, strife, and hatred in order to corrupt their divine and spiritual bonds with each other.” The Iraqi scholars appealed to Muslim scholars worldwide to support the ruling and urged the Muslims of Iraq to adhere to it.

“We pray to Almighty God, on this sacred soil and blessed grounds, to protect and preserve the faith of all Muslims, ensure the safety of our homeland, and bring the Arab-Muslim country of Iraq out of its plight, end its trials and tribulations, and reinstate Iraq as a fortress and pillar of the Muslim Ummah in the face of its enemies.” The declaration has received full approval and endorsement from key Shia and Sunni leaders, most notably from Sheikh Muhammad Syed Tantawi, Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani and Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi.

<b>The Eurabia Code</b> by Fjordman

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->I decided to write this essay after a comment from a journalist, not a Leftist by my country's standards, who dismissed Eurabia as merely a conspiracy theory, one on a par with The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. I do not disagree with the fact that conspiracy theories exist, nor that they can be dangerous. After all, the Protocols and the Dolchstosslegende, or "stab in the back myth" - the idea that Germany didn't lose WW1 but was betrayed by Socialists, intellectuals and Jews - helped pave the way for Adolf Hitler and the Nazis before WW2.

However, what puzzles me is that it is a widely-held belief of many (not just in the Islamic world but in Europe and even in the United States) that the terror attacks that brought down the Twin Towers in New York City on September 11th 2001 were really a controlled demolition staged by the American government and then blamed on Muslims. I have seen this thesis talked about many times in Western media. While it is frequently (though not always) dismissed and mocked, it is least mentioned.

In contrast, <b>Eurabia - which asserts that the Islamicization of Europe didn't happen merely by accident but with the active participation of European political leaders - is hardly ever referred to at all, despite the fact that it is easier to document. Does the notion of Eurabia hit too close to home? Perhaps it doesn't fit with the anti-American disposition of many journalists? Curiously enough, even those left-leaning journalists who are otherwise critical of the European Union because of its free market elements never write about Eurabia. </b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
