There are two new VCDs from Bhaktivedanta Trust (ISKCON I believe) on "The legend of Prince Ram". Animated series, but are really very good introductory material for kids.

I own these VCD's, and our guests (be it caucasians or Indians), are transfixed throughout the Story. While the dialogues are in english, the songs are in Samskrit. It's definitely a MUST in your video collection.

Can anybody post the latest trend in comics in India.
Around 5-6 years ago Raj comics were very popular in northern India.I read quite a few of them and found them very interesting. The popular characters were Super Commando Dhruv,Nagraj,Doga and Bankelal. The stories were very imaginative and funny with top class picutres .Diamond comics were still there but I guess I had grown too old for those kind of stories.Another thing that used to interest me as a teenager were the detective series of Rajan-Iqbal especially the ones written by S.C. Bedi which came out in pocket size books. Is this guy still writing ?
I always felt that the people working on comics had more creative talent than the people writing stories in Bollywood.I think film industry should use their talent.
A film called Rudraksh released couple of months ago was based on comic like characters. My wife saw it and told me that it stunk big time.

I haven't seen an e-book version of the book, but I bought the hard-cover version from alltimebooks.com...........for less than $20, including shipping. That's the cheapest I have seen so far.

'Njoy.........

I need a (the more the better) desi site where I can order a whole bunch of books in one go and not have to pay like $5/$10 shipping for each book. Prices must be the desi Rs version and not the inflated dollah ones. <!--emo&Wink--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Will anyone have any information on books by the publisher "Indus books"

http://www.indusbooks.com/bookdetails.cf...d=IN-35032

The titles are very interesting and some are rare (on trekking and travel in India esp.)

Krishna, from the site it looks they sell books on-line as well, not sure if they will supply to US.

i had asked around the office for this..a friend of mine bought it from Fabmall, says he got it in a week (in India) the site is as under:

http://www.fabmall.com/stores/Books/BooksH...catalogid=Books

..again don't know if they supply to US

Ashish, thanks for the info.

I have checked with the fabmall guys before. There price range is decent, not the inflated ones but they don't deliver outside India. the very few who do deliver outside India charge throat-slitting shipping fees. <!--emo&Sad--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:mad--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
