By our correspondent
KARACHI: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) ordered the management of the Geo TV network on Thursday night to stop airing its flagship daily news programme "Aaj Kamran Khan Key Saath" with immediate effect, according to a spokesman for Geo News.
<b>As per the government order, Geo News aired an apology to its viewers at 11:05 pm, the regular time for the programme with Kamran Khan explaining the govt order that led to the banning of the show.</b>
Aaj Kamran Khan Key Saath, one of the most popular news shows with Pakistan's most watched Geo TV, is hosted by Kamran Khan, among the country's best known investigative journalists and news anchors. "I never knew that the government would get so desperate and would lose patience so soon with this free flow of information," said Kamran Khan. "We never had any agenda other than providing people the most accurate news and an objective analysis on this most important turning point of our history," he added. This programme was very much within the framework of the law and had no illegal contents.

Two significant developments are taking place within Pakistan at present. With the removal of the Chief Justice of Pakistan by the Government on charges of misconduct, the Civil Society including the democratic forces has launched an agitation against the present military government. It is not clear who is the moving force behind this agitation, which is significantly led by the lawyers. It can be a US sponsored affair to oust the present government leading to its replacement by another government, which according to media reports is expected to be led by a banker as President and by the current Deputy Army Chief as the Commander in Chief of the all powerful armed forces. Since the current agitation has received support from former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and from other political outfits, US and Western desire for a restoration of democracy cannot be ruled out as a likely cause for the present agitation, which is assuming a nationwide dimension as the days are passing.
The other development is the Islamic militantsâ new front: Pakistan. In recent weeks, the Islamic suicide bombers who were so far operating against the US and NATO forces within Afghanistan, operating from their safe bases within Pakistan have turned on Pakistan itself, carrying out six attacks and killing 35 people. Are these attacks isolated incidents of fanatic wreath, or is it some widespread coordinated effort to intimidate the State itself, only time will tell.
However, both these developments may have significant effect on India and the region and needs to be carefully watched and acted upon. It is in the greater interest of India and the whole of South Asia that Pakistan remains stable. That is the best guarantee to prevent the Extremists from taki8ng over Pakistan and endangering the security of the entire region.

No chance, for US its much easy to deal with Army General on their payroll then dealing with democratic elected PM who can't even control Army and nuclear assets.
India should watch and stop peace nonsense with Paki Army and keep its border under control.
I don't expect anything from Moron Singh Government, because hurting Paki may not bring some votes from traitors.
US media is showing riots in Pakistan, but they are calling save Mushy and you will save nuclear assets.
Mudy what is your suggested course of action in resolving the bilateral problem with Pakistan ?
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Mudy what is your suggested course of action in resolving the bilateral problem with Pakistan ? <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Any deal will work when partners are honest. Pakistan is neither honest nor sincere partner. Always remember Pakistan is occupied by Paki Army. It is India's misfortune that we have Pakistan as neighbor. Only solution is don't believe them and keep border secure.
What you will do when your next door neighbor is abusing your family, steal, trespass your house?
There are few solutions, either keep your house locked and secure or kick your neighbor out of area. In this case, neighbor is 166 million people. Kicking them out is not possible but yes keep border secure, no visa to Pakis, no cultural exchange, no train, no bus nothing.
Why to have any relationship with Goondas? Who with sane mind will bring criminal, abuser and trespasser inside your own home?
Physically remove every Paki from India.
Cut off most of the relationships with Pak. Reduce the number of visas issued there. Secure our border. Let Pakis sort out their internal problems first and then we can talk about resolving our bilateral issues.
If all relations are cut off and the two countries arenot in talking terms, how do u expect the resolution of the dispute.DO you think it is physically possible to secure the netire land border between India and Pakistan starting from the Runn of Kutch to Ladhak in J & K, so that no infiltration can take place?
Good fence makes good neighbor. Scare them, catch every paki or Bangldeshi in India, make them clean roads, rail tracks, beaches, Pork factory and deport them to their country. Next time they will think 10 times to venture inside India.
You are talking with them since 1947, are you able to resolve anything other than losing India's land, culture, demography and creating new breed of traitors.
Have you tried talking with gangsters, who is your next door neighbor? of course not. You had locked your door and kept your family out of his sight and makes sure he does not tries to shoot at you or when you are sleeping occupies your yard or side room (Lock will protect front door only). If I were in your place I will get best locks and best weapon to protect my family and make his life hell by loud music whole night. <!--emo& --><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Yes Mudy, it appears you do not have any course of action as to how India should deal with Pakistan. It is not an issue which can be resolved by pot shots normally heard in the Indian tea shops. You have quoted above the so called peace moves by India and bilateral talks since 1947. Perhaps you are yet to read the history of India- Pakistan bilateral interactions, which must be the reason of your lack of in-depth understanding of the situation. I presume you are an Indian citizen with a descent education and upbringing. You have difference of opinion, ideological and political with the Government of the day, which is the beauty of democracy. However, in showing your opposition to the policy of the Government of the day, to use the language that you are in the habit of using with reference to the Head of the Government is rather uncivilized, and particularly so in an international forum. Have you ever realized that by using such lowly terminology you are spoiling the image of your nation and the 5000 year old civilization that you represent?
<b>Ravish Ji :</b>
It is a fact of life that the Indian Government is bending backwards and granting more and more concessions to Pakistan without any reciprocation from Pakistan.
Examples are :
1. MFN Status Granted to Pakistan by India over 15 Years ago â India can safely stop the MFN Status.
2. India granting 120,000 Visas annually to Pakistanis to visit India (10,000 Monthly) whereas Pakistan limits Indians to 12,000 Visas annually to visit Pakistan (1,000 Monthly). Pakistan has been rejecting Visa applications even by Muslim Intellectuals to visit Pakistan â India should reduce the Number of Visas granted to Pakistanis.
3. India granting more and more Visas freely which I am sure are also used by a number of Pakistani Terrorists to enter India and perpetrate their Terrorist Acts â India can put in stricter Controls to ensure the Pakistani visitors being genuine visitors and not Terrorists i.e. checking on their Indian Sponsors and Relatives being visited.
4. All Pakistanis should by âRailwayâ Tickets at a âRailwayâ Counter in the Indian Diplomatic Mission or an I R Office in Islamabad. This will then ensure that the Indian Government and Security Agencies are aware of the whereabouts of the Pakistani Visitors.
5. A small point â micro indeed â is the Jinnahâs Residence in Mumbai where the Indian Government is again bending backwards and indeed our Foreign Secretary is labelling Jinnah as a âCitizen of the Indian Sub-Continentâ. Does the Pakistani Government respect any Property owned by Hindus-Sikhs-Jains who were forced to flee from Pakistan? No!
This India must stop treating Pakistan with Kid Gloves and ensure that it stops the Cross Border Terrorism with a reasonable period failing which all CBMs will be withdrawn.
Why is it that the Indian Government has to agree to all Pakistani Wishes, Demands etc. without any <b>Equally Reciprocating Response</b> from Pakistan?
Please note that I for one do believe in Live and Let Live but I cannot appreciate the Indian Authorities â Political as well as Bureaucratic â bending backwards and then being taken for a ride by Pakistan.
I trust you remember Pakistani Foreign Minsiter Kasuri's response to the Indian CBM of a "Cross-Border Bus Service in Kashmir". It was "Is the Indian Government providing this Cross Border Bus Service so that Pakistani Terrorists can find an easier and convenient way to enter India?" (Not exact words)

Anyway, this forum is not to sing songs for corrupts, criminals and abusers.
This forum is not run by Govt of India.
I don't believe in praising fools, and let world know who are ruling India. Indian citizens or Babus can't stop worshiping people who are abusing them, I hope you have heard Stockholm syndrome; ( link ) Indian society is a very good example. Nobody can spoil India's image by terminology unless and until itâs true. By exposing them at least they will try to fix. Look at corrupt government of India, Goons are protected by diplomats, PMO, President of ruling political party and it tickle down to lowest level.
One starts getting corruption taste from Indian consulate till you are back from India.
I don't live in dream world, I say what I see. Fix it. I am not destroying image, people who had closed their mind and eyes and think everything will be fixed on its own or everything is good because it will please their master. I hope you have heard Cat and Pigeon story.
Regarding Pakistan and India's relationship, could you list any achievement and direct number of causalities caused by Pakis to Indian citizens?

You missed how much we were against Vajpayee Lahore bus stupidity, track 2 and offering base after 9/11. Previous govt never escaped us and same was with corruption. They know how they got treated outside India. It doesn't matter who rule, fools get elected and they can be bought by lowest bidder and foreign trips. Atleast we are educating people don't send fools, criminals to Parliament or Rajya Sabha.
I am still looking for answer on this -

I have seen great success on India's International Dimplomacy e.g with Pakistan, Bangladesh, SriLanka......
<b>Democracy Under Arrest</b>
<i>Why is the Bush administration 'proud' to support Pakistan's military ruler?</i><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->THE BUSH administration offered another ringing public endorsement of Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf this week.<b> "We have a fundamental interest in the success of Pakistan as a moderate, stable, democratic Muslim nation,"</b> Assistant Secretary of State Richard A. Boucher said at a news conference Thursday in Islamabad during which he announced a $750 million aid package. According to the Associated Press, he added: <b>"That's the direction that Musharraf is leading the nation, and we are proud to work with him."</b>
.......
Mr. Boucher's rhetoric notwithstanding, some in the Bush administration argue that it's worth tolerating and subsidizing Gen. Musharraf's autocracy because it is an ally against terrorism. But there, too, the general does not deliver. He has handed control of Waziristan, on the border with Afghanistan, to the Taliban, which is allowing al-Qaeda to operate training camps while waging war against U.S. and NATO forces across the border. Both houses of Congress have passed legislation linking further aid to Pakistan to steps against the Taliban. Yet the administration stiffly opposes the measures; Mr. Boucher publicly assured Pakistanis that there would be no aid restrictions. <b>It's hard to understand why. Does the Bush administration really believe that its unqualified declarations of support will change this military strongman's behavior?</b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
<b>'Pakistan even behind Bhutan in educationâ </b><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->ISLAMABAD: According to the survey of an international firm, educational standards in Pakistan are lower than they are in Bhutan, and it is imperative to introduce changes to the countryâs deteriorating educational system, said Federal Education Minister Lt Gen ® Javed Ashraf Qazi on Saturday.

<b>EU ban on seafood exports: Pakistan to suffer $50m a year loss </b>
<i>* Ban comes into effect from April 12</i>
Nareshji,
Is it part of "Mission Isolation pakistan" or to stop Mullah march to Europe?
<b>Target for July-Feb missed: Exports shortfall widens to $820m </b><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Sources in TDAP informed that due to the shortfall in export of textiles against the target was the major reason in shortfall in total exports during this period. The exports of textiles stood at $6.187 billion during July-February period of this fiscal as compared to the exports of $5.867 billion in the same period in the last fiscal year projecting an increase of just 6.9%.
However, this growth is far below the estimates of 22% growth in textiles exports, which were projected by Ministry of Textile Industry at the announcement of textile incentive package worth Rs.25 billion approved by ECC. <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
