Hi,
I couldnt find the old thread so starting a new topic.Admins please merge it if one already exists.

Why has the default page been changed for the web site.I found the old page very convenient to browse through new posts.Now I have to go through as many as seven folders, which sometimes becomes a pain in the rear.Especially when you are checking the site every 15 minutes.

We were trying to find out which one is more attractive to bring more posters. As previous screen just shows last 15-18 updated post and lot of threads just dies as no one tries to check previous inactive thread even for one of two days.
Plus posters just open new thread without checking already existing threads.

We are just experimenting best way to have more readers and more posters and user friendly forum.

Or we can have one option for those who can have just have recently active thread and they can point there favorite setting to that url.

There is an option on top of current forum page which will take you to latest post.

I think Indian Sports should be a forum by itself rather than be put under General Topics. What do you think, admins?

Even if you make a seperate forum for sports........it would be still dominated by all the Sachins, Dravids, Gangulys and off course your's truly Sehwags <!--emo& Big Grin

Siddarth and Sunder, we went thru the stats for each thread and found that 95% of members are just reading and replying to threads in the first page(consisting of just 20 threads), while other more intresting and important threads are never touched. This will also lead the casual users to false conclusion that these topics are hot and others are not.

so we had changed the home page, but can still access that page here

Also, if anyone is watching TV during the Tests, could u please write a report each day? The "sports-writing" on REDIFF is <img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Flush.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='Flush.gif' /> and TOI is anyway all Paki.

We need some serious sports-writing. Link it off the front page every day, with a link to the cricket thread as well.

With these simple things, surely this forum can get into the Top 100, no problem.

I'm not against that particular forum and in fact I wish them luck, but as you know, if you rub any particular admin on that site the wrong way, you get banned. I had feeling that I was going to get banned soon.
