QUOTEIn a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.

Republicans
Is Obama Ready?
Email|Link|Comments (0) Posted by Isaac Mass August 28, 2008 07:10 AM

The Republican Platform Committee finished a more principled, readable and forward looking platform in-time to let the Delegates watch Bill Clinton at the Democrat Convention. I was amazed about how Bill’s speech seemed to be more about himself and Hillary than Obama. Most notably, Bill pointed out how Republicans ran against him saying he was too inexperienced and not ready to be Commander-in-chief.

He is right, we did. We did because he was. I hope everyone remembers that the first two-years of the Clinton administration were so bad that we elected a Republican majority in congress for the first time in over 40 years. From Somalia to the attacks on the WTC, from the bombings of US embassies in Africa to the attack on the USS Cole Bill Clinton repeatedly failed to take adequate actions as Commander-in-chief to end the threat of terrorism in the United States. The Clinton year’s policies lead us to the horrific attacks of September 11th 2001.

Is Obama ready? No, neither was Bill Clinton.

Hello!!! By such stretch of imagination Clinton policies could be tied to Katrina, Global Warming and Britney Spears divorce yada yada yada..

Did anyone watch the speech by Hillary and Bill at convention? Shows they are still a force to reckon with. And the grace with which they turned over support to current nominee, should shame that chubby Kennedy who in 80s behaved like a brat against Carter on convention floor.

They were forced to say. Clinton for legacy and Hillary to keep Senate seat and 2012.

By they way Mitt is McCain VP

Yes they are right; let me list of reason and Clinton failures.
Mogadishu - Came back without defeating Islamist, which only gave encouragement to Islamist world wide, that was next victory in Jihad.
Rwanda - Clinton failure, he ran away.
World Trade Center - Ignored first Islamist attack in US
Oklahoma City - Ignored inside problem
Waco
India - India is a major country in Indian subcontinent, no Ambassador nominated by Billy for more than year, when India was going through biggest churning
India's nuclear test - unable to detect what is happening in India.
[Those days I was working for a company whose one branch was anti Nuke lobbyist. When I came back to office next day after test, people asked me ,why India is doing, India don't have toilet plumbing in country etc. I told them I am not worried what India is doing, but I am worried where my Tax money is going, why administration failed to identify test. After that no one ever asked and said anything on test.]
Failed to stop Pak testing.
Kargil - Forcing Indians to bow down
Cole - Failure to stop Cole
Saudi Arabia - Baracks blast
Yemen - Failed to see problem.
Kenya and Tanzania attack - Failed to stop them
Osama-bin-laden - Inform Pakistan before hand that they are planning to bomb Osama hideout in Afghanistan. Just shows he was clueless about links between ISI and Taliban.
When Taliban was at their best suppression, His admin was trying to establish gas line.
He completely failed to understand Islamic Terrorism.
After Godhra he said India will break like USSR because country never united after independence because of different ethnicity/race. Go figure how much he know about India.
He is good in lying and using his charm.
He used spying agency to watch EU, finance deal worldwide, so that that they can help US companies and ignored Islamic danger.
If we have to seek simplistic explanation, wasn't it Reagan the republican who pumped money into Pakistan/Afghanistan hands over fist which is the root cause of all this?
Pakistan/Afghanistan nightmare was started by Great Carter whose main man raised arms and called Jihad.
Reagan did everything to destruct USSR.
They all started, but Clinton admin failed to see that these people are not killing weak Hindus but they can cross seas to reach US shores and they are not timid as Hindus.
He diverted resources to business spying.
After playing the race card and failing in S Carolina, the Clintons have no choice but to support Obama. Or else they confirm their issues.

The interesting thing is the remarks of Clinton supporters who are not reconciled to vote for the Democratic ticket. What is their real thinking? If they sit it out then, they are peeved. If they support McCain then its another thing.

Key foot soldiers who made over 17000 calls or spent their own money to fly to Puerto .Rico or South Dakota or who just rented cars, started websites, printed T-Shirts and campaign for her in different states had joined McCain campaign. These unpaid people really made difference from 8 point to 41 point victories for Hillary within one week. They are doing fundraisers, home parties and providing election fraud info to McCain Campaign. Even Hillary brothers are doing fundraisers for McCain. Donald Trump and other supporters are helping McCain. Basically, Regan Democrats will be voting for McCain.
Today BO had orgainsed his dog n pony show in stadium may not go well.
Plus today Al-Sharpton, Rev Moss and other had joined Denver gala. It will be interesting to watch next two weeks.

QUOTEThe truth about the mile high stadium. More force unity.

My neighbors’ daughter lives in Denver, where she works for a union.

She was told by her boss that she was going to have to go to the Invesco Field extravaganza “to represent the union.” She was given 2 tickets.
She asked everyone she knew to go with here, because she didn’t want to go on her own. Friends, neighbors…
NOBODY wanted to go.

She finally found a woman, through one of her contacts, who was willing to accompany her.

Is my neighbor’s daughter an Obama fan? NO. She will not be voting for him…

And yet, she is being forced to go on the orders of her boss…
Unbelievable? Not this year, not from this Democratic Party and their candidate….

Thats how BHO fills stadium, bus people.

QUOTEI got a message on my answering machine at home from a union that I don't belong to (obviously a wrong number)

The union guy talked some strong language about making SURE I watched Obama's speech tonight so the union would benefit from his presidency.

I erased it of course, it totally creeped me out that I would get that call considering my current feelings about Obama. What are the chances?!
Anyone with analysis on the Obama speech? IMHO, it was just perfect.
Will be interesting to poll numbers today (after McCain VP pick) and next weekend (after GOP convention).

QUOTEAfter playing the race card and failing in S Carolina, the Clintons have no choice but to support Obama.
What was the downside to Clintons to not support Obama? Bill's not ever going to run for any office. Hillary can't be candidate in '12 if Obama is sitting president, in '16 age would an issue for her. So Clinton's could have very well scuttled Obama candidacy like Kennedy did to Carter in 80s. With 10% of Hillary supporters still anti Hillary, she could have very well sunk Obama's dream.
McCain picked Alaska Gov. Palin
Good choice, woman, mother of 5, strong GOP candidate.

QUOTEOn September 11, 2007, the Palins' son Track joined the Army. Eighteen years old at the time, he is the eldest of Palin's five children.[10] Track now serves in an infantry brigade and will be deployed to Iraq in September. She also has three daughters: Bristol, 17, Willow, 13, and Piper, 7.[11] On April 18, 2008, Palin gave birth to her second son, Trig Paxson Van Palin, who has Down syndrome.[12] She returned to the office three days after giving birth.[13] Palin refused to let the results of prenatal genetic testing change her decision to have the baby. "I'm looking at him right now, and I see perfection," Palin said. "Yeah, he has an extra chromosome. I keep thinking, in our world, what is normal and what is perfect?"[13]

It was his regular stump speech, nothing new. Lot of gaff,
Slate is saying flat speech, regular media is laughing. Rush and Hannity will give clear picture.
