It is sad nevertheless to see Sachin not able to score. I mean single digit score in 8+ outing in tests is not Sachin. Hope he picks up a notch. I really hope it is not some experiment or change of style he is trying out because it ain't working.

Yet another inside-edge-draggin-the-ball-onto-the-stumps out for Dravid. The dude has gotten out umpteenth time that way. He seriously needs to work on that. Other guy who gets out like that is Kaif. Of all the people in the world I never expected Sachin to get out in similar fashion because he gets in line of the ball so well that it is unbelievable.

I don't expect a result. SA team will bat through the remaining time. And if not, there won't be much time left for India to eke out a victory.

Just going thru a lean patch. Maybe that tennis elbow is still nagging him. Havent seen him play after that injury so dont know if his hands are moving as well ? He should probably try a lighter bat for some time.. One thing is for sure tho, there is NOBODY who can stand up and give advice to him - if he cant figure it out NOBODY can.

My gut feel is wristy play induces that error (dragging) - not sure tho..

Rajesh,

Sachicn gotta start playing like the Sachin of the good oll' days. This watchful-play-safe-type game is not his cup of tea. He should play like he is known for. Look at it this way, he has only 3, max 4, years left. He should leave with people remembering him for what he was and not what he tried to become.

Regarding this game, we have about 50+ run lead right now, which should go up tp 100 or 150 runs. After that, it all boils down to Pathan, Kumble & Co.

But I do think we can win this one. If before the 4th day ends we can pick up Smith, Hall & Kallis......SA would under deep-Do-Do.

Let's see........

K,

Dont fall for the dorkish comments in newzpapers. SRT is batting god. I have seen this guy craft some of the most amazing innings ever. If this guy cant fix it forget it - nobody else can. Just give the man some time - he is a genius - he will figure something out. Remember what the same dorks were saying about Viru just a couple of weeks ago.. SRT is Viru^1000000.. <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Sachin is undoubtedly a genius. He improvises and plays some unbelievable shots.

Lets just say that we don't like his getting out early <!--emo&Tongue--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Krishna,

Watched Sachin's innings. He is not playing straight and that is getting him to trouble on slow low pitches. Saw him pat full tosses and half volleys straight to fielders.

Not only him, all the Indian batsmen except Sehwag have forget to play on Indian pitches.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the fourth day's play
       Sehwag fell early on day three and things started to change for
        India, South African bowlers kept of taking wickets at regular
        intervals and by the end of day three the game was almost back in
        the balance
       at the moment India lead by 54 runs with 4 wickets in hand.
       Pathan and Karthik have added 51 runs for the 7th wicket and this
        partnership now holds the key[/b]
       the cracks have widened and the spinners should get some assistance
        from now on[/b]<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

If we can even get a lead of around 100 to 150, Kumble n' Co. would become a real pain-in-the-u-know-where for the Proteas!

lets see if we can restrict the lead to 150.. Slow bowlers like ganguly should also be tried. wednesday morning qtr-backing.. <!--emo&Wink--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->For now, I won’t insist on the restoration of the Right to Throw Banana Peel, Plastic Bottles and Chairs. Maybe we’ll give those to our Elected Representatives to use in the hallowed chambers of our Legislative Bodies. Or maybe in ICC Board meetings. In motera stadium in ahmedabad we used to take some good solid bricks to express dissatisfaction. Rules changed and we had to resort to bottles, these days its just soft water bags - umps are having it easy, i say.. <!--emo&Sad--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> Dont even get me started on those refs (esp Lloyd -> whatsup with him ?) - thoroughly gora or wanna-be-gora b@stards.. N Guruji, superb article. But u missed including the Shoaib chuckters and brett pitcher lee and the Aussie whine, " Murali throwing onlee, while the Pitcher lee has a clean action onlee". Mcgrath's philosophical musings.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble were involved in a major mix-up. After completing one run, the batsmen were returning for the second when the confusion began.

Tendulkar decided against going for the second run, but Kumble continued to run awards he decided to go ahead with it. Kumble had decided to run back at the wicketkeeper's end as well and the two batsmen were in a race to that end.

The fielder was by now on his way to throwing the ball to the wicketkeeper Khaled Mashud, who fumbled and disturbed the stumps without the balls in his hands.

Tendulkar had completed the run and Kumble rushed towards the bowler's end.

Mashud, after a lot of difficulty collected the ball but threw it too long at the other end. Before the fielder at mid-off could field the ball and hit the stumps, Kumble had dived in to save his wicket. In the confusion he probably had run up and down the pitch thrice.

The sight of India's veterans scampering down the wicket had the dressing room in fits of laughter even as John Wright 's frown kept getting deeper with each passing second.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
