Christian Subversion And Missionary Activities - 6
Read particularly the blue bits. Christianism is famous for takeovers of organisations. (Catholicism does takeovers better with their cryptochristianism: it doesn't get caught as often as the more blundering evangelicals. Evangelicals are caught out below.)

In his annual National Day Rally Speech it is customary for Singapore Prime Minister to praise the achievements of his government in the past 12 months and raise peoples hopes for the coming 12 months. But, this year, to the surprise of many, he touched a subject that has been taboo for public discussion in this multi-religious nation of 4 million people for the past four decades Religion.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the son of the nations founding father Lee Kuan Yew spent more than half of his hour-long speech in English - delivered on August 16th - talking about the dangers to the harmony of the nation from aggressive preaching or proselytising. Though he did not name any religion, it was clear to most people listening to the speech and familiar with modern day Singapore society, that he was referring mainly to Christian evangelical groups, who have increased their numbers alarmingly, in the past decade.

There is nothing wrong with people becoming more religious because religion is a positive force in human societies noted Mr Lee. But, at the same time, stronger religious fervour can have side-effects, which have to be managed carefully, especially in a multiracial and multi-religious society.

In a brilliant speech designed not to directly point fingers at any particularly religion, he gave examples from around the world where religious fault-lines have created conflicts and riots. Singapore itself has learned its lessons in 1950 when religious riots took place here over a conversion issue, and this has influenced the countrys internal policies ever since.

Mr Lee admitted that this topic was a serious subject for a National Day Speech, which usually talks about babies and bonuses. But, due to some recent developments the Cabinet has advised him that he should take up this subject this year, which the premier described as a bonus lecture on a serious subject.

<b>He warned that aggressive preaching or proselytising causes a nuisance and offence to others. He pointed out two recent events where this happened. One when a Christian couple that distributed leaflets offensive to other faiths, was charged under the Sedition Act and jailed.</b> <b>And the other the takeover bid by a Christian group of one of Singapores oldest civil society organizations.</b>

There are over 50 new Christian churches that have sprung up in this small island nation in the past decade or more, which could be described as born again or evangelical churches. They are believed to have a combined war chest of over $ 100 million annually. Many of them aggressively proselyte among the countrys Buddhist, Taoist, Hindu and Catholic population that has created much resentments among these communities. Because of the taboos on public discussion on religion, particularly in the media, expression of this resentment has largely been restricted to internet forums and private discourses.

In March this year, such taboos were broken for the first time, when Singapores media, gave wide coverage to an event where a Christian evangelical group aggressively moved and successfully took over the countrys peak women rights lobby group because they did not agree with the non-government organisations s stance on homosexuality,

Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE), a fiercely secular organization formed in 1984 is Singapores leading advocacy group dedicated to promoting gender equality. It has been instrumental in successfully advocating for change in such areas as law reforms to tackle sexual harassment in the workplace, rights of women to sponsor foreign husbands for citizenship and equal rights for women in the workplace.

<b>At their annual general meeting (AGM) in March, the old guard, which has spearheaded these advocacy activities was voted out of office by a new group of women who have joined the association in the previous 3 months. Some 80 of the 120 members who attended the AGM were also new members. Six of the 11 positions in the management committee of AWARE fell to these new members, who are Chinese Singaporean women with good academic and professional backgrounds, but, all belong to The Church of Our Saviour, which is well-known here as an evangelical church with a strong anti-gay and pro-family stance.</b>

Suspicions of an evangelical takeover of AWARE was further enhanced when<b> the newly elected executive committee immediately made public statements accusing the old guard of promoting homosexuality and declaring themselves as pro-family a familiar word used by evangelical Christians worldwide.</b>

There was an overwhelming response to this takeover of AWARE with over 2000 new members joining the organization within 2 weeks of the event and calling for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM). At this EGM the Christian group was soundly beaten in a no-confidence motion, and a new executive was elected which is now representative of all religious communities living in Singapore.

Though only a quarter of <b>Singapores population are Christians</b>, the number of evangelical Christians among them have been growing, and they<b> belong mainly to the <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>English-speaking elite well represented in politics, medical, legal, financial and academic professions.</b>

Buddhists and Taoists make up over a half of Singapores population, while Hindus and Muslims account for the rest. Some 70 percent of Singapores ethnic Chinese population are known to be Buddhists.</span>

The Prime Minister spelt out 3 basic problems that could lead to disharmony in the society, giving examples to illustrate his points.

The first was aggressive preaching or proselytising. He said that from time to time the government gets complaints of groups trying to convert very ill patients in our hospitals who do not want to be converted and who do not want to have the private difficult moments in their lives intruded upon.

The second Mr Lee pointed out is intolerance - not respecting the beliefs of others or not accommodating others who belong to different religions. Sometimes, we have parents who have traditional religions (meaning Taoism or Buddhism), and children have converted away. Then when the parents die, and they have asked to be buried according to traditional rites, the children stay away from the funeral or the wake. It is very sad: reflected the premier.

The third problem he said was exclusiveness segregating into separate exclusive circles, not integrating with other faiths. It means you mix with your own people. You do not mix with others. You end up as separate communities he noted, giving the examples of people not wanting to do yoga or taichi because they believe it has religious meanings, when such communal activities could bring people together. Mr Lee believes that these are secular activities suited to all religious groups as communal activities.

Mr Lee appealed to Singaporeans to keep religion out of politics, to exercise restraint and to up hold sound moral values. He pointed out that all major religions represented in Singapore are free to propagate their teachings on social and moral issues, but within limits of tolerance and respect for each other.

The PM hinted during his speech that the government may invoke the 20 year-old Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act, which has never been used. Some internet forums and even a few letters published in the Straits Times have called for a prohibition of proselytising in public spaces.

While evangelists may think they are helping others, what would they think, if others told them they were praying to the wrong god, living life the wrong way and would never find redemption? asked Harvey Neo in a letter published in the Straits Times. It is imperative that proselytising in public spaces, particularly in schools, hospitals, libraries and workplaces, be prohibited, or at least strongly and explicitly discouraged.

    Friends,

We can complain about Christianity till Constantine junior with his Napoleon complex valiantly assumes the throne of India, feted by all the deracinated secular courtiers. It may not be rahul but the possibility of such a situation in the future should be seriously considered.

<b>The solution is to initiate a "narrative collapse" within Christianity and tie all the downstream ideologies to the sinking corpse. Christianity must be shown to be ideological and not truth-purporting.

The narrative collapse is in-built into Christianity.</b>

Please visit the following site and understand that Jesus is the mask of the conqueror Titus Flavius. <b>Thus, Christianity is an artifice for imperial aggression and that is *all it is*.</b>

<b> Every other word our mouths should be Titus Flavius, on every available media within our grasp.</b> (Take care not to lose your job nonetheless). Within few months every child should be thinking gali gali mein shor hain, <b>jebus christ, titus</b> hai - or something similar.

    Thanks.

Updated on Sunday, September 27, 2009

Bhubaneswar: Slain VHP leader Swami Laxamananda Saraswati, whose killing last year led to a large scale violence in Kandhamal, had incurred the wrath of a minority community since he had been opposing the role of Christian missionaries and alleged conversion, said Orissa's former director general of police (DGP) G C Nanda.

"I have come across various reports from time to time relating to the staunch pro-Hindu activities of Saraswati.

"As a result of this, he had become target of the ire of the rival community since he had been opposing what he perceived as the increasing impact of Christian missionaries and alleged conversion in the area," Nanda said in his affidavit before the commission of inquiry probing into the incident.

Nanda, who was the DGP when violence erupted in Kandhamal after killing of Saraswati on August 23, 2008, claimed that he did not have any information regarding specific threat to Saraswati from Maoists.

He maintained: "I believe that Naxalites probably expected to get cooperation of minority community in creating a solid base in the district to expand their activities by killing Saraswati."

This apart, Nanda observed that the "Naxalites possibly wanted to prove their secular credentials by killing the Hindu seer".

He also said: "They (Naxalites) were also crazy for publicity following such incidents".

Stating that security arrangement for Saraswati had been planned and was made based on the inputs available regarding the threat from "rival community", Nanda reiterated that there was no information available relating to threat from any armed extremist groups including Naxalites.

"As per the reports available, the Naxalites did not pose any threat to Saraswati and generally (they are) known to keep away from religious issues. In fact, the incident came as a surprise to all of us," he said.
(Yes, because these were *christian* communists. Not the plain vanilla kind.)

The former DGP further said: "Following the incidents of December 2007 (where there was an attack on Saraswati on eve of Christmas), the SP of Kandhamal was advised by the state police headquarters in January 2008 to provide adequate security to Saraswati during his visits and stay."

Admitting that the security arrangement at Jalespeta ashram where Saraswati was killed along with four others, was not adequate from Naxals, the former DGP claimed that the Kandhamal SP had provided more security than what had been prescribed by the State Level Security Committee.

Dec 2, 2005

According to a recent report by BP News, a website of the fanatic Southern Baptist Christian sect, their missionaries claim to have been successfully targetting the Hindu Lingayats for conversion.

The 15-million Lingayats, also called the Veera Shaiva community, are a deeply spiritual vegetarian Hindu sect predominantly concentrated in Karnataka state and parts of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

According to Marty Hunter, a Southern Baptist strategy coordinator focused on evangelizing the Lingayats to the Christian gospel, In our day, we are seeing a new response to Christ from the Hindu [Lingayats].
The website adds: ' When Marty and Jodi Hunter decided to accept responsibility for taking the gospel to Indias Lingayat people, other Christian workers didnt offer them much hope of success. In 1997, researchers could count only 800 Christians and no churches among the Lingayats.

People discouraged us, saying the [Lingayats] were hard-hearted, that the [proselytization] would be fruitless, Hunter said. Today were looking at about 3,000 [converts] - most of them people who have come to [Christianity] in the past two years.

<b>The number of Lingayat [converts] is growing so rapidly that Hunter believes they will see 18,000 [converts] in 1,000 house churches by 2006.'</b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

this honduran example is excellent. the christists came in and destroyed their native civilization and stole their land. all that the poor natives were left with is christist bullshit and blood-sucking godmen; they are clinging on to the goddess hoping she'll save them.

incidentally the biggest christist female shrine in india -- velankanni in tamil nadu -- was a hindu temple to the "vel ilang kanni amman", consort of muruga (vel-ayudha). the christists destroyed the vel ilang kanni amman temple and put up the monstrous church there.

stealing other's holy places is a major activity of all semites.

The Place of Christianity in U.S. Culture

The influence of traditional Christianity, as reflected in the activities and practices of most Christian churches, is diminishing in our society. The survey results confirm what most churches have experienced in the last two decades. While some mega-churches and meta-churches are visible and influential in our society, overall involvement in and attendance at Christian religious services has diminished. My research shows that church attendance in the U.S. is as low as 15-20% of the entire population on any given Sunday, and in some areas of the country is likely even lower. The problem is not that Christians are transferring to another (non-Christian) religion as much as it is that traditional versions of Christianity are being rejected. A better headline than that which appears above (and on the report) may be that the “traditional version of Christianity is no longer the default religion in the U.S.” The population is increasingly unchurched as traditional versions of Christianity fall out of favor. That the population is increasingly unchurched should not, however, be identified as lack of religious fervor or interest. Many are opting for personalized or individualized religions which pick and choose beliefs and activities, and do not necessary include a shared worship experience in a public setting. Many of these unchurched persons still identify with Christianity, but not with the traditional version of Christianity.

Conclusion: the place Christianity occupies in our society is less and less identified with traditional Christian churches (based on involvement and attendance) which are being rejected in favor of individualized religious beliefs and practices chosen from a potpourri of options which often includes non-Christian religious practices or beliefs.

O’FALLON, Mo. — With three small children and her marriage in trouble, Pat Bond attended a spirituality retreat for Roman Catholic women in Illinois 26 years ago in hopes of finding support and comfort.

Ms. Bond and Nathan read cards from volunteers for cancer support groups.
Readers' Comments

What Ms. Bond found was a priest — a dynamic, handsome Franciscan friar in a brown robe — who was serving as the spiritual director for the retreat and agreed to begin counseling her on her marriage. One day, she said, as she was leaving the priest’s parlor, he pulled her aside for a passionate kiss.

Ms. Bond separated from her husband, and for the next five years she and the priest, the Rev. Henry Willenborg, carried on an intimate relationship, according to interviews and court documents. In public, they were both leaders in their Catholic community in Quincy, Ill. In private they functioned like a married couple, sharing a bed, meals, movie nights and vacations with the children.

Eventually they had a son, setting off a series of legal battles as Ms. Bond repeatedly petitioned the church for child support. The Franciscans acquiesced, with the stipulation that she sign a confidentiality agreement. It is now an agreement she is willing to break as both she and her child, Nathan Halbach, 22, are battling cancer.

With little to lose, they are eager to tell their stories: the mother, a once-faithful Catholic who says the church protected a philandering priest and treated her as a legal adversary, and the son, about what it was like to grow up knowing his absentee father was a priest.

“I’ve always called him Father Henry — never Father, never Dad,” said Nathan, at home between hospital visits. “I always felt he picked religion over me.”

The relationship between Ms. Bond and the priest is hardly unique. While the recent scandals involving the Roman Catholic Church have focused on the sexual abuse of children, experts say that incidences of priests who have violated sexual and emotional boundaries with adult women are far more common.

Clergy members of many faiths have crossed the line with women and had children out of wedlock. But the problem is particularly fraught for the Catholic Church, as Catholics in many countries are increasingly questioning the celibacy requirement for priests. Ms. Bond’s case offers a rare look at how the church goes to great lengths to silence these women, to avoid large settlements and to keep the priests in active ministry. She has 23 years of documents, depositions, correspondence, receipts and photographs relating to her case, which she has kept in meticulous files.

Those files reveal that the church was tightfisted with her as she tried to care for her son, particularly as his cancer treatments grew more costly. But they also show that Father Willenborg suffered virtually no punishment, continuing to serve in a variety of church posts.

These days there is kind of raise of old Slavic pagan traditions in Russia. The followers of paganism build copies of old pagan monuments of wood and stone and then gather for some rituals. According to their point of view they try to reconstruct the true religion of Russian people that was destroyed by early Russian Christian church 1000 years ago when it came to Russia and violently converted local pagan population to Christianity.
But it seems there are fundamental Christians even nowadays in Russia who don’t like the raise of pagan traditions and try to follow their earlier inquisitor predecessors destroying the pagan places. On these pictures one can see one of such modern Russian ritual place before and after the Christian followers visit.
This is the “after” picture below. All the idols are cut with a saw and Christian icons are brought to “consecrate” the “unholy” place.
