This is a gimmick! It is an escape route for corrupt politicians!

I like Nitish and he should stick to his original plan to send corrupt officials to jail and seize their property.

[/quote] Original plan is not shelved and this is an addition on top of it. Original plan is probably, for big fish and this is for all starting from class 3 and even 4 moving upwards. Mind u, everybody can't be, perhaps sent to jail and I c it becoming national plan even in years to come. This is the need of the hour to tone up administration.

Quote:Christians in Tamil Nadu have launched a political party in the state, where a legislative assembly poll is scheduled for April 13.

Archbishop A.M. Chinnapa of Madras-Mylapore diocese formally launched the Indian Christian People’s Party (ICPP) on March 20.

He also unveiled the flag of the party, which has 150 members from all over the state.

“ICPP would be the political organ of the Indian Christian Church,” the archbishop said.

Founder member of the party F. A. Nathan said the founding team plans to build its membership among Christians, specifically Catholics in Tamil Nadu, before launching it in other states.

The founding committee of the party asked the state government to protect fishermen, provide job opportunities and contain inflation.

Costs in Kerala, lower than in Tamil Nadu, are still vastly more than the spending cap. "It's higher in urban centres and lower in hilly areas like Munnar," says D Dhanuraj, managing director of Kochi-based Civitas Consultancies. EC officials say Kerala's voters are so politically savvy that parties consider it a waste of money to bribe them for votes.

These days the EC videotapes rallies to record party vehicles and so on to tally them with declared expenses. It has also roped in tax sleuths to track movements of cash and booze. And sometimes, the watchdogs get lucky. Since elections were announced on March 1, the EC has seized Rs 2.85 crore in cash in Assam and Rs 3.11 crore in Bengal. But the haul from Tamil Nadu is an eye opener: Rs 18 crore in cash, 7,800 litres of alcohol, thousands of wristwatches, dhotis, sarees and shawls and, in a place near Salem, 9,000 detonators for explosives. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news...854123.cms

Vadivelu, is a household name in Tamil Nadu and not a single day passes here, without seeing his face in television channels. Though, he is a comedian, his popularity exceeds that of many heroes and cuts across all sections of people, beyond political affiliations. People respond positively to Vadivelu’s campaign as he recalls the incident and asks “Was it right to harm my fam, ily? Can a person with this kind of conduct be allowed to play a major role in politics? He says “If Vijaykanth grows more powerful in politics, he will be more arrogant and egoistic. Do not trust an arrogant, uncultured man like Vijaykanth. This is only a minor part of his speech, since Vadivelu devotes a major part of his campaign countering Vijaykanth’s speeches. http://www.tribuneindia.com/2011/20110411/main6.htm

min translation; political parties have innovated methods of vote for note in TN.

http://navbharattimes.indiatimes.com/art...970626.cms

When the electorate is polarised, BJP wins, because usually Hindu % is more.

A polarised electorate will mean the death of the congress

I hope AUDF takes away more bangladeshi votes from congress.

For folks who monitor Cho Ramaswamy's thoughts, looks like he is working towards an alliance of AIADMK and INC.

U don't have to monitor Cho; Amma herself was on TV saying that DMK was behind Rajiv's murder and on being questioned further said that indirectly.

On the other hand, Con(gress) party is spurning her olive branch by saying that Rajiv's murder can't be politicized. Moreover Con(gress0 party is not fool to go for a party w/ 9 MPs and throw the baby w/ basket by being already w/ DMK which has 18 MPs. Plus DMK will do everything in their repository to be on the right hand side of Con party at this juncture when they r uprooted in state and 2 of their MPs r slugging out in jail.

Surprisingly the bogey of vote division is not an issue any more. The Peace Party has taken the initiative and is part of Lok Kranti Morcha (LKM) headed by Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Ajit Singh which includes six small parties like Quami Ekta Dal headed by Mafiosi turned politician Mukhtar Ansari MLA.

“These Muslim-based political parties need to have a vision. If they have to carry forward Muslim politics they need to be open to ideas and coalition. It has to be borne in mind that they are effective in pockets only,” said Jilani. Echoing same sentiment, SQR Ilyas of WPI also states that his group is open to talks but not with national parties.

However, RUC chief Amir Rashadi has other ideas. “We can go for tie-up but leadership has to be with us. We are not in a hurry and will proceed with caution,” he said. http://www.dailypioneer.com/342183/Musli...-vote.html

I think JJ thinks attack is the best policy :-). Sonia invites her for a tea, so JJ goes to Delhi. Meets PM asks for crores of rupees for free laptops, and then comes out says PC should "go". In a way it is refreshing to see someone toying with INC.
