<b>BJP, Sangh plan Hindutva stir</b>
New Delhi, Nov. 17: In the raging political tussle over the Malegaon blasts, the BJP has joined hands with the Sangh Parivar and embarked on a move to turn the heat on the Congress-led UPA. Apprehending that the Congress is trying to consolidate its minority vote bank by cashing in on the Hindu terror plank, the BJP and the Sangh parivar have sent signals to the majority community by targeting the Centre for "misusing ATS" and planning rallies across the nation.
If the BJP tried to paint the Congress as "communal and anti-Hindu", the VHP called for a Jan Jagran rally with over 50 lakh ex-servicemen and sadhus marching together to protect "Hindus" against the UPAâs "witchhunt against the community."
<b>Peeved at the BJPâs Prime Ministerial candidate, Mr L.K.Advaniâs silence over the issue, the VHP leader, Mr Praveen Togadia, exhorted him to "speak up for being a Hindu himself".</b>
The BJP spokesperson, Mr Prakash Javadekar, asked on Monday: "Hindu terror, Muslim terror, Christian terror...what is this?" Mr Togadia lashed out:<b> "Hindus are victims of jehadi terrorism and today Hindus stand accused." While the BJP spokesperson tacitly defended the accused sadhvi, Pragya Thakur and army officer, Lt. Col Purohit, the VHP was more categorical.</b>
With certain contradictions emerging in the ATS investigation over the Samjhauta Express blast, the BJP and the Sangh outfits have decided to launch a counter offensive to corner the Congress. While Mr Advani has so far maintained a safe distance from the raging controversy, it was the RSSâ recent favourite, BJP chief, Mr Rajnath Singh who initiated the charge of his brigade on the Sangh line. On Sunday, Mr Singh attended the first rally of the Sangh parivar outfits attacking the Centre for targeting Hindus.
