Dara Singh, awarded life imprisonment for the murder of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two minor sons, Tuesday moved the Supreme Court challenging his conviction and sentence.

Why would Dara want access to the media, of all things? Because he wants to set the record about himself straight, of course. That's because he imagined the media did not have any religious affiliation - he imagined they would not be as biased as his jailors, prosecutors and convictors were in sentencing and mistreating him.

It is shameful, but true that this international conspiracy against India is succeeding. According to The Tehelka report, around 5000 Indians are getting converted to Christianity every day. The North east of the country is almost Christianised. An Italian Roman Catholic, Antonia Maino, a.k.a Sonia Gandhi, is running the country by proxy through a weak kneed coterie of spineless Hindus , Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, are ruled by Christian Chief Ministers, a Christian has been given charge of the nation's most sensitive organisation, the RAW, over the heads of several Hindu officers much senior than him, and <b>anti Hindu missionaries like Gladys Staines, an Australian are being awarded prestigious national awards for social work (read propagating Christianity and converting innocent tribals</b>, the Albanian nun Theresa of Kolkotta is given a Bharat Ratna and is elevated to Sainthood.

Back in Jan 2005, before some suspects were appointed and dragged to court on flimsy evidence that later came to naught, Rajeev Srinivasan considered who could have committed Staines' murder.
Rajeev's paras are still relevant, considering that Dara said he wasn't even present and didn't do it, and taking into account the fact that the courts and investigation never really found out who actually <i>did</i> do it in the end (thus making it still an open case):

The usual suspects, say the pundits: the Hindu extreme right-wing. However, as Sherlock Holmes might say, we have to consider the possible culprits and eliminate the less likely ones. And the possible villains would be the set of all who stood to gain from this ghastly deed.
Eyewitnesses say Stains' attackers conducted an operation with military precision -- obviously pre-meditated -- and then, before they left, they shouted pro-Bajrang Dal slogans. That last, however, is very suspicious. If it were pre-meditated and skilfully executed, why on earth would they leave their visiting card, as it were? Unless it was someone else pretending to be the Bajrang Dal, surely?
(Also note that whatever mob it was, it was also most curiously shouting Dara Singh's name even though he was not present. And it was only this that led to the investigators presuming that Dara was even there at the time.)
Who might that someone be? Who might be motivated? Perhaps someone who wanted to malign the Bajrang Dal
