<!--emo&:ind--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/india.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='india.gif' /><!--endemo--> The Congressâ Delhi election campaign, which had gone all out to highlight âprogressâ or âvikasâ under the Sheila Dikshit government, has begun
sounding increasingly defensive in the last few days before polling on 29 November.
The most apparent sign of this has come with the BJP slogan, âMehengi Padi Congressâ (Congress proved costly), getting prominence not only in the Opposition partyâs poll campaign, but also featuring indirectly in the Congressâ poll ads and in election rallies.
But, it is not just in its publicity material that the Congress is adopting a defensive strategy. Reacting to the threat of the BSP in the Capital, Congress leaders have begun to allege that Ms Mayawatiâs party and the BJP have an informal alliance.
