The nearly four-month- old and much-hyped Chand-Fiza wedding has come to an end.

Fiza, aka Anuradha Bali, on Saturday said her estranged husband Chand had divorced her by saying ‘talaaq’ thrice to her on phone from London.

“I will sue him for cheating and threatening me,” said Fiza, who converted to Islam to marry Chander Mohan, former Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana.

The duo had solemnized marriage in December last year in Meerut after embracing Islam.

“Chand called me on Friday night at 9.26 pm and repeated talaaq thrice. He even threatened me with dire consequences after the General election is over,” Fiza, former assistant advocate general of Haryana, said.

She, however, added a rider to the telephonic talaaq. “The divorce will not be effected unless done by him in person before me. If he has guts, he should come out from his self-imposed hibernation,” she said.

Keeping her tears at bay at the crowded Press conference outside her house in Mohali, Fiza said: “Chand warned me of dire consequences in an SMS. He said he and his family were due to elections.

“He told me to keep my silence as my maintenance allowance will reach me soon. He said if I opened my mouth, he will eliminate me,” Fiza added.

She accused Chand, a Congress legislator from Kalka, of killing her father, “as my father suffered a heart attack on the day Chand came to my house proposing marriage. He traveled with me to Hardwar and promised to be with me till death do us part.”

Chand has already got a clean chit by Mohali Police in connection with Fiza’s allegations of rape, cheating, intimidation and hurting religious sentiments.

Unwilling to give up, Fiza said she would fight to the finish to ensure justice was done to her. “I am not going to give up. I have already discussed the case with Supreme Court lawyers and will file a fresh complaint against Chand for threatening me,” she said.

Chand has reportedly been under severe pressure from his children from Seema Bishnoi to return to the family.

The catholic church has always been famous for pocketing money raised by christogovernments. From imperial Rome onwards. When Rome was still pagan, the church used to convert rich women and aristocratic families and make them give up all their money and lands to the church. This continued into later times when many aristocratic sons became priests and women were sent to nunneries: they'd donate their dowries and their portion of the familial inheritance to the church. The same happens now among converts in Bharatam. They end up donating their money and that of their family to the church upon conversion.

Christo tyrant govt in India ought to be ousted. Hindus should wake up to its blatant christoism. It's no different from when Bharatam was under bloody christoBritain's heel. Need a real War of Independence. Kick out christoislamicommunism once and for all from Bharatam (and then eventually from the entire Asian continent, and then from the world).

It does not surprise anyone that our main stream media have not carried this news at anytime.Some Hindu channels with national perspective have repeatedly beamed these videos.There are enough pseudo sickular voters in this country who do not see anything wrong with this move.Our own state announcing pension for the madarasa teachers is a fore runner to this policy.I think with this rehabilitation package the govt can legalise terrorism as a profession. According to the University, Rahul read for the MPhil in 2004- 05, and not in 1994-95, as stated in his affidavit.

His affidavit’s other claim, to have obtained his Bachelors from Rollins College in Florida, USA, is true (and is a departure from earlier claims by ‘supporters’ that he graduated from Harvard). He also briefly attended St Stephen’s College in Delhi, gaining admission through the sports quota.

His mother (and Congress president) Sonia Gandhi was also in a minor controversy in 2004 over her educational qualifications.

Her nomination papers’ affidavit claimed she obtained a certificate in English from Lennox Cook School, University of Cambridge, in 1965. After it was revealed that the school had no affiliation to the University, Sonia claimed that the error on the affidavit was the result of a secretarial typing mistake.

He said in India, there has been a tradition from the past, even in the 1962 and 1965 wars when late Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri had praised the role of Jan Sangh and RSS.

A rare exception was made in 1963 when Nehru asked the RSS to send a contingent for the Republic Day parade.

Transparency International recently exposed how the Indian government was avoiding asking for information from the German government about the billions of dollars of un-accounted money belonging to the people of India lying in Liechtenstein, a small German county. A number of other countries -- the United States, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Italy, Britain and Ireland --whose nationals are also included in the same list, are seriously collecting information from the same source about accounts held by their citizens. <b>The German government had issued an open offer to all governments to seek the truth from the records it had come to possess, free of charge.

Unbelievable but true, India is deaf to the offer. I had visualised such a situation long back while dealing with this issue in my book, Who Owns CBI: The Naked Truth, (Manas, 2007). I wrote: "It will not be easy to take any step in this direction, as the first obstacle will come from Indian elites, who are holding such accounts/ assets abroad. They will oppose any such move tooth and nail".</b>

No meaningful fight against corruption, black money and economic offences can be really successful without radical measures. I had attempted the analysis in the context of Switzerland alone and had assessed Indian wealth in that single country at $5 trillion. There are some other, well known slush parks: St. Kitts, Antigua, Bahamas, Isle of Man, etc. that would multiply such holdings manifold .Of course, Switzerland is the jewel in the crown.Needless to say, if the Indian wealth lying there is brought home, we would turn overnight into one of the richest nations in the world.

The countries of the developing world suffer heavily from the drain of resources. They are driven into debt traps. If the outflow of their resources could be checked, some of these countries, like India, may have enough of foreign exchange resources and may not need to avail international borrowings at all. But, what is happening is that other countries are developing and prospering at our cost. No wonder Switzerland has the second highest per capita income in the world, and they have their criminal banking industry to thank.

This drain from the third world will continue unabated unless certain structural changes are brought about. Banking secrecy laws give the Swiss banks undeserved immunity. However, the slush money accruing from the drug trade is treated differently. If it is suspected that the money in a bank has some linkage with narcotics, the secrecy laws stand automatically suspended. This was done on the insistence of the big western powers, as drug abuse is a major problem for their societies. After the attack on the World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001 money held by terrorists has been frozen.

For countries like India, all economic offenders, including the corrupt as also the cooperating Swiss-bankers, are financial terrorists or their harbourers. The major problem of the developing world is corruption, and the secrecy laws aid and abet it. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the people of countries like Switzerland are more like receivers of stolen property and are leading a parasitic existence.

This hypocrisy does not go well with their famed high stance on morality. They should abandon such laws and throw their banking business open and transparent. India should take up this question with Swiss banks, the western world and with all possible international organisations, including the UN, OECD, etc. The countries of the third world, and India in particular, should agitate for relaxation of banking secrecy laws.

Apart from bank accounts, another dimension is that property or some other assets that could be purchased abroad. Since the agency of one country cannot conduct investigations in another country, some rules need to be framed so that the particulars of deposits or properties held abroad could be known to the mother country, in the name of whose citizens these may stand.

The following measures are suggested in the Indian context and they hold good for all other countries similarly placed:

a) Whenever a bank account is opened by an Indian citizen abroad, the particulars of such account should be communicated to the Indian authorities, through its embassy/high commission in that country. On receipt, the account number and other details should be fed into the National Property Register (NPR) immediately and could also be compiled in the CBI. National property registered is visualised as a master computer that will store all the assets in the names of all the individuals with each being allotted a unique identity as per finger print classification.

b) If the person is found involved in some crime or a criminal case, particularly of corruption or any other white-collar crime registered against him in India, then the particulars of balances in account and the copy of the account, if asked for authentically by the investigating agency, should be supplied. One such nodal agency will be nominated by each country. In this context, the authorised agency for India should be the CBI. If any state agency or any other agency of the government of India needs some information, it could approach the CBI. The foreign bank/government should have no discretion but to supply duly certified copies of accounts/ information whenever demanded by the nodal agency, in this case the CBI.

c) Whenever an Indian purchases a property abroad, its details should be passed on by the registering authority there to the Indian Embassy/High Commission, which would transmit the same to India. This information could also be fed into the National Property Register and also compiled in CBI and used when required.

d) Details of all the properties and the bank deposits held abroad by the Indian citizens at present should be supplied to Indian Embassy/High Commission in the respective countries.

e) Further, on instructions from the CBI, the accounts should automatically be frozen, the lockers, the properties and other assets sealed and ultimately these assets be disposed of as per directions of the Indian courts.

f) For obtaining/supplying such information, the dual criminality may not be insisted upon, as corruption is a crime everywhere, only some technical details may differ. Similarly, the blanket sovereign guarantee of reciprocity may be executed once at the level of the governments and should not be insisted upon for every case separately as that causes tremendous delays.

Once this happens, hiding black incomes abroad would become very difficult and practically impossible. India will start looking up, immediately. But to get such amendments to their rules, India has to take other countries of the developing world along, build up a powerful lobby and initiate very persuasive and aggressive propaganda underscoring the point that we are also readily helping them in their fight against drug and terrorism.

The country expects action from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is revered as an economist, an academician and as an honest person. It's another matter that this image of him has been sculpted by the very people who have amassed huge wealth through fraudulent means. It may be argued that any government that tries to tinker with the status quo would fall as the elite of India, which includes the bureaucrats, are benefiting from Switzerland's famous secrecy laws. The moot point is, does the Prime Minister owe his loyalty to such criminals or to the nation?

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday disclosed that he wanted Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, the son of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, to be a minister in the cabinet, but Rahul refused.

"I always wanted Rahul Gandhi to be a minister, but he refused," Manmohan Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a defence investiture function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
(Not literally nepotism perhaps, but if sycophancy and bending over backwards can make one family, MMS must have been elevated to the Sonia family patriarch by now. And that *makes* it nepotism.)

"Power must be handed to the youth," the prime minister underlined.

Manmohan Singh's remarks come amid speculation about a role for Rahul Gandhi in the next government if the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by the Congress returns to power after the elections this April-May.

Repudiating the opposition's charge about the Congress' inability to handle coalitions, Manmohan Singh said the party had run the UPA coalition successfully for the last five years and had proved its ability to change with the times.

In a candid appraisal of his government's performance, the prime minister said he will give the UPA "seven out of 10".

Asked about allies like PMK leaving the UPA and other parties like Samajawadi Party, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) forging an alliance in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the prime minister said this was a result of local politics and not a reflection on the Congress' skills at managing coalitions.

Alluding to a slew of flagship development programmes of the UPA like National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and Bharat Nirman, the prime minister said that his government had achieved 80-85 percent of what it had set out to do and that these programmes were changing the face of India.

The prime minister's comments on Rahul Gandhi come three days after Congress president Sonia Gandhi endorsed Manmohan Singh's name as the prime ministerial candidate of the Congress and a day after Rahul Gandhi enthusiastically supported him, saying he had achieved a "hell of a lot" and had both toughness and grit.

After all is said and done INC was the vehicle to achieve Independence. From what I read under Gandhiji it was funded by Indian industrialists even till late 90s. The fund managers got bad name but were powerful entities- Atulya Ghosh in the sixties to Sitram kesari in the 90s. Bofors scam was an atempt by the Gandhii coterie to bypass local funding sources and break free. The eclipse of Sitram Kesari in late 90s ended the local funding component and the rise of outside support and reliance on Gandhi family fortunes.
The eclipse if it happens will allow the nationalists to emerge out of the pen-umbra of the Gandhi family. Such a group can assert itself nationally without the baggage of the carpet baggers. A pan nationlist group can help solve the problems of the region.

If Team Rahul gets so much support — and with radiant faces like Jyotiraditya, Sachin and Jitendra Singh — it is able to deliver in national interest, should we remain adamant and say: Hey, you are bad till you join our party? They are Indians and have been voted to power by an Indian electorate.

Think what India needed at a time when external security was under strain and internally terrorism of various varieties continued unabated. Recession has put off lights in a hundred million homes and diplomacy has to show its best with confidence when China makes ADB stop an aid to Arunachal, Tamils are severely brutalized and Swat remains a difficult zone for Delhi, though Kathmandu has given signs of relief, which needs further restrengthening of the non-violent democratic forces.

We wanted a stable government, led by a party with a national outlook, which is necessarily free in taking decisions and without any dependence on the Left and other fringe elements. And an opposition that’s pan-national in its policies, and strong enough to stop any wrong by the treasury benches.

We got it.

Should it make us sad, unhappy and remorseful?

In any case the young, vibrant faces we see peopling parliament, with less caste consciousness and stronger on the merit lines, will do better than their predecessors and please don’t count if they make mistakes-they will shine even if they make some, which are bound to be there in the land of ‘angels’ who have nothing else to do except criticize and belittle others.

India is passing through an ideological and programmatic transformation and the youth in the lead is bound to change the parliament’s body language and paradigms of behaviour. They are there in every party, though more glamorous and the powered will hog the headlines, thanks to the class conscious and politically correct media, the lesser souls will still be relevant and make their mark.

An India, which is strong militarily, sound economically and leads the comity of nations for a peaceful coexistence, needs only one brand "Indian", and definitely not a religious or partisan identity.

Those who couldn’t make it will have enough time to ponder and analyze why they got the drubbing. But those who have an unflinching faith in their ideology and are committed to their path of bliss will carry on working with a renewed vigour and confidence. If the conveyor belts are weak, you can’t blame the luggage for a failed delivery.

Let them think and come to any conclusion that they find appropriate.

To say that the issues raised by those who are otherwise known world over as Hindu nationalist group were wrong, will be unfair to India.

After all, was the raising of the issue of Kashmiri Hindus wrong?

Or demanding revocation of POTA and stringent measures against terrorists?

Or the agitation for the Amarnath land and preservation of the unique world heritage and a symbol of faith like Ram Sethu?

The nationalists opposed the divisive politics of Raj Thakcrey, who was propped up by the Congress to counter Shiv Sena. Was opposing Raj wrong?

The nationalists did Pokaran 2 and were committed to preserve rights for Pokaran 3 if needed. Was that against national interest?

On the eve of polls some said forget 1984 but remember Gujarat. What mentality did it show?

The nationalists wanted Article 370 to go and Kashmir fully integrated with the rest of India. Was that against national integration?

Should India be governed on religious fragmentation and parochial chauvinism or on the basis of egalitarianism, equal rights and privileges to all rising above communal lines?

Let everyone ponder: Hindus have been continuously assaulted for the last twelve hundred years. Do they have a right to preserve their heritage and way of life after a partitioned independence or not?

These are the existential questions before the nation and not the other way round.

True that most of the opposition was fragmented, filled up front pages of the newspapers with internal brick batting (Rampur, Lalu-Nitish- Paswan-Congress) . But that doesn’t make a stark fact diminish that many of the media houses were seen to be working against a particular section of Indian polity. Some becoming an instrument to oppose Hindu assertions maligning them with celebrative enthusiasm for irrelevant happenings like we saw at Mangalore pub. Their (‘fair, objective and independent torch bearers of freedom of expression’) controllers, writing in newspaper columns and on their blogs, had nothing but a decisive opposition and acidic hate for a particular section of the Indians who asserted their dharma. These Hindus were demonized for their civil assertions and all the media space was given to the one-sided attacks on them like the Taliban did in Swat. How the owners of the channels, writing politically partisan columns in papers that blatantly support a particular political party, would allow a debate that can be closer to objectivity and does justice to the other viewpoint?

So what?

They could do what they did, not because they were too overpowering, but because the other side miss-stepped their plans. In the last eight decades, when did Hindutva get applause by this politically correct press and if their steps were strong, when was it able to stop the march?

Prudence demands perseverance and a rational faith in what we have believed in to come up with new idioms and an inclusive appeal that does justice to the cause so dear to the followers.

That’s the cause of India.

Mother India needs the ideology that reflects the glory of our civilisational contours.

The ideology that has been fortified by the martyrdoms and dedication of thousands of unknown and unsung foot soldiers led by Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya. Both the great stalwarts were murdered mysteriously in their early fifties. They became leaders of a mass party when they were in their forties. And remember they initiated Bharatiya Janasangh, and not Hindu Janasangh, hence their vision was essentially all-inclusive.

Trust in the ideology that is the only reason of organization’s birth and survival and don’t get besieged by the flood of assaults in this time of low tide is the message of this mandate for the vanquished. Hindutva is a way of life and not a political instrument like water supply and reservations. Its wrong, completely a falsehood if someone says it spreads hatred. It’s the only ideology that guarantees pluralism on equality. In fact the most hateful ideologies are those which stifle the other voices defining secularism as anything anti-Hindutva.

Suresh Rao (Bhaiyyaji) Joshi, the sarkaryavah (Gen Secy.) of the RSS said in an interview with me that Hindutva is not a political subject or a parameter but a way of life. So don’t politicize it. Hindutva encompasses essentially good education, rural development and urban infrastructure. There is no alternative to good governance and a lifestyle that rhymes with the ideals that are espoused. Ram symbolizes material happiness too based on the righteous approach for all. Wherever they could show it, they won.

The fact that the nationalist groups are running largest number of service projects, hospitals, blood banks, Thalasaemia care centres, cerebral palsy treatment centres and hundreds of thousands of schools, is overshadowed by political ups and downs. India still produces young, bright, meritorious people who work in remote areas of this land for the socio-economic development without ever caring whether they are mentioned in media reports or not. Five thousand bare foot doctors’ centres in the villages are being run. That’s the real core of Hindu organizational work. With undiluted love and amity for all. If India rises, who falls, is the touchstone of all their actions and utterances.

Nationalism means India first without getting embarrassed or apologetic for our Hinduness. The situation demands a better solidarity and not further divisions. It requires an intellectual commitment to India as envisioned by Sri Aurobindo.

We must prove ourselves worthy of it.

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has termed the electoral victory of P Chidambaram in Sivaganga constituency as sham and a disgrace to democracy. Swamy said this while addressing the media yesterday.

Raising doubts over Chidambaram’s victory, he said that in spite of the Congress candidate lagging in every round of the vote count, he was announced to have won by the Returning Officer.

‘The officer issued the certificate within two minutes the results were announced. Never before a Returning Officer had issued the certificate with such urgency,’ he said.

The Janata Party leader also sought a suo motu inquiry into credibility of EVMs used in the recent elections. He suspected that the victory of Congress Party in about 75 constituency was achieved through fraudulent means.

Dwelling on the Sri Lankan Tamil issue, he said Tamils should get equal rights in the island nation and India should take steps to ensure the same. ‘Prabhakaran is over. LTTE is finished. But the need of the hour is addressing the main issue of ensuring Tamils’ right to equality, and Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa should honour the promise he had made in this regard,’ he added.

Since India had ‘contributed’ to Sri Lanka’s successful war against the LTTE by supplying defence equipment such as radar, and sending medical teams, it should make sure Tamils were treated with equal rights and the necessary Constitutional amendments must be put in place to ensure this, he said.

Citing reports quoting D R Karthikeyan, head of the CBI team that probed into Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, as saying that attempts were made by many political leaders to ‘manipulate and derail’ investigation, he sought a probe into the charge.

On reports of Prabhakaran being alive as claimed by his supporters, Swamy said that Rajapaksa had informed External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee about Prabhakaran’s death. ‘A government will not lie on such matters as its credibility will be at stake in the future,’ he said.
