Police file FIR against Varun Gandhi<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->"this is not a 'Hand' (Congress symbol), it is the power of the 'Lotus' (BJP symbol). It will cut the head of ....... Jai Shri Ram."

The media censored the whole statement.
Well, at least it now seems he didn't attempt threatening Rama. That's something, I suppose.

That's the most useful words out of him yet. Whether any action is to follow from him that will support such words is beyond my guessing abilities.

<b>WRONG, see below:</b> But the fiasco so far shows that:
1. Varun Gandhi denies having ever made the sort of bravado statements he was supposed to have made
2. Varun Gandhi swears to psecularism

Either way:
- Only Hindus and Hindu Dharma have come out looking bad: the libel is sticking (thanks to christokkkangress and christomedia, who else).
- And there is only yet <i>another</i> psecular for Hindus to look forward to (as per Varun's affirmation to that end).

Since we had seen enough from secular media, coverage of Orissa nun rape case, Gujarat riot, Malegaon, Rama Sena etc., we should give benefit of doubt to Varun Gandhi that the tapes could be doctored. Even the news that an old Sikh was sent back should be considered with a pich of salt. Let's wait for a few days before making judgement.

Janata Party (BJP) group after the Lok Sabha polls, warned senior Congress leader and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi.

"Mayawati's BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party), Naveen Patnaik's BJD (Biju Janata Dal), Deve Gowda's Janata Dal (JD-S), Jayalalitha's AIADMK....check the record of the parties associated with the Left. All of them have worked with the BJP in the past. Then what is the guarantee that these so-called secular parties would not go with the BJP after the elections?" Ravi asked.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/T...how/4285144.cms
Varun Gandhi's statement about the doctored tape recording needs to be supported by the BJP leadership particularly Mr Advani and Party President Rajnath Singh. So far the manner in which the BJP leaders are making statements indicate that they do not believe Mr. Varun Gandhi on this issue. They should have followed with a statement similar to the one made by Shiv Sena. Unfortunately they are not ready to loose the entire Muslim vote bank perhaps and so their reluctance to support Varun Gandhi.

The infight within the BJP is taking up so much time and energy of the top leadership that they do not have time to seriously plan for fighting the forthcoming election in a serious manner. With so much increase in the cost of fighting an election , with charter rates for both helecopters and Beechcraft aircrafts going up every party needs several Mittals this unfortunately Mr Jatley is perhaps not realising. It is now a very big money game and whichever formation wins the race will try to make up financially in the next five years.
CongI is looking for an excuse to prevent BJP from contesting the election. They have installed a puppet President and will have a puppet CEC to execute this plan. BJP's strategy to distance from Varun's statement must be seen in this light.

Shamuji,

If the Congress had been that powerful then it would had the guts to fight the election on its own at least in UP with its 80 seats to the Lok Sabha and would not have been shabbily treated by other partners in Bihar , Utter Pradesh and West Bengal. Its position is so weak in most of the States that it is in no position to stand up against its own partners. Therefore, to say that it will have its way in conducting of the elections or in illegally influencing the verdict of the people is rather unrealistic.

The Civil Society, the media and the judiciary are all functional and so are the political parties both on the Government side and in the opposition. Today, money power and misuse of power will not be able to influence the outcome of the election to an extent in any State that the final result will go against the verdict of the majority of the voters. There can be minor aberrations in a few polling booths and that is not going to make any major change in the outcome of the results of any particular parliamentary constituency.

No national party is expecting to go in for a large scale success only on the basis of religion or caste to be successful on a National Level. It is somewhat different for the Shiv Sena as it has to address a captive electorate and same is the case with the AKALI Dal in Punjab. Religion is not a major factor un TamilNadu and in Kerala except for the Muslim League’s captive constituencies there is no other place one can go in banking entirely on the religious plank.

Therefore, the BJP has very rightly distance itself from the controversy surrounding Varun Gandhi. Given the ground realities of contemporary Indian political scene, as a national Party the BJP cannot afford to be seen as a Hindu political outfit. The old image of BJP has undergone a change and it needs to maintain this image if it wants to succeed in the national level. In this context you will observe that in the immediate past the top leadership of BJP no longer talks of Shri Ram and Ayodha temple etc. Even if there is no large scale support of the Muslims yet it can get a sizable support from the so called secular Hindu electorate and this will give a great boost to its election prospects.
you live in some strange unreal world. Strength of Congress-I is not public support but its extra-establishment tentacles. it's cronies are entrenched in all major columns of power, including Rashtrapati Bhavan, Election Commission, CBI etc. That is what it uses to retain power, and to even bully its currupt allies like Mulayam, Laloo and Pawar.
Yes Bodhi that means there is a collective failure on the part of the entire political spectrum barring the Congress. The combination of all the major political outfits not associated with the Congress could not prevent the take over and it is so complete that there is no open protest on the streets of the great cities of India. If that is tghe cse, the Congress should be rewarded for its efficiency in subverting the entire social , political and judicial machinery of India. This reward be to allow them to govern India for the next five years. There is no need to go through the drill of the general elections.
Ugh. Not you again.

Anyway, on another matter:

the semites have had a field day as swing voters. of course they vote en bloc as suggested by their godmen. in places like kerala, with hindus reduced to a small minority, this is our last-ditch chance -- as the semites divide up the spoils amongst the reds, greens and whites, we can at least control which of the thugs come to power, and extract a small ounce of flesh for that.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->Rest at link
Exactly!! Rajeev Srinivasan is such a marvel.

That is exactly what concious Hindus must openly and vocally resort to doing not only in Kerala, and not only during Elections, but all over India and throughout the horizon.

Stop being a "sold" supporter of a said Party. Stop being jubilant "Friends of X". Because by doing that, you have already seen that the said party and leaders take your causes for granted. Dont do that. Make them earn your vote, by being an issue based supporter. Do my work, take my vote.

Learn from the success of Jammu Hindus. Amarnath Movement leadership flatly rejected offers of party platform for their movement. They were open to members of any party that would come to their cause. During elections, they declared that they would elect candidates from any non-anti-national parties who announce support for their cause. This made the local Congress, even NC, to rush to their support. And they did do swing voting by letting each of the 3 parties have almost equal seats from Jammu! Now Cong, NC, BJP: all have to compete for their support.

Do this swing voting, stop being a Sold Out, be open to all parties whichever takes up your cause, and then see how Laloos and Mulayams, Mayawatis and Mamatas will rush to become Soft Hindutva. Gone are the days when we hoped to have a solid Hindu party. Shed that dream for now.

<span style='color:red'>BJP is not a temple building company: Naqvi</span>

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--> New Delhi, March 21 (IANS) Going totally against what Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh had promised last month, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that his party is not a temple construction company.
“BJP is not a construction company to build a temple, mosque, church and gurudwara. We support the cause that there should be a Ram temple in Ayodhya, but it has to be done with consensus of the religious groups and organisations through negotiations and talks. Or according to the court’s verdict,” said Naqvi, who is vice president of the BJP, in an interview to Gulf News Friday.

<b>(=> If BJP holds that Hindu-Moslem negotiation and court verdict are the only two ways out, and not a legislation in parliament, then BJP's stand is exactly the same as Congress stand.)</b>

Naqvi, who is the most prominent Muslim leader in the saffron party, is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.

During the BJP’s national council meeting at Nagpur last month, Rajnath Singh had said: “Building a temple to Lord Ram was the party’s nishtha and aastha (vow and aspiration). We will build the Ram temple.”

He had said that the BJP was waiting for an opportunity and would make a law when they come to power at the centre with a majority.

<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->BJP spokesperson <b>Prakash Javadekar</b> agreed with Naqvi's views saying the BJP and the Rashtriya Swamsewak Sangh (RSS) have no political interest in building the Ram temple in Ayodhya. <b>"Never in the history have we said that BJP will construct the Ram mandir. It is the Ram Janma Bhoomi Trust which has taken upon itself the responsibility of constructing the Ram mandir. RSS never expected the BJP to construct the mandir and take the contract of constructing it. Temple is a religious thing. The government doesn’t do that, the government solves the problem and it will ensure that there are no hurdles. So what we had started was a dialogue between two communities that will be carried forward and will come to conclusion and mutual understanding is the best solution or it is the court direction which will come," said Javadekar.</b>

<b>(=> Mr Javed-Kar, you are ignorant.  Even before BJP, and much more than BJP, it is to the credit of Chandra Shekhar and then PVN to have started a daily hearing on the issue, and an organized debated between the two parties.  Not sure you ever heard the name of Koenraad Elst but pls ask for a copy of Ayodhya and After.  In comparision to Chandra Shekhar and PV Narasimha Rao, NDA regime did not see any progress on these two things during 6 years of their rule.)</b>

<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Amid the controversy, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad clarified the matter while defending Naqvi.

<b>"What he (Naqvi) has stated is essentially correct because we have never in the past said that BJP will personally construct the temple. The responsibility of constructing the temple is with the Ramjanambhoomi Trust which has undertaken it upon itself," Prasad said.

"BJP will only facilitate construction of the temple," he said.</b>

(Facilitate, as in...? What about the legislation in parliament?)

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>BJP as construction company‏</b>
Radha Rajan

Good evening all of you. I am happy to see such a large turnout today. there is coffee, icecream and garmagarm samosas for you all at the end. So i hope you will all stay until the end.

Naqvi sahib, your leaders have not condemned your statement that the BJP is not a construction company to build temples, churches, mosques and gurdwaras. Does this mean that Advaniji, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley also support your view?

Jaitley? Is he around? I thought he had crawled into a hole and pulled the hole behind him. This is off-the-record of course. Hahahahaha. But seriously, yes, our tallest leader Advaniji and one foot shorter Rajnath Singhji are fully behind me on this issue.

Mr. Naqvi, are you saying that the BJP has abandoned Ayodhya altogether?

Yes, you all probably know that the then spokesperson Sushree Sushma Swaraj ji has already called Ramjanmabhumi an encashed cheque. Kashi and Mathura of course were dud cheques which bounced even earlier.

Mr. Naqvi, please can you repeat it again for our viewers? Has the BJO finally distanced itself from the Ramjanmabhumi imbroglio?

Imbroglio? Woh kya hota hai? (This as an aside to his aide hovering anxiously behind Mukhatar Abbas Naqvi). Yes. Please look at it this way and look at the positive side. I was instructed by the party high command...

You mean Sonia Gandhi?

Yeh kya bakwas hai? No, our party high command instructed me to say we are not a construction company which builds temples, mosques, churches and gurdwaras.

What is the positive side here Naqvi sahib?

If the BJP will not build the temple in Ayodhya, the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board also cannot ask us to re-build the Babri Masjid.

And what about cow slaughter?

Arre baba, if we are not a construction company, we also have no stake in the meat industry one way or the other. The BJP thinks cow slaughter must be taken up only by the Vegetarian Congress. Of course we will support it from the outside.

And article 370? Will you give up demand for article 370 also?

Of course. Our tallest leader has already made the official BJP position clear that the geography of Pakistan is already a fact of history. So how can there be any inconsistency here? The BJP beleives that only Article 370 can enable J&K also to become a fact of history like Pakistan.

Mr. Naqvi, Mr. Naqvi you havent said anything about uniform civil code.

If the BJP is not in the construction business or in the meat indistry, how can it be a marriage bureau or a marriage counselling centre? Thank you all, pl enjoy your samosas. Namaskar.

Mr. Naqvi, one last question Sir. How do you think the change of guard in the RSS is going to affect the BJP.

It has de-moralised some of us, especially the BJP's minority morcha. The RSS has been claiming that it has several Muslims in its ranks. It is time for the RSS also to change significantly. We hope the next sarsanghachalak will be a Muslim. Now that will be the end please. Enjoy your icecream with your coffee.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

The Representation of Peoples Act, according to Krishnamurthy, categorically provides in eight paragraphs guidelines to the commission on the implementation of the model code of conduct.

BJP should not be cowed down by this unwanted and unsolicited advise from the EC.

BJP should nominate Varun and he is a sure win for the BJP even if he stays home and not campaign. Ordinary workers should campaign for him and teach the secular terrorists a lesson.
<!--emo&:clapping--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clap.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='clap.gif' /><!--endemo--> There is none in the party or the general public who questions L K Advani’s agility, sharpness of mind and physical stamina, besides his mature responses based on 55 years of experience. To berate his chronological age without admiring his intellectual calibre — which may be fashionable for a section of the chatterati (comprising non-voting classes) — is not only repugnant but also totally removed from the reality of the popular mood at the grassroots.

Starting with big-ticket economic reform, the ambitious highway development programme and rural roads project, to affordable farmer loans, ‘dial-108 for ambulance-at-your-doorstep’ scheme, the visionary river linking project — the BJP is several steps ahead of all parties in terms of practical ideas to make India a developed country by 2020.
