<!--QuoteBegin-Pandyan+Aug 20 2008, 10:16 PM-->QUOTE(Pandyan @ Aug 20 2008, 10:16 PM)<!--QuoteEBegin-->62 million, wow. That is 95% of the current TN population.

Is this Jesus Math?

<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->Yes jesus math. Entertaining isn't it? Large numbers, however fake, makes them feel better.

But they are feeling very confident to brave so preposterously bloated a figure, so there must be a large number of crypto christians (nowhere near 62 mill of course). There's always a factor we have to divide the numbers christos quote to get to the actual estimate, but this factor varies from country to country.

Funny how their brag of 62 million in TN would mean >5% of India's population is christian if <i>only</i> christians in the state were counted, even though they regularly repeat their sob story of how they're a 2% minority in India when they're at 6%. Shame that instead of being embarassed they often feel proud of their lies and continue repeating them. So we should hold their lies over their head regularly <!--emo&Smile--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

However, there are many crypto christians in TN - at least, they are positioned in pivot places, where they often playact as pseculars and use Hindu names (throwing themselves uninvited into discussions with "I am a Hindu too, but you are all Hindutva") and at other times they start by saying how they are not at all christoislamic but are objective and then go about praising christoislamicommunism and quoting the missionary handbook against Hindu Dharma. You can always tell a crypto christian from the fact that they are <i>pseudo</i>-secular to a tee or play feminists or even 'objective' communists (while trying to thrash only Hindu Dharma).

Must not underestimate importance of pivot points, a good distance will provide better leverage which means less force needs to be applied. Even when their numbers are nowhere near the majority, they have a lot of clout because of the strategic places they occupy.

Their ideology encourages lying - the "62 million" claim above being but yet another instance. They're following in the footsteps of some early santa - another christian who also couldn't count to save his life and so made up some large figure to make the harvested sheep feel less alone. (The christian saints and church held that maths was devilry so don't blame him for his ineptitude; and the only 'math' in the bible concerns the vast multitudes of people that fictional terrorist gawd jeebusjehovallah regularly smote.)

And the search confirms:
http://freetruth.50webs.org/Appendix1.htm Historian Joseph McCabe:
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->First of all let us make quite sure that the triumph had not been substantially won, as ordinary believers think, and religious writers encourage them to think, before the conversion of Constantine. How many Christians were there in the Roman Empire in the first decade of the fourth century?

[...]
This point is of very great importance and interest, and we are going to study it for ourselves. One reason is that the estimate is difficult, and the figures vary from five millions

[...]
The Christians were mainly in the ignorant east, especially Asia Minor (which had a larger population then than now) and Armenia. Antioch was the greatest city of the east, and it had half a million inhabitants. Its famous bishop and orator, <b>St. John Chrysostom</b>, tells us that he had in it one hundred thousand followers about the year 385. This was after seventy years of imperial favor, under the fanatically Christian Emperor Theodosius and the greatest orator of the Christian world. I would add that the figure is (as religious writers forget to say) a mere guess. What John really says, in a sermon in which he has every reason to exaggerate, is: "I believe we reach the number of a hundred thousand." In any case, we can safely assume that seventy years earlier even at Antioch, the heart of eastern Christendom, there were not more than fifty thousand Christians.

[...]
In short, it is liberal to grant, in the year 310, three million nominal Christians amongst the hundred millions of the Roman Empire; and the persecution had driven most of these back to the temples. Moreover, the vast majority were in rural Armenia (to which Schultze assigns no less than two million out of his three million seven hundred and fifty thousand), Syria, and Asia Minor. The gospel, after nearly three centuries of propaganda, was a failure.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
