The Haji's who went to Haj by taking Subsidy from our pockets were denied boarding as they were not ready to pay the excess baggage! Usually if flying by Commercial flights only 20 kg of checked-in luggage and seven kg of hand baggage are allowed, But those going with Haj Subsidy under Govt. of India are getting an added benefit of 45 kg of checked-in luggage and 10 kgs as hand baggage free of cost. Even after this added allowance on baggage they still want the Government to pay for their excess baggage!

LUCKNOW: A convention on âAllegations of Terrorism and Muslimsâ has cautioned the Central and State governments against the official machinery targeting innocent persons .
Solid evidence should be gathered before a person is arrested for his alleged involvement in a terror act, it said.
Inaugurating the convention here on Saturday, the president of the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Rabey Hasni Nadwi, said Islam did not allow terror or any other act of violence.
It was regrettable that terrorism was being associated with Muslims. Maulana Nadwi said that it was a crime even to make such an allegation.
He said the country had witnessed many other incidents of violence, which were not included in the category of terrorism.
General Secretary of the All-India Milli Council Manzoor Alam demanded a judicial commission to conduct an open hearing on the arrests made in the last 15 years in different parts of the country.
He said the officials responsible for persecuting innocent Muslims in the name of terrorism should be punished.
âUnmask real terroristsâ
The convener of the Rajasthan Muslim Forum, Engineer Mohammad Saleem from Jaipur, said the Muslims of the country were passing through testing times. Admitting that terrorism is for real, Mr. Saleem said efforts should be made by the government agencies to unmask the real terrorists and forces trying to divide and weaken the country.
The Hyderabad-based assistant general secretary of the Muslim Personal Law Board, Abdul Rahim Qureishi, said allegations of terrorism were meant to break the confidence of Muslims. He regretted that terror acts elsewhere in the country were being linked with the Mecca Masjid blast in Hyderabad.
He said hundreds of innocent youths were arrested in the aftermath of the mosque blast.
He alleged that a section of the media was controlled by the police agencies.
Welcoming the participants, AIMPLB member and Naib (deputy) Imam of Lucknowâs Aishbagh Idgah, Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, demanded a White Paper on fake encounters and urged the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments to release the innocent Muslims arrested on charges of terrorism.
The convention was organised by Maulana Khalid Rasheed, Maulana Mohammad Ahmed of the Jamaat-e-Islami (Hind) Uttar Pradesh unit and Maulana Saeedur Rehman, Principal of Darul Uloom, Nadwatul Ulema, Lucknow.
<b>Islamist terror, spreading its tentacles steadily across India, had crossed the Vindhyas some years ago. Now it seems deeply entrenched in Karnataka.</b> It is disquieting but not surprising that a jihadi terrorist training camp has been detected right under the nose of the authorities, and for the first time, in southern India. The interrogation of three arrested Islamist radicals and subsequent investigations which have unearthed a thick forest area flanking Dharwad and Uttara Kannada districts of Karnataka being used for nefarious purposes, has revealed much more than the existence of terrorists in this part of the country. It has partly explained the phenomenon that could well have turned local doctors into the Glasgow bombers; one of the arrested jihadis, Mohammed Asif, is an MBBS student. The woods, surrounded by religious shrines, had been serving as training camps of Islamist recruits, teaching them how to use firearms. Most obnoxiously, Pakistani flags have been found fluttering mockingly at the camp whose existence has sinister implications, <b>indicating that the terrorist network in southern India is much wider and better organised than what was so far believed.</b> It's now understood that the recent spate of terrorist attacks in southern India -- from the shooting at Bangalore's Indian Institute of Science to Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid blasts -- were no flashes in the pan. <b>These have all been part of a concerted plan by groups such as Lashkar-e-Tayyeba to extend terrorism's scary hold on more and more parts of the country and inflict increasing injury to the Indian state. </b>Bangalore has, in particular, been a target for long, with Islamist terrorists' indefatigable efforts to build capabilities out of this city as part of attempts to build bases in southern India.
Though Islamist terrorists did not find much initial success in the south for want of enough recruits, they have been resilient and finally been able to vitiate and motivate the minds of many in the local population to execute their nefarious plans. The exposed training grounds are indicative of a natural progression whereby the various terrorist outfits, networked with Pakistan -- prime suspect Mohammed Ghouse worked for a terror outfit in Pakistan -- have been expanding their activities. <b>That they have been allowed to establish a base in Kalghatgi speaks volumes of the apathy India's security issues have received from authority although the Prime Minister does tend to lose his sleep when potential jihadis are picked up.</b> It is surprising that each time the issue of Islamist terrorism in southern India is raised, it is swept under the carpet as if the problem does not exist. The latest revelations have come as a wake-up call. <b>If the Centre and the State Government continue to sleep, India will have to bear the cost of their monumental folly</b>.

The Union Government on Thursday decided to reimpose the ban on Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) for two years for its alleged links with certain Pakistan-based terrorist outfits.
"The ban, which is in force till today, will be reimposed tomorrow for two years," a senior Home Ministry official said on Thursday.
The decision to reimpose the ban under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS).
Nearly three-dozen outfits including Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami, have been banned by the Government for their links with terror outfits, most of them based in Pakistan.
The decision to continue the ban on SIMI was taken as the group continued to indulge in unlawful activities, the Home Ministry official said.
The ban on SIMI was imposed for the first time in September 2001. SIMI was initially banned for two years after intelligence reports showed that its cadres were joining Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) and was providing logistical support in setting up of "sleeper cells" in the hinterland. Some of its members had also received training by Lashker in Gulf countries. The ban has been extended subsequently.
SIMI has been accused of carrying out terror attacks across the country, including the Mumbai train blasts in 2006.

The police found the cache of explosives based on the information given by terror suspect Mohammed Asif during interrogation. <b>Even though the suspect had tried to mislead the police with regard to the exact location of the explosives a major breakthrough came on Thursday evening.</b>
Co D IG M R Pujar, senior officers S S Khot and Sudhakar took Asif to Halligeri and recovered a hand bomb, 100 wire caps and 85 gelatin sticks packed in a bag.
Asif initially said that he had forgotten the exact location. But the police continued their search in the forest for more than one hour. Later, Asif took the police to the spot and the police unearthed the explosives. Asif reportedly told the police that he and other terrorists Adnan and Asadulla Abubakkar stayed in the jungle for one night to prepare the explosives.
Earlier the police had recovered a timer and a detonator, used to trigger off sophisticated explosives like RDX, from Asadullaâs room at Hemanth Nagar in Hubli.
Sources said that Thursdayâs discovery was a major breakthrough in proving the fact that terrors had established a network in the region. <b>The latest developments may also help the police to trace the exact destination of a huge consignment of explosives reportedly transported from Bangladesh to North Karnataka.</b>
Meanwhile, the police took a hotelier from Belgaum into custody for alleged links with Adnan from Bijapur, who is now at large. Sources said that the hotelier spent several days with the suspect terrorists.
A popular night spot on the Baga-Calangute coast that attracts thousands of young party goers had been zeroed in for a strike by terror suspects Riyazuddin Naser and Asadullah Abubaker who are in the custody of the Karnataka police.
âThey were looking for a crowded tourist place where they could do the most damage and had zeroed in on a night spot in North Goa,â Inspector General of Police Kishen Kumar told Deccan Herald.
A team of Goa Police dispatched to Karnataka has learnt from interrogations that Naser and Abubaker made three trips to Goa in October and November last year. They travelled here twice on a motorcycle to survey possible target locations in North and South Goa, and returned to Karnataka the same day. On the third occasion, they travelled by bus and spent a night in a lodge in Panaji which did not even record their stay. âThey wanted to strike around New Yearâs eve when Goa is packed with tourists,â Kumar said, underscoring the fact that with over 20 lakh holidayers a year, Goa was a âsoft targetâ for a terror strike.
<b>One attack would set the tourism industry back by 10 years, the IG said stressing the fact that tourism industry had an equal responsibility in improving security measures and co-operating with the police in keeping a proper register of guests and tenant verification.</b>

Between 40-70 students of KIMS(Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences) Hubli are reportedly missing. These students are reported to be the accomplices of the naser and abubaker and conducted an clandestine meeting in their hostel room some months before he was eventually arrested.
