Assault on Taslima Nasreen
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>Taslima leaves with a threat </b>
Taslima: Bitter goodbye
New Delhi, March 19: Taslima Nasreen left India today, pouring scorn on her host for years.

The Bangladeshi author, who had been put up in a Delhi safe house since being forced to leave Calcutta late last year, boarded a British Airways flight to London early this morning.

She was to take a connecting flight out of Heathrow, perhaps to Sweden, whose passport she holds.

The author, who had been railing at the Indian government for putting her under “virtual house arrest” for the past five months, had no kind words as she bid goodbye, probably for good.

Before stepping into the BA aircraft, she apparently told security officials accompanying her that she would go around Europe exposing the way a<span style='color:red'> “supposed secular democratic country” had treated her. </span> <!--emo&:cool--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/specool.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='specool.gif' /><!--endemo-->

When you give someone shelter you agreed to provide such person protection, what current Indian government did, they created an environment for her slow death.
Taslima was attacked by militant Islamist of India and majority of them were actually illegal Bangladeshi, what Indian govt did, they gave illegal Bangladeshi ration card and despite knowing their illegal status, they went in front of Supreme Court that it will be inhuman to send them back to Bangladesh, but allowed these illegal Bangladeshi along with Islamist of India to start riots in Calcutta and called it attack on Islam and target Taslima. This just show how corrupt is Indian government, how they are encouraging fanatics and Islamist and how Indians are brainwashed that they agree that Indians gave them shelter and now Taslima should sing songs for Sonia or Death to her.

Wake up!!!.
I am not saying Taslima should praise the present UPA government but she <b>should not attack India</b>.
<b>She should attack India </b>because ruling people represent India and Indians allowed them to rule India.

<b>So India should be ashamed of itself.</b>

For a remote case of swiss staff rape, press called every Indian to hang head with shame. Press is silent on this issue, where I can find heads and shame. PM Manmohan Singh lost sleep seeing terrorist family on TV, now he must be partying with GB road dames. <!--emo&:bhappy--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/b_woot.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='b_woot.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:beer--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='cheers.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:guitar--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/guitar.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='guitar.gif' /><!--endemo-->
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->KOLKATA: Controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen, who left India for an unknown destination on Wednesday, voiced her bitterness against the <b>Manmohan Singh government accusing it of being no better than "religious fundamentalists."  </b>

Talking to reporters from London's Heathrow airport before taking a connecting flight after she left New Delhi on Wednesday morning on a British Airways flight, the 46-year-old author refused to disclose where she was heading saying she did not want to "compromise" on her security.

"If I disclose my destination my security will be compromised. My face has now become recognisable and I could be target of religious fundamentalists," she said.

Taslima, whose India visa was extended for further six months last month, alleged her human rights were infringed in the last four months when she was brought to Delhi after being hounded out from Kolkata.

Taslima said she will not hesitate to discuss what <b>she said was the traumatic experience she allegedly went through during various international seminars lined up in Europe in the next few months.</b>  <!--emo&:cool--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/specool.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='specool.gif' /><!--endemo-->

"I was put under tremendous stress but I could not speak out as I was under their (government) surveillance and could be harassed by them," she said in a choked voice from the British capital.

<span style='font-size:17pt;line-height:100%'>"The government (Indian) is no better than religious fundamentalists," </span>she said.
Nasreen said she used to call the government safe-house in Delhi where she was put up as the "torture chamber".

"I gradually came to realise that it was the chamber of death instead," Taslima said, adding she was forced to leave India because of "extreme stress" that she went through the last four months.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Mudy in the last century India was portrayed by the Western media as land of snakes and elephants. In this century they are trying to portray it as the land of fundamentalists and taslima's statements will only provided them an handle to attack India.

Understand the psy-ops opeartions going on and the need to counter them. Blindly blaming all Indians for the sins of the upa will do no good.

Don't worry, we tolerate every nonsense comes out of India. Our skin had become very thick. In place or covering it, fix it and be vocal to let ruling idiots know that rest of world don't get news from Doordarshan or 10 Janpath but there are other news outlet which gives clear picture of world and India.
Mudy why are you reacting emotionally rather thinking logically? Why blame India for all the sins of congress loonies? BTW i dont get my news from DD or Janpath. There are over 300 channels in India. If you care to come to India try to watch them and understand that India is not Western media portrays it.

This is my last post of this. Hope you will understand.
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->In New Delhi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhry described the attack as “an attempt to Talibanise India” and said she would seek an explanation from the Karnataka government on the issue. “I am absolutely horrified at the insensitivity on the eve of Republic Day. I will seek an explanation from the Karnataka government as well as the self-styled Sri Ram Sena.”

“This (the incident) is an attempt to Talibanise India. There is no place for these kind of acts in India as it is a democracy,” Chowdhry said, adding that the BJP leaders should condemn the incident. She said it is time for Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to “wake up” and take action against the culprits. <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->Hyperventilating Renuka Chowdhary
I'd like to compare her current outbursts with those from her home state when actual elected officials went ahead to slap Taslima Nasreen, - Cong ruled state if I might add. Anyone with any records of comments by Minister of Women and Child development on assaulting Taslima?
Taslima article: Mangalore tense, curfew relaxed in Shimoga

Tension prevailed in parts of Mangalore while there was calm in Shimoga town on Wednesday which witnessed violent protests over an article purportedly written by Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen.

Unidentified persons had thrown a petrol bomb on the office of Kannada Prabha, a prominent Kannada daily which had carried the translated version of Nasreen's purported article in its Sunday edition, besides stoning a local English eveninger in Mangalore on Tuesday night.

Authorities have imposed prohibitory orders in the city and posted police pickets at all sensitive areas, besides deploying additional forces.

No untoward incident has been reported so far since last night, police said.

Meanwhile, residents of Shimoga heaved a sigh of relief after authorities relaxed curfew in the morning to facilitate purchase of essential goods.
I never wrote any article for Karnataka newspaper: Taslima

Exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen said on Tuesday that the appearance of an article in a Karnataka newspaper purportedly written by her, which triggered violent protests in Shimoga and Hassan towns, is a "deliberate attempt to malign" her and "misuse" her writings to create disturbance in the society.

Nasreen said in a statement made available said she never penned any article for a newspaper in Karnataka.

"The incident that occurred in Karnataka on Monday shocked me. I learned that it was provoked by an article written by me that appeared in a Karnataka newspaper. But I have never written any article for any Karnataka newspaper in my life," she said.

Nasreen said, "The appearance of the article is atrocious. In any of my writings I have never mentioned that Prophet Muhammad was against burkha. Therefore this is a distorted story."

The author said, "I suspect that it is a deliberate attempt to malign me and to misuse my writings to create disturbance in the society. I wish peace will prevail."

The violence in Shimoga, the hometown of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, left two persons dead, one of them in police firing on Sunday.

Nasreen, staying in an undisclosed destination due to security reasons since her return to India last month, had her visa extended recently by six months till August this year.

Replying to a question, she said she would not like to say anything other than the statement issued by her.
