People misuse PM, so we don't activate.
You can request people to give you personal email address.
Yes, all member activation is by approval only, we get 100's of spam registration so for now we are keeping the registration process by admin approval. This weeds out the forum spambots. Leaving it open will create a lot of spam posting with the good posts getting buried.
On PM we had an incidence of misuse by a member and we decided we will remove those privilages as well.
The basic objective of this forum is to provide a free, infromative meaningful discussion and we like to keep it that way.
The IF admin approval of member registration policy is a good one. Dont mind lekhin, a lot of trolls and spammers get through and spoil the general atmosphere even on BR for they dont have such an admin approval policy.

In this case, IMHO, it would be advisable to ban that particular user, or prohibit that user from sending Private Messages, rather than completely disable that facility. Why throw out the baby with the bathwater?
By actually restricting the kinds of communication and networking possible, this has somewhat <b>prevented the creation of a closer community</b> on India Forum.

In an open forum like this if one cant say it in the open then its not worth saying. Besides members have the option to exchange their e-mail addresses.
The IF member registration policy has led to order and decorum. For instance there are no spam attacksfrom bots posting objectionable links which is common on BR and detracts from its stature
Most admins are part time hobbyists and keeping track of trouble makers is a full time job. Especially dedciated folks who want to bring down the forum. The greater good should always be kept in mind.
I did put some interesting Article of Forum, but it disappear after two hours, Most prolly there is a bug somewhere. or Admin dos't like it,just curious

There is no bug, we are deleting them.

You are creating 6, 7 news topics everyday.
The threads aren't deleted out of any personal malice against you.
Otherwise all your threads would have been deleted, isn't it?
Please try to understand that creating threads on existing topics do not help anyone.
(i) it wastes storage/bandwith on the forum
(ii) it confuses the readers as to which of the two threads is more/less relevant to read/post
(iii) putting new threads on existing topics exhibits a chip on shoulder or lack of willingness to be part of an existing online community
(iv) it dosen't extend basic courtsey to others who are already discussing this subject/topic in the original thread
Bottom line is that thread proliferation's frowned upon, here or anywhere else.
Can the admins start a thread exclusively for DRDO(Defence Research and Development Organization) where the latest projects being researched and the projects that have successfully been developed and inducted into the indian security forces can be discussed.

If anyone want to know what happens when every Tom,Yang and Musharraf is allowed membership should visit IDF
and see what is the result. The forum was started with an goal of having an discussion on indian defence matters but has denigrated into a forum where the chinese and the pakis post anti-india topics and moderators dont even care about deleting them. Instead indian members who try to stop such posts are summarily banned.
The admins there dont even care as they are busy minting money from the google ads and the paid so-called "premium" service they are providing.
If anyone reading this has any "special skills" in computers please use them bringing down such forums.

Perhaps you can post the news on communist slavery there? Was this about the Chinese version of Russian goolags (I read something about it once but never saved the link. It would be useful to collect links on it.)
Communist China is hell for the Chinese. There are a number of immigrants in my acquaintance who consider themselves more like refugees in exile; they're very scared. Imagine being that afraid of your own country. Huskyji thank you for the link but i wanted to know if there is any threads where we can post day-to-day news reports on only china, so that if any new events occuring in china can be discussed.
If there are no such threads then it would be better as many interesting news events are occuring like the slavery scandals,poisoned pork being served, medicines laced with toxins,childrens toys found to contain harmful heavy metals.
