That's cruel.. no one deserves such treatment. For people who don't know this story. Lakhpat Rai and Jaspat Rai were two brothers living in Lahore when Lahore was constantly being exchanged between Abdali (durrani) ruling from Kabul and Mughals ruling from Delhi.
Zakriya Khan, Meer Mannu, etc the governors of lahore would promise tribute to Mughals and then pay to Abadli or vice versa. Lakhpat Rai was a diwan of Zakriya Khan and was in charge of collecting revenue from villagers. Punjabi villagers some won't pay (and most of them were Sikhs) and in one such skirmish Lakhpat Rai's brother Jaspat rai was killed by Sikhs of Buddha Dal who were protecting a village telling him to take a hike as they only pay taxes/tribute to Almighty., refusing them jaspat rai ordered his mughal army to use force, a Sikh named Nirbhau Singh climbed upto Jaspat Rai's elephant and beheaded him.
This infuriated Lakhpat rai and he swore that he will not put his pagri on his head until all Sikhs are dead. He started hunting them all over Lahore district., massacring over 7000 and he was also responsible for Martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singh and Bhai Mani Singh.
Well in the end. Mir Mannu (the Mughal governor of Lahore) decided to shift loyalties to Afghani Abdali and told Lakhpat rai to pay 400,000 rupees which he couldn't, a Sikh sympathizer of Lahore named Kaura Mall was made Diwan and Kaura Mall handed Lakhpat Rai over to Sikhs while paying 400,000 to Mir Mannu as a ransom. The punishment that Sarbatt Khalsa picked for Jaspat rai was to put him in a dungeon while using dungeon as a Public lavatory, he survived for whole six months in there. (Sarbatt Khalsa means a decision taken by a uninamous voting of all Khalsa)
Now.. that punishment is probably 100% apt for Dawood and his ilks.
