WASHINGTON: The Kashmiri-American Council will hold its annual conference on Kashmir on July 20 in Washington.
According to an announcement by council Executive Director Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, the council in association with the Association of Humanitarian Lawyers and the Kashmir Centre will devote this yearâs one-day meeting on Capitol Hill to âSouth Asia: post Bush visitâ.
A declaration is issued at the end of the one-day meeting, which is also addressed by a number of members of Congress.
Those invited to attend and speak at the conference include several from India, Paksitan and the United Kingdom. The people invited form India include: Daily Telegraph Editor Bharat Bhushan, Prof Kamal Chenoy of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jammu and Kashmir Press Association Chairman Ved Bhasin, New Delhi journalist Gautam Navlakha, and Kashmir Times Editor-In-Chief Anuradha Jamwal.
The Pakistani invitees are: Gohar Ayub Khan, Prof Robert Wirsing, Prof Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema, Talaat Hussain, Prof Ashraf Saraf, Pakistani Kashmir President Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan and Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan.
The invitees from Europe are: Prof Nazir Shawl, Barrister Majeed Tramboo, Marjan Lucas of The Hague, Lars Rise, Mr Kumar Wanchoo and Dr Ghulam N Mir.
Those from the United States include Oslo Ambassador to the US M Yusuf Buch, Prof Ali Khan, Mowahid Hussain Shah, Pakistanâs US Ambassador Mehmood Ali Durrani, Prof Mumtaz Ahmad, Hyder Syed, Karen Parker, John McDonald <b>and Dr Angana Chatterji</b>.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
