The proof is in the pudding. TN BJP might have an uphill battle against the dravidian parties....I grant them that much. They have a great glass ceiling to break. Irrespective of the dravidian parties, bulk of the TN people are religious, pious and superstitious (just like other parts of the country).
On what basis do you say they are hard working? TN BJP website wants me to throw up.

Swaraj said she had personally brought to the notice of the Prime Minister and Home Minister P Chidambaram, the other two members of the selection panel, the "fact" about charges of corruption against Thomas in two-decade-old Palmolein import case in Kerala but they had "persisted" with his appointment.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday won all the five seats in byelections held in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, dealing a psychological blow to the Congress. The real setback for the Congress came in Madhya Pradesh where it lost the Kukshi seat, held by Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi, to the BJP after 21 years. BJPââ¬â¢s Mukam Singh Kirade, husband of Madhya Pradesh Minister Ranjana Singh Baghel, defeated Nisha by a margin of over 16,000 votes.
The BJP also won the byelection to the Sonkatch Assembly constituency, with party nominee Rajendra Verma defeating Arjun Verma of Congress by over 19,000 votes. The BJP wrested this seat from Congress after a gap of 15 years.

These result are on expected lines. The main question is the strenth of INC in UP AP and Maharashtra. Also if there are more revelations of scams etc. The main setback would be Assam. The opposition had a good chance to defeat Congress. But if AGP is bikau then BJP has a chance to grow. If it gets 15-20 seats, it will be great. WB is Mamata show. Kerala was expected. Only question mark is TN.
The formation of JPC is also good. But based on the reports in Outlook they have already decided what will happend. Raja in dock and MMS gets away lightly.
BJP obviously will do things like Advani to puncture its own campaign. Advani should just retire gracefully. Creating more problems than adding value.

My point is the country is looking for younger leaders; people like Advani have to take Chanakaya types of role - work from behind the scenes. Hopefully they have the wisdom to assess themselves and do what is right for the country and part.
