The following might be of interest. It says RSS advised LKA to start his yatra the very next day after BR was beaten out of Ramlila Maidan. Some supposedly insider view on BJP.

The facts are that seats are won on a per-constituency basis.

The next fact is that once muslim % > 25% in any constituency, Hindus start getting nervous and vote BJP, soley as an anti-muslim or anti-xtian party.

Which is why BJP gets 30% of the vote in Hyderabad, consolidating 60% of Hindus, and overall in Andhra, less than 3%

Congress trying to destabilise my government, says Modi

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused the opposition of conspiring to dislodge his government and said that the governor was touring the state on behalf of the Congress during a anti-corruption rally.

Almost a week after his Sadbhavana fast, Modi, was addressing

the rally at Vastral, on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

"The dignity of the governor must be maintained. We believe in democracy and people's power," he said.

The rally comes just days ahead of the next court hearing on the appointment of state lokayukta.

The rally has been organised to counter corruption allegations and demand the recall of governor Kamla Beniwal.

Beniwal appointed retired judge RA Mehta as Gujarat's lokayukta last month, a choice on which the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reservations, making its move at the high court.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani chose not to attend the rally.

Meo Muslims attack Chandupura Dalits, get VHP support

The Milli Gazette

Published Online: Apr 08, 2011

Print Issue: 16-31 March 2011

After violence against Dalits at Husaipur village in Rajasthan the Meo Muslims too have now attacked Dalits of Chandupura where too the violence erupted on a trivial issue.

The houses of Dalits from Jatav community were stoned for around two hours by Meo Muslims after a goat belonging to a Dalit family entered a Meo Muslim’s farm. Special Task Force has been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident. The situation in the area is tense but presently under control.

Of the many injured the condition of six Dalits remains serious. Dalits have alleged that stones were hurled at them in the presence of police and civil officers and they are concentrating more on compromise meetings instead of providing adequate relief measures.

In an unusual move the local unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has extended support to the Meo Muslims.
Has this been confirmed from legit sources? (Asking since Milli Gazette is an islamic mouthpiece. Not the sort of thing I'm used to taking at face value.)

Because, if true, I don't get why Hindus continue to stand for this.

Sooner or later, Indian nationalism - 'Hindutva' - always turns against Hindus (I obviously mean the heathens among those who wear the label) in order to woo their enemies.
The question looks like it's meant for people over at vijayvaani - I suspect no one here knows (for sure) what they are and aren't aware of.

As long as Modi and co. don't make dangerous concessions to christoislamism in order to get elected, and as long as they do the Right thing thereafter, Hindus can't complain.

And if Hindus do get taken for a ride: it won't be the first time and they'd on average be no worse off than if the ones they imagined they were rooting for didn't get elected. I.e. worst case scenario: it's a choice between the "Congress A-Team" and "Congress B-Team" after all - to use phrases that were seen on the Rajeev2004 blog - and Hindus really have no one batting for them. (So what else is new.)

Hindus appear to have resigned themselves to playing the watch-and-wait game anyway: "demand the best and expect the worst". Hindsight will reveal whether this was the right tack for Hindus.

Sudheendra Kulkarni advised LKA to say 'Mohammed Ali Jinna Zindabad' and that split the BJP. He should have been sacked then and thrown far far away from the BJP. However he continue to remain the ghost leader of the defunct leader and advised him to set a trap for the Congress by making his MPs ready to be bribed in the cash for vote scandal. Now Kulkarni and the 'bait' MPs are in jail!

Hope Amar Singh speaks out and perhaps that might help. In any case those from the opposition who voted for the govt. are the ones to be proved as bribe takers. But how to prove? Then there is the other side of the coin viz. the bribe givers. Again the question is how to prove that also.

Poor Advani has embarked on yet another Rath Yathra to prove himself! No wonder the RSS is turned off.

Don't you see the disconnect that Advani invented an excuse to stay away from the mammoth rally that Modi had organized?

NEW DELHI: A special court on Tuesday slammed police for arresting only some of the accused in the cash-for-vote scam - a ground which former Advani aide Sudheendra Kulkarni cited in his favour during his arguments for bail.

"They (prosecution) have no justification for arresting 2-3 accused and leaving behind others. They cannot pick and choose," said special judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal. She denied bail to Kulkarni and ordered that he be taken into judicial custody till October 1 after which the court is to hear his regular bail plea. The court also reserved for Wednesday its order on the regular bail plea of Amar Singh who is out of jail on interim bail, which too was extended till Wednesday.

Kulkarni had not appeared before the court on two previous dates despite summons to him as he had been travelling in the US. Seeking interim bail, Kulkarni said he was a "whistleblower" in the case.

On the court's query as to why he did not inform the law enforcement agencies immediately after the BJP MPs were approached for their votes in lieu of bribe to influence outcome of the confidence vote, the lawyer said, "I (Kulkarni) did not inform because I wanted to expose it in the Lok Sabha." The court also heard the arguments of Amar Singh. His counsel referred to AIIMS's latest medical report on Singh to claim that his client was not well and deserved to be granted bail on health grounds as even after two weeks of treatment, his vital parameters were not stabilizing. At this, the judge said as per the report, Singh needed constant monitoring, which he is receiving in hospital. "You need to be monitored and it is the doctors who would monitor his (Amar Singh) health condition. Is it so that he would be monitored at home only," the judge asked.

Govt failed to protect minorities in Bharatpur: BJP

PTI

SHARE · PRINT · T+

BJP on Monday attacked the Congress government in Rajasthan for the riots in Bharatpur alleging the State administration had failed to protect the rights of the minorities as all the victims were Muslims.

A delegation of BJP MPs, led by spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain, visited Gopalgarh in Bharatpur where a clash had taken place between the Meo Muslims and Gujjars on September 14. The BJP leaders met members of both the communities to find the reasons for the clash and study the ground situation.

At a time when the Congress is in trouble with the 2G scam, the meeting of the BJP National Executive meeting was expected to be dominated by the current political issues of national importance. Unfortunately, the decision by the Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi of not attending this important meeting has thrown cold water over the ambitions and aspirations of the BJP. The more damaging aspect had been the open canvassing by the supporters of Shri Modi that he should be declared the Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP. This has brought in the open the divisions within the BJP. It is an extremely unfortunate development.

Cases against Sanjiv Bhatt show his criminal ways: Gujarat Govt to court

The criminal cases pending against arrested IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt show that he has a "criminal behaviour/ways", says the affidavit filed by the state government today in the court here, opposing bail to him.

The affidavit was filed by investigating officer NC Patel, in the court of Judge VK Vyas, who is hearing Bhatt's bail application.

Bhatt was arrested last week in connection with the FIR filed by Police Constable KD Panth, which alleges that the IPS officer threatened him and made him sign a false affidavit with regard to the meeting called by Chief Minister Narendra Modi on February 27, 2002, hours after Godhra train carnage.

Affidavit says that there are number of criminal cases registered against Bhatt in Gujarat.

It mentions the 1990 case of police atrocity against Bhatt in Jamnagar district, a case of custodial torture in 1994 at Porbander, and a 1996 case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act in Pali, Rajasthan.

The cases reflect his criminal "ways", so he should not be granted bail, says the affidavit, filed in Gujarati.

The affidavit further says that Bhatt is an influential person and could intimidate witnesses in the case by threatening them.

The hearing on bail plea is likely to continue on October 7.

Advani on a yathra against corruption and the Congress arrested some BJP MPs in Delhi and an ex-CM in Karnataka for corruption putting Advani in the defense and most of the second rung leaders not coming to his rescue.

I think the only purpose the Rath Yatra is serving is to reaffirm Advani as a P/M. candidate. One takes out yatra to galvanise support from the public for a specific cause. Here the people of India are already mobilised and vocal against corruption, so why the need for a Rath Yatra?

I doubt if BJP would project anyone as a PM for the next election. They would leave it to the NDA to choose the PM after the election. I am sure Advani is aware of that. If there is any personal ulterior motive in the Rathyathra it may be to show to his chelas in prison in the cash for vote scam that he is fighting for them.

If the present movement against corruption in public life gains its momentum by the time the next general election takes place, there is every possibility that some new political formation may come up. In fact, the old slogans of BJP are fast becoming irrelevant for the voters. Unfortunately , the BJP is bogged down by in fight and personality clash amongst the top leaders which is giving a very negative message to the general public. In the case of the Congress party, if it projects a young leader as its prospective candidate for PM, there is every possibility that it may along with other coalition partners give a repeat performance of the last general election, not withstanding the scams. However, if some new political formation can come up and makes fight against corruption its main agenda,

Bail has been granted to Shri Sanjeev Bhatt, the suspended IPS Officer. UNfortunately, this has so far not taken note of in thisw Forum. It is quite in contrast to the charges filed by the State Govenment agaist the office which has been reproduced above in great detail.

While granting bail to the officer, the observations made by the Court have not praised or fully supported the Gujarat Government. This is not to the advantage for SHRI Narendra Modi. Let us see the final judgement.
