Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 11-25-2003 Stopping xtian missionaries -------------------------- The total evangelical budget is $150 bil a year of which we can assume that $75 bil is allotted for India Next I make the reasonable assumption, that it takes 100 X the money to make a convert as it is to retain a convert So a carefully targeted hindu charity of $1 bil / year will fully stop this This rests on a triad 1. Mobile medical van with paramedic 2. Primary school 3. Small temple Suggested charities http://www.ekal.org http://www.idrf.org Bharat Sevashram Sangha Aim for Seva ---- If you understand that xtianity is a parasitical implant on the western Indo-european cultural group, you can see the decay of its hold Church attendance is 5 % in western europe and 30% in US So how much longer will the western public be funding conversion drives now that their homeland is under attack from islamic immigrants Next the increasing economic prosperity in India decreases the scope for rice xtians Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 03-27-2004 Hindu charity can stop xtian conversions To stop conversions, both sewa and re-ignition of religious sentiments are needed A devout poor hindu wont convert, but a non-devout middle class hindu will convert Some charities that do religion and social service and US tax-exempt and are very cost effective The missionary budget aimed at India is $100 billion a year To retain a hindu costs 100 times less as to make a convert If each NRI hindu tithes 3% pre-tax, to carefully selected charities, the problem can be licked Plus economic growth in India is reducing impact of rice xtianity 1. Bharat sevashram sangha 2. Aimforseva.org 3. Ammachi.org 4. Chinnajeeyar.org Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 03-30-2004 A look at the finances of stopping conversions 1. Evangelical budget = $100 bil / year 2. Assuming 1% counter-charity will cost $1 billion a year India has 500,000 villages, which means $2000 per village per year for counter-measures Each NRI must adopt 1 village The ekal vidyalaya program is actually more frugal It runs a village for $350 per year, meaning we can cover all 1 lakh tribal villages at $35 mil a year As far as medical care goes, I like the IDRF scheme of mobile medical van 90% of all illnesses can be taken care of by a mobile medical van $11000 is the cost of a mobile medical van and you can cover 20 villages with this Ask your folks not to drop money into Indian temple hundis The money is stolen by govt and given to madrasas Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 04-07-2004 Please put all your purchases on IDRF credit card IDRF Schoolpop Platinum Visa® Card is here!! Who can I talk to in Canada ? Is there a contact point for promoting, creating awareness, or even media PR who can take up this cause ? If you have literature, and/or material, I can canvas for awareness in my locality. Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 05-14-2004 At ekal.org website they have a US address In addition, I work on several anti-missionary projects 1. $11 a month feeds 60 tribal kids in Orissa run by ISKCON http://www.foodrelief.org 2. halton@chinmayamission.org (905) 540-9995 Chinmaya Halton, Canada, gets $2 matching for every $1 they raise from Canadian govt for their projects in Rural India 3. Finally in Tamil Nadu, I work on several highly successful anti-missionary projects and we look for donors and volunteers after screening for confidentiality Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-14-2004 GS: Have split some of your post into this new thread. Others please contribute generously (atleast a few suggestions <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-14-2004 GS/Viren, Thanks guys, Some feedback.. Just donated $51.00 to the ISKCON website. Tried going to the ekal website first but they wanted $365.00 upfront thru paypal (?). One I cant afford that kind of money upfront and two I am not too sure what paypal is and three it would be nice if I can somehow donate the amount I want to that website - could you guys relate this to the ekal authorities ?? The third one was really troubling - in their registration they asked for name etc. (along with address & email address) and then asked for payment method (which had just one option - paypal) - upto that point the impression I got was I am donating $365.00. They also had some kind of pprogramme preference (?) that had "sponsor a school* and *FTC* - dont know what FTC is ? <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='unsure.gif' /><!--endemo--> Regards.. Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-14-2004 I used IDRF to donate to Ekal Vidyalaya. That kills two birds with one stone. it encourages IDRF which is under considerable flak lately while also helping Ekal Vidyalaya. I also asked that it be used in my home district, so i can visit it when i go there. That way there is a personal connection to the organization. paypal is a pretty safe way to pay rajesh. I use it for a lot of the mail order purchases i make (e.g. computer components). That way you have middle man to complain to . I believe paypal is associated with ebay. No wonder, whats happening in india, they cannot counter it. I just wished they talked to me directly to get a feedback, which they never will Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-15-2004 Got another friend to donate $51.00 more.. I suggest other IF-ites to post something on this thread whenever they make donations - sometimes we get lazy - and maybe that will wake us up.. Also please share your experiences on activism - not much of an activist myself - that will give me ideas and maybe some energy/inspiration to get my lazy ass off that stoopid couch.. <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /><!--endemo--> Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-15-2004 Whenever I see anti Hindu charity article , I make donation to that charity. It is my reqular practice for last two years. I started donating money to local temple and Arya Samaj in India, especially some amount to Purohit. They don't get paid much and lack motivation. Poor Brahmin remains poor, that need to be changed. In North there is no visible discrimination among caste excluding UP. Encourage friends and family member to contribute to Hindu charities. Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-15-2004 Check this organization in Mysore District - working in Tribal areas of Mysore district. (www.vivekamysore.com) Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement. Christian missionaries having been trying to evangelize but not with much success so far. This NGO was recently registered in USA as Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement of North America (www.viveka-usa.org) I will give more info shortly Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 05-15-2004 Manju, remember I warned you about this charity signing onto a psec appeal promiseofindia.org Did you alert them Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 05-15-2004 k.ram - IDRF IDRF is run by people who work in other jobs They do this as volunteer work If you have any suggestions, please call them and they are open to any idea Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-15-2004 GS I spent about five to six hours reading all the endorsement on that website you had given the link for (about six months back, I think). After that I spoke with the top guy at SVYM and told him about the activities. He said he will keep an eye for any anti India activties at the Promise of India group. I can assure you this much that the top people at SVYM are as pro Hindu as any of us here. And they are very aware of the Evangelizing and infact have to deal with in their daily work very often. Thanks Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - G.Subramaniam - 05-18-2004 From a field worker I learnt that one of the key reasons for TDP defeat is xtian missionary in AP Please support http://www.chinnajeeyar.org Indian Charities (Pro-Hindu)/Nationalist - Guest - 05-22-2004 In past week 17, additional farmers have committed suicide in AP while our neta babu nexus are dragging their feet. 3000 have already done so in the prior administration. This is outrageous. I've checked around and found that there are no NGO types helping out in this area. Are there any charities around that can help here? |
