Army flattens the Hindu villages that are now taken over by the islamaniacs (so we no longer need to worry that the islamoterrorists may one day re-infiltrate from BD), and the displaced Hindus are back on their land this time next week. Bangladeshi islamaniacs and Indian islamaniacs reeling in unexpected shock and fear at Indian reprisal against terrorism.

I agree that people need to indulge in it. (BTW, rest of this post is not directed at Bodhi anymore, am thinking aloud.) It is what leads to planning: first set the goals, then work out the means of getting there.
Hindus don't do this, they refuse to think of the bigger picture of the future - they just concentrate on the next bowl of rice, on the next wedding, on the school/college/university entrance exams - completely oblivious to the fact that meanwhile the jihadis are now several steps into *their* plan for converting Bharatam into Mughalistan. <- They're not sleepwalking like us. They might even be on schedule.
Because, while our people were playing innocent, that's what the islamis were doing: plotting how to take over ("grab those Assamese villages, terrorise the kaffirs there until they're dead or have run off, plant our flags and then step 1 is complete") and implementing it.
While we were playing ostrich, christians were plotting to take over ("convert that family, get this village, purchase that media house, buy that journalist, kill that Swami, print that in the papers, ask for partition of Hindu territory into christian-only district") and implementing it.
While we were napping, the communistas were also scheming ("infiltrate into universities, rewrite history by whitewashing christoislamism while blackening Hindu Dharma's name, brainwash youngsters and 1 step closer to Communist Utopia of India") and implementing their plans.
Hindus view all of the christoislamicommunist actions as random (in spite of the public declarations of christoislamicommunists detailing their ultimate goals) and refuse to see or acknowledge that there's a solid plan behind it. Hindus don't even want to see individual events coming (christoislamic birthrate and conversion demographics) and what's more, they have *NO* plans of their own other than to coast through life assuming that, even when other Hindus get blown up as happens regularly, they may possibly survive 'til maybe next year or thereabouts. Yeah, that's a *really* good plan - but please please please stop having babies then. (Will admit that extinction is a plan <i>of sorts</i>, but then don't do that half-heartedly as well.)
If extinction is not what they're aiming for, then Hindus need to be aggressive. Gandhians will recoil at the very thought in their militant Pacifism-Or-Death POV, but Hindus need to accustom themselves to the idea:
BE AGGRESSIVE.
We're not christians to preach that the meek inherit the earth. We know from observation that this is untrue. This is the real world, after all. Survival is achieved by fighting for your right to exist - and by neutralising memes that would destroy you.
Stop merely reacting, start acting. We know their goals. But why must we only counter? Why can't we set our own objectives, make our own plans? Our way of life matters to us, doesn't it? Or are we happy to just last another hundred years and don't care whether Bharatam turns into Islamic Repugnance of Mughalistan/India-for-chwist/Maoist failed state by 2100? If Hindus are serious about who we are/want to remain and about whether our ethos and civilisation deserve to last and evolve, unhindered and unterrorised, we need to do so much more than crossing our fingers and hoping our troubles will all just magically melt away. Because they won't. Not that way.

1. Need to have objectives. It doesn't matter how unreasonable they are. "Mughalistan" and "Nagaland for chwist" used to sound laughable at some point too, and look how much closer they are now to making these things a reality. (E.g. Christians always start planning for a village to become christian, then they raise money to plant a church there and to either buy up or hammer the locals into submission. Voila, reality. And Islamaniacs plant their scimitars and, after visiting their mosque, leave a trail of dead Hindu fishermen behind to then proclaim they've got a part of Bharatam's coastline. Done.)
2. Once we have objectives, we need to think of ways to get there: plan of action.
3. Set a decent time frame for each (else procrastination kicks in).
E.g. "Nepal returned to Hindu Dharma in 10 years. Memetic disease of christianism gone from Bharatam in 20 years. Memetic disease of Islamism gone from Bharatam in 50 years. Memetic disease of communism gone from Bharatam in 20 years. Hindu Bangladesh in 70 years, Pakistan becomes Hindu land in 80 years. Afghanistan Hindu land in 100 years. Economic and social improvement to lives of people in Dharmic India within 20 years. Regionalism/language-one-up-manship eradicated in 15 years. Uncompromised versions of local Bharatiya languages spoken by population in 15 years, nationwide literacy in Samskritam in 15-20 years. Flourishing in industry, research, arts - not long after."

Let me psyche it, it was: "Roll over and submit. Let the islamaniacs take over Assam, Kashmir and Bengal, we'll retreat to the next bordering state and await a re-run of the same events there. Let the christos have the NE and Kerala, we'll huddle in Karnataka. And then, from our reduced territory of the Even More Psecular Republic of Mini-India, we can chart a course to become ever more secular and accomodating of christoislamicommunism in the futile hope that next time they'll not repeat their previous christoislamic patterns".
