<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Sri Krishna has nothing to do with Christianity
Hare Krishna,
Vedic Scriptures are the basis of Vedic faith. None of the scriptures indicates any relation between Bhagavan Sri Krishna and Jesus Christ .
I agree that , Jesus was a great soul and the entire world respect him for his great contributions to humanity. But, his philosophy is not based on vedic aspects.
Swami Prabhupadaâs mission abroad was to attract Christians to Vaishnavism. Diplomacy, patience and step-by-step preaching were needed to achieve this transition. In this process, Swami Prabhupada had to provide several explanations (like glorifying the yogic attributes of Christ) in order to convince the budding vaishnava aspirants within Christian community. These specific teachings of the Swami were not at all meant for the pure vaishnavas.
If we study the functioning of consecrated Sri Krishna temples (like Gurvayoor), we can find the Deities to be true replicas of Krishna, that breathes life.Â
In fact, the âDeityâ at Guruvayoor had been worshipped by Sri Krishna Himself while living in Dwaraka. As per His prior-instruction, after the destruction of Dwaraka, the âDeityâ was installed and consecrated by Brihaspati and Vayudeva, at Guruvayoor. The functioning  of this temple is in accordance with Sri Krishnaâs wishes which are being revealed to the templeâs authorized Tantrics and Vedic astrologers, as and when required. As desired by the Bhagavan, non-hindus are not allowed entry inside the temple.Â
Initially, Adi Sanakaracharya had rejected deity-worship and refused to identify the supremacy of Lord Krishna. Once, by yogic power He was traveling by air over Guruvayoor temple and did not bother to care Sri Krishna. The Bhagavan got annoyed at this arrogance and pulled Sankara down. (There is a hole in the northern side of Guruvayoor temple where Sankara fell down). This incident changed Shankara totally. He cried for the Bhagavanâs pardon and recited a beautiful hymn praising Sri Krishna as the Godhead. Bhagavan Krishna pardoned Sankara, gave vision and blessed him. As instructed by the Bhagavan , Sankara stayed in Guruvayoor temple for (41) days and established rules and regulations for the worship. Â
Lord Sastha is the son of Mohini (incarnation of Vishnu) and Siva. Therefore , we can find Sastha as auxiliary Deity (Parivara Devata) in many vaishnava temples like Guruvayoor. Also Siva, Durga and Ganesh are allowed as auxiliary Deities in vaishnava temples. But, can any one show a deity of âChristâ within the premises of any consecrated ( based on vaishnava AGAMAS) temple?. Does any qualified vedic astrologer accept Christ as Krishnaâs son?.
â Narayaneeyam â ( written by Melpathoor Narayana Bhattatiri in the year 1587 ) is a condensation of Bhagavata purana. This hymn is a conversation between Bhattatiri and Sri Krishna, in Guruvayoor temple. The entire âNarayaneeyamâ was approved by Bhagavan Krishna, Himself . Soon after completing this hymn, Bhattatiriâs incurable paralysis disappeared. In Narayaneeyam, we can find the following information :
There are some ambiguities in the Vedas , which requires correct interpretation.
Krishna is the Supreme God. He is Mahavishnu. His incarnations are Rama, Parasurama, Narasimha, Vamana, etc.Â
Adi Sankara has acknowledged Sri Krishna (Mahavishnu) as the Godhead. His commentaries for Gita and Vishnu Sahasranama reveals this fact.
The correct worship is that of Sri Krishna who is pure âSathwicâ . The benefits of worshipping other Devatas are given by Krishna, Himself.
( Note - : All main events associated with Sri Krishna till 27th November 1587 have been mentioned in âNarayayeneeyam. We can not find any indication about âJesus Christ â or his philosphy in this sacred most recent hymn . This confirms that Sri Krishna has nothing to do with the anti-vedic Christianity. If a follower of Vaishnavism, goes to church and partakes bread and wine (flesh and blood of Christ), he is no more a Vaishnava).
Bhagavan Krishna does not entertain non-believers and He has clarified it in the following verses of Gita :Â
Chapter 3, Sloka 32
ye tv etad abhyasuyanto / nanutisthanti me matam
sarva-jnana-vimudhams tan / viddhi nastan acetasah
(But know that those envious persons who do not follow these instructions of Mine are bereft of discrimination and all true jnana, and are ruined in their endeavours for perfection.)
Chapter 7, Sloka 15
na mam duskrtino mudhah / prapayante naradhamah
mayayapahrta-jnana / asuram bhavam asritah
(Those miscreants and fools who are devoid of discrimination, who are the lowest among human beings, whose knowledge has been completely stolen by maya, and who have an asuric nature, do not surrender unto Me.)
Chapter 9, Sloka 11
avajananti mam mudha / manusim tanum asritam
param bhavam ajananto / mama bhuta-mahesvaram
( When I appear in My human-like form, foolish people with mundane intelligence disrespect Me, because they cannot comprehend My nature as the Supreme Lord of all beings. )
Chapter 9, Sloka 12
moghasa mogha-karmano / mogha-jnana vicetasah
raksasim asurincaiva / prakrtim mohinim sritah
(The hopes of such foolish people for liberation, fruitful gain and the culture
of jnana all go in vain. Thus, with their minds distracted, they adopt the
deluded nature of atheists and asuras. )
Chapter 9, Sloka 66-68 :
sarva-dharman parityajya / mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo / moksayisyami ma sucah
idante natapaskaya / nabhaktaya kadacana
na casusrusave vacyam / na ca mam yo 'bhyasuyati
ya imam paramam guhyam / mad-bhaktesv abhidhasyati
bhaktim mayi param krtva / mam evaisyaty asamsayah
(Completely abandoning all bodily and mental dharma, such as varna and asrama, fully surrender to Me alone. I shall liberate you from all reactions to your sins. Do not grieve.
You should never explain this essence of Gita-sastra to anyone whose senses are uncontrolled, who is a non-devotee, who is devoid of a serving mood, or who is envious of Me.
He who instructs this most confidential knowledge of Gita-sastra to My bhaktas will attain para bhakti unto Me, and becoming free from all doubts, he will finally attain Me.)
Chapter 16, Sloka 19
aneka-citta-vibhranta / moha-jala-samavrtah
prasaktah kama-bhogesu / patanti narake 'sucau
(Perplexed by many desires and anxieties, entangled in a net of delusion, and excessively addicted to sense enjoyment, they fall into situations that are impure and hellish.)
Chapter 18, Sloka 65
manmana bhava mad-bhakto / mad-yaji mam namaskuru
mam evaisyasi satyam te / pratijane priyo 'si me
(Offer your mind to Me; become My bhakta by hearing and chanting, etc. about My names, forms, qualities and pastimes; worship Me and offer obeisances to Me. In this way, you will certainly come to Me. I promise you this truthfully because you are very dear to Me.)
Chapter 18, Sloka 66
sarva-dharman parityajya / mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo / moksayisyami ma sucah
(Completely abandoning all bodily and mental dharma, such as varna and asrama, fully surrender to Me alone. I shall liberate you from all reactions to your sins. Do not grieve.)
Chapter 18, Sloka 67
idante natapaskaya / nabhaktaya kadacana
na casusrusave vacyam / na ca mam yo 'bhyasuyati
(You should never explain this essence of Gita-sastra to anyone whose senses are uncontrolled, who is a non-devotee, who is devoid of a serving mood, or who is envious of Me.)
Chapter 18, Sloka 68
ya imam paramam guhyam / mad-bhaktesv abhidhasyati
bhaktim mayi param krtva / mam evaisyaty asamsayah
( He who instructs this most confidential knowledge of Gita-sastra to My bhaktas will attain para bhakti unto Me, and becoming free from all doubts, he will finally attain Me.)

Subject: Re: [iyfdelhi] Re: Jesus- the incarnation of Lord ( Who told you so
?)
Hare Krishna
Question - Some people are telling Krsna and christ are same. But, they are >unwilling to give same consideration to Lord Siva whose philosophy is >very much closer to that of Krishna.
Answer - We ,all being conditioned by modes of material nature, are not able to judge the position of great personalities like Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva and Lord Jesus Christ.
So, It does not matter what is the opinion of people, what matters is the opinion of Vedic scriptures and its true followers (Acharyas) as they can see the things as they are.
So, Devotees ,before accepting any theory, test its authenticity, on the basis of Guru, sadhu and Sastra.
As far as Lord jesus criest is concerned, the article
*
http://www.iskcon.com/new/050211_opinion.htm
never considers jesus same as Lord Krishna, rather it is explained into it that He is empowered incarnation of Supreme Lord Krishna, which means he was specifically empowered to preach the message of God.
Here is a related conversation between father Emmanuel Jungclaussen, a Benedictine monk from Niederalteich
Monastery and ISKCON founder acharya Srila prabhupada (Taken from Book Science of self realization..chapter-4)
Srila Prabhupäda: What is the meaning of the word Christ?
Father Emmanuel: Christ comes from the Greek word Christos, meaning "the anointed one."
Srila Prabhupäda: Christos is the Greek version of the word Kåñëa.
Father Emmanuel: This is very interesting.
Srila Prabhupäda: When an Indian person calls on Kåñëa, he often says, "Kåñöa." Kåñöa is a Sanskrit word meaning "attraction." So when we address God as "Christ," "Kåñöa," or "Kåñëa," we indicate the same all attractive Supreme Personality of Godhead. When Jesus said, "Our Father, who an in heaven, sanctified be Thy name," that name of God
was "Kåñöa" or "Kåñëa." Do you agree?
Father Emmanuel: I think Jesus, as the son of God, has revealed to us the actual name of God: Christ. We can call God "Father," but if we want to address Him by His actual name, we have to say "Christ."
Srila Prabhupäda: Yes. "Christ" is another way of saying Kåñöa, and "Kåñöa" is another way of pronouncing Kåñëa, the name of God.
This conversation between two great personalities clearly says that Lord Jesus has always been considered as son of God even by christians. His teachings are for elevating the consciousness of people, that is another point that now christians are killing cows and eating meat on the name of
bible ( which never teaches all this).
As far as Lord Shiva is concerened, vedic scriptures clearly states :
         kshiram yatha dadhi vikara-visesha-yogat
sanjayate na hi tatah prithag asti hetoh
yah sambhutam api tatha samupaiti karyad
         govindam adi-purusham tam aham bhajami
              (Brahma-Samhita 5.45)
Lord Brahma is glorifying Lord Krishna in thisd verse by saying :
Just as milk is transformed into curd by the action of acids, but yet the effect curd is neither same as, nor different from, its cause, viz., milk, so I adore the primeval Lord Govinda of whom the state of Sambhu is a
transformation for the performance of the work of destruction.
In purport , Srila bhaktisiddhanta saraswati thakur (spiritual master of Srila Prabhupada) explains :
Sambhu is not a second Godhead other than Krishna. Those, who entertain such discriminating sentiment, commit a great offense against the Supreme Lord. The supremacy of Sambhu is subservient to that of Govinda; hence they are not really different from each other.
as you said
Question - But, they are unwilling to give same consideration to Lord Siva whose philosophy is very much closer to that of Krishna.
Answer - Lord Shiva has no separate philosophy than Krishna, He always meditates on the form of Lord Sankarshana (who is an expansion of Lord Krishna Himself).
Vaishnavas always give proper respect to Lord Shiva as stated in the above verse.
Hope this will try to help in understanding, the real nature of these great personalities.
Hare Krishna
