  Third Vishwa Hindu Maha Sammelan
Posted by: Guest - 02-14-2007, 03:32 AM - Forum: Trash Can - Replies (11)

Another major Hindutva related news that all major English news media - print, cyber, or electronics - have decided to ignore. Thanks to Dainik Jagran for great coverage.

The Third Vishwa Hindu Maha Sammelan (World Hindu Conference) is in progress in Allahabad, after the conclusion of the Ardha Kumbh. As many as 500,000 Hindus from all corners of Bharat and at least 110 countries are attending the conference. Within Bharat, people from at least 100,000 villages were represented. Conference started on 11th Feb and got concluded today which is 101st birthday of Shri Guruji (MS Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghachaalak of RSS). Suh event, on this scale was last organized in 1979.

<img src='http://epaper.jagran.com/1322007/ald/img_9729.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

As many as 200 spiritual leaders from all different sects of Indic faiths attended and addressed people from one stage, and then deliberated internally in private discussions. Leaders like Dalai Lama, Kanchi Shankaracharya etc addressing people from one stage is an acheivement in itself.

RSS and VHP demonstrated their organization skills by conducting the event peacefully and smoothly, despite not very cooperating governments both in center and in UP, and despite bad weather. They set up a whole city on sand called Guruji Golwalkar Nagar.

Governor Blathering Nonsense At Sanskrit Universit
Posted by: Hauma Hamiddha - 02-10-2007, 04:29 AM - Forum: Trash Can - Replies (14)

.Governor's words
[ 10 Feb, 2007 0159hrs ISTTIMES NEWS NETWORK ]
"However, the governor, who is also the chancellor of the university, was
taken away safely from the place. Not only students, but teachers too felt hurt
with his speech and remarks therein."

What a fool. I dare him to give such a derogatory speech to any group
that holds and cherishes any ideal. He only dares because he thought Hindus were
sheep. What would he do if he knew that Government Ministers in Mexico are
supporting Vedic research in Mexico. It is truly a fact that Hindu Dharma &
India's greatest enemies are Indians. At least its also obvious that India's
greatest Supporters are Indians as well. Ravana and Vibhishan. Duryodhana and
Yudhisthira. I guess its not a new phenomenon. V
VARANASI: Governor T V Rajeswar would not have imagined that his
well-meaning advice to students of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (SSU) for
career building would invite their uncontrolled ire, forcing him to leave the
place unceremoniously under security cover.

The governor, who was addressing the convocation at SSU on Friday afternoon, had
to leave the place amidst utter chaos and slogan shouting.

Protesting against his remarks against Sanskrit learning, the students not only
threw chairs and shoes at the convocation venue, but also turned violent,
indulging in brick-batting at the main gate targeting the motorcade.

However, the governor, who is also the chancellor of the university, was taken
away safely from the place. Not only students, but teachers too felt hurt with
his speech and remarks therein.

Everything was going on as per schedule at the convocation until the address of
the Governor, who was presiding over the function.

The entire audience was shocked when he described Sanskrit learning as worthless
in this age of science and technology.

He said that Sanskrit learning would lead students to the bail-gadi yug (age of
bullock-carts). "Sanskrit is no longer the language of God,"he said adding that
the knowledge of English and science was essential in this age for a bright
career.

He went on to say he would take a lead for amendment in state universities
regulation for compulsory education of English.

He exhorted Sanskrit students to come out of the age-old confines of the
language and look forward to learning modern things for development.

He said that even Greek and Latin languages were out of the syllabus of western
universities while Sanskrit was being taught in most Indian schools even today,
he said.

He added that languages like Sanskrit and Persian had been promoted by the
British to divide and rule the country.

Not in SSU alone, the governor had earlier also called upon students at the
convocation at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth (MGKV) to rise above the Vedic
and Gandhian studies in this age of modern science to ensure their place and
position in modern-day metros.

"Aj zamana badal raha hai. Sirf Vedic aur Gandhian studies se aap log aage nahin
badh sakate hain,"he said. He said that students should move ahead with the
time, leaving out-dated traditions behind.

This speech of the governor annoyed students, who were there to receive their
degrees. Seeing their restlessness the function was cut short and the National
Anthem hurriedly sung.

However, the students created a scene at the venue, hurling chairs and shoes.
They also raised slogans against the governor

&quot;Vishnu Strategy&quot;: Bigotry on JESUS scale
Posted by: Guest - 02-04-2007, 12:38 PM - Forum: Library & Bookmarks - Replies (15)

This guy has seems to be having an absolutely convoluted understanding of Lord Vishnu or the Bhagavadgeeta. He has taken the Robert
Oppenheimer comment from the Gita I am death, the mighty destroyer of the world, out to destroy, completely out of context and making it seem seem as if Lord Vishnu encouraged the killing of innocents in Iraq, Israel as is happening now

Foreign Policy In Focus

The Supreme Lord said: I am death, the mighty destroyer of the world, out to destroy." According to the great Hindu text Bhagavad-Gita, Vishnu delivered that speech to Prince Arjuna before a great battle almost eight millennia ago. Physicist Robert Oppenheimer paraphrased it in 1945 to describe the explosion of the atomic bomb. The latest channeling of the Hindu god can be found in an Israeli commander's evaluation of last summer's war with Lebanon: "What we did was insane and monstrous, we covered entire towns in cluster bombs."
The commander was decrying the way Israel, the United States, and Great Britain wage war these days, which has increasingly become an exercise in mass destruction. In the last five years, Vishnu has visited Afghanistan, Iraq, and Lebanon. The result has been death and ruin on a biblical—or more aptly, a Bhagavad-Gita— scale.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>RSS backs Rajnath</b>
Pioneer News Service | New Delhi
The RSS has joined former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in endorsing BJP chief Rajnath Singh's selection of the national executive and office-bearers.

The RSS' support to Singh will help him silence critics in the party for dropping Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi from the Parliamentary Board and reducing the stature of some other leaders.

"The new team is a carefully crafted exercise in political manoeuvre and accommodation," the RSS said in an editorial in the Sangh mouthpiece Organiser.

The flattering editorial added: "He (Singh) has cobbled together a young team of office-bearers, sticking to the principle of continuity with change.

"Since the BJP is fortunate to have a large array of talented and experienced leadership reserve, it is not an easy task for any leader to present a perfectly inclusive team in an organisationally exclusive structure. The beauty is that he has not disturbed the rhythm of the onward march."

  Rahul Gandhi In Gang Rape?
Posted by: Guest - 02-03-2007, 12:09 AM - Forum: Trash Can - Replies (30)

Did anyone catch this news?

Rahul Gandhi has sent notices to Hinduunity.org website - to a person named Rohit Viasman and Ezboard website - for spreading "obscenene and indecent" information about him.

Abhishek Singhvi, his lawyer (and Congress spokesman) said it was very hard to find out the names and addresses of people sending information on Internet, but somehow he managed to find out the identity of these people, who are living in the USA. He also said this information was spread from the Hinduunity website and the person claims to be a Bajrang Dal activist. He said these people are bringing a badname to Hinduism.

and
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Rahul_G...how/1556410.cms

A little bit of google gave this document : http://melbourne.indymedia.org/uploads/rahul.pdf

1. Above document clearly has the postal address and email address of the writer. So why did Mr. Abhishek Singhvi have any difficulty identifying or reaching the owners of the document?

2. Isn't HinduUnity website banned in India anyways?

Here is the blogspot blog about the case : http://intellibriefs.blogspot.com/2007/01/...-gang-rape.html

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->It's a pity that Pat Robertson never studied European history, or the history of his own ancestors who all came running to the New World ( America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, S. Africa, etc) from the christianized Old World (Europe), to escape the gruelling poverty of the Old World. Anyone who has read European history, or studied historical demography of Europe, or even the classic literature from 18th-19th century Europe, will understand the extent to which European society was plagued by extreme rampant poverty, terrible living conditions, and social divisions, which prompted the migration of millions of Europeans to the New Worlds in serch of better life. Yet, Europe was very much christian when poverty of an excruciating nature prevailed in Europe.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->Very true. One can even get a glimpse of the grinding poverty from Charles Dickens' writings, or see it in the dramatised versions made by English channels: David Copperfield, Our Mutual Friend, Oliver Twist, Nicholas Nickleby. Also such programmes as the more recent North and South - which is significantly about the cotton industry in Manchester (their cotton industry could only survive because Britain systematically destroyed India's). In this last film, there's even a scene set at a London exhibition displaying items from 'all over the British Empire'. In one part of this scene you can see the characters standing in front of a Hindu statue.

The making-of of 'Our Mutual Friend' also has one of the actors saying something quite insightful: how the drama's setting of the Britain of that time was depicted rather accurately, and how the lower classes (who made up the poor) lived like they were in the slums of today's "Karachi" (actor's words). They literally lived in grime and dirt and had to scrape their living out of the roadside. By accident, the actor interviewed made some very good choice of words, even if Karachi does not come out favourably because of the comparison.
They play this stuff on TV here, and if they do so where you all are living, watch it. These are good to get some view of their history, as well as to see the sympathetic characters created by Dickens and the other English authors. (The regular people who stayed put in Britain appear to have been far better people than the christoterrorist colonials who terrorised India; at least when going by these dramas).

Britain's increase in wealth is directly proportional to India's increase in poverty.
Same correlation applies to all of colonial west and formerly-colonised countries.
The west really has to learn this which is the only thing that will teach it to stop slighting its former victims by its ignorance, an ignorance that still continues the colonial attitude of how 'they don't care'. The formerly-colonised countries also need to learn and remember this so that they know their poverty has nothing to do with their Old religions.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 27 (ANI): Violence erupted in Gorakhpur on Saturday, after a young man was stabbed to death during a minor scuffle between Hindus and Muslims.

Police said Hindus and Muslims clashed after 24-year-old Rajkumar Agrahari was killed when he had an argument with men taking out Moharram procession on Friday night.

The mob later damaged cars, attacked various shops and burnt them.

Eyewitnesses said that the police had to resort to a baton-charge to disperse the crowd.

"There were some anti-nationals in the mob. When everyone started walking, they attacked the Hindus. Their houses have been vandalised and their cars have been attacked. A car has been burnt. The situation is worsening here," said an eyewitness.
At least a dozen people were injured in the scuffle. (ANI)<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
